Ordered delivery for everyone when we were working. First off, forgetting food is a big no-no. Now someone on my crew doesn't get their food. Not a great impression but thankfully a pizza was ordered so they did at least get something even if not the sandwich they ordered. The bread was pretty narrow so it definitely looks like less sandwich than you get elsewhere. I also would prefer it if they actually cut the sandwich in half all the way through (not trying to pull apart a meatball sub). It was only okay. I had a meatball and it had melted cheese and some meatballs but was pretty plain. None of these were overly amazing and the portion was small for the price. read more

Not Bad! It's not my favorite type of pizza, but it was well made with high quality ingredients, which sets them apart from many of the gawd-awful pizza places in the area. Tried the cold Italian sub at New York Ruben's and overall it was solid but nothing particularly special. The flavors were on point with classic deli meats, cheese, and a nice touch of oil and vinegar, but there was nothing that made it stand out compared to other Italian subs I have had. For $15.50 I expected a bit more. Honestly this felt like it should have been closer to $10, especially since there was not even a small bag of chips included. If you are taking it to go be mindful that the oil and vinegar can make the bread soggy by the time you eat it. Price definitely played a role in my rating but I would not rule out coming back to try some of their other sandwiches. Hopefully those deliver a bit more value for the cost. read more

We got the pastrami sandwich, it was filled with pastrami on a hoagie roll. It was huge with all fixings. Loved their onion rings too- not greasy. Service was excellent, friendly guy and the restaurant was clean and parking located behind the restaurant. We definitely go here again whenever we're in the area. read more

Went back today and ate their Margherita pizza. Loved the crust, sauce (mildly sweet) & cheese. Nicely foldable & crispy with a pleasant chew. Not soggy. Better than Pizzicato. The only reason I am not giving 5 stars: I didn't enjoy the fresh tomatoes they put on. Not a big deal though as you can take them off. If you want water, you have to buy it. read more

Food was great BUT unfortunately the 2nd time I wanted to order I called at 8:30pm Saturday the lady told me she wasn't sure if I could order since they started to clean already then proceeded to ask me if I could get there right away. I told her no it seems as if it's a bother I'm wanting to order 30mins before they close. I understand the employees want to leave but maybe change your CLOSING TIME TO 8:30 instead. Wish there was a 4.5 rating... We have been randomly finding pizza in the greater Portland area because outside of that area the pizza has been awful. NY Rubens is definitely a keeper! The crust is amazing...firm, crisp on the bottom and tasty. A good base can make up for other shortcomings. The topping: sausage, Canadian bacon and onions. The onions....just so-so. The sausage was tasty and the Canadian bacon was crisp so when you bit into it, the entire piece did not try to come with the bite. The sauce is slightly sweet and delicious. Our one criticism is there was too much cheese. I will say that the excess cheese did not make the pizza overly greasy, so it was good cheese. First visit to this place. On a Friday evening, 2/27/2026 we ordered a large 18" cheese pizza, with mushrooms,olives and pepperoni on half. In a word - awful!! The pizza was soggy, and the toppings were skimpy. I counted 11 slices of mushrooms. Maybe they ran out of toppings. I love pizza, and ALWAYS finish what I don't eat later the next day, until I had this one. After eating just a couple of pieces, we just had to throw it out in the garbage. I showed up at opening on Saturday without placing an order ahead of time. I ordered a large pepperoni and the garlic cheesy bread and they had it ready in about 10 minutes. I was very impressed with the speed of it considering they had about 5 other orders that were also placed at the same time. Food was very very delicious, I could live off the garlic cheesy bread! My son loves the meatball sandwich and since I didn't want to make dinner I gave in and said we could get take out from here so I could give it a try. I ordered the rigatoni Al dente with just their 'secret sauce,' ricotta and mozzarella bc that's my perfect meal my daughter got the veggie sub....no complaints from my son, however mine was not good. First of all it was penne not rigatoni and if ur Italian you know your macaroni and you don't give penne when it clearly says rigatoni and not for nothing, the fact the menu says they only have rigatoni there should be no reason penne should even be in their kitchen. But truth be told, if it said penne on the menu I wouldn't have ordered it bc that's usually a sign that they are just ur average hole in the wall spot that's far from authentic. Their 'secret sauce' they claim to put so much into was quite possibly the worst I've ever had. It tasted like a mix of cheep jar sauce, bagged pizza sauce and anything else they could find to try to make it taste homemade. There was no ricotta and WAY too much mozzarella melted on top-yuck! I ate 3 bites and I just couldn't, either could my husband, an Italian from NY. The portions were decent as they should be at $18 a pop'! This was my husband and I, first time trying this place. I had the cheese pizza (ate 3 slices and had leftovers) and my husband had the chicken cutlet sandwich. My pizza was delicious! The cheese wasn't over cooked, it was perfect and gooey. The crust was flaky, not overcooked and simply yummy. While some people seek out this type of cuisine, a menu where almost every item comes with grilled onions and peppers is not my thing. Even the salad has onions. This relatively new restaurant in Tualatin is in a strip mall and there is nothing about it that made me excited to return. The service was a bit odd and the person at the counter was unfamiliar with the menu, so it made for an awkward dining experience. I leaned back and thought about the usual places, mentally, like a good quarterback in the NFL I went through my progressions and checked off each place like a well covered receiver. This singular thought entered my tax-addled brain, "I want something different." What have I driven by a thousand times and not stopped at yet? Something new.... new... New? New York? What about that New York Ruben place on Martinazzi? Is there a cooler named street than Martinazzi? Focus! Food. Yeah, something New York will settle your Jewish ancestral needs. Pastrami to be exact. Just because a place is in a strip mall does not mean it is a harbinger of bad things. Don't know why people get hung up on strip malls. In I walked and the smells of pizza and deli meat and maybe a hint of spicy mustard hit my olfactory senses. I looked around. It's pretty basic, a basic menu board, basic tables and chairs, basic layout for a long property. There are a couple of big screen TV's, an ample beer selection with some wine from Barefoot, a full selection of Coke products and several iced tea flavors. The menu is based on sandwiches and pizza. I walked up and ordered the Hot Pastrami, hold the sauerkraut and mild mustard. The counter help girl was very friendly and they started on my order pretty quickly. I watched as pastrami hit the grill mixed with garlic dill pickles, then three hearty slices of swiss cheese were layered on top and it was left to melt while the mile long baguette was toasted. At first I thought the sandwich was a little overpowered by the mustard but it must have been just on one little part because after the third bite or so the pastrami came through. It was a very good sandwich. I saw the pizzas and I have to admit I am intrigued, so I have something to go back and try... although I am interested in the Ruben and the Hot Meatball Wedge.
