We ordered take out and were told it would be 20 minutes. When we showed up about 30 minutes later, the order still wasn't ready. Fine, we ran to the grocery store and came back 10 minutes later. We picked up our order and headed home only to find they sent us home with an incomplete order. Due to traffic we didn't want to return so we called assuming they would just refund the item missing. Instead they were just completely indifferent and said if you want to come back we'll get you that item. If we did this the food would have been cold by the time we got back! So we just went ahead and chose to eat what we had received and this might be the WORSE pizza I have had. Seriously, a frozen pizza for a fraction of the price would have been better. Honestly we called because of the spectator pizza, but that pizza is king gone but the new menu was a hit for us! We had the La Guardia and it was DIVINEEEE: fresh tomato sauve with pullable mozzarella and a drizzle of balsamic glaze we were absolutely in HEAVEN! The crust: thin, New York style crust with a crunch to it with cornmeal crusted on the bottom to perfection. The price was a little higher than expected, but the ingredients were worth it. Best pizza in the area, hands down. They offer slices or whole pies. The garlic knots are excellent too! Hang out at the bar and watch the game, or slide into a booth with your family or friends. They also have a few games/trinket machines for the kids. read more

Some of the worst food I've ever had put in front of me. The "Boneless Wings" were over cooked chicken nuggets. I took the only booth/table that didn't have previous diners plates on it, and wiped the spilt water and food off it, after I found some napkins on another table. We ordered a to go pizza and while picking it up decided to have a drink and a slice there. The pizza didn't look very appetizing to start with and it was very subpar, the dishes brought to us also reeked of a dirty dishwasher. When we got home we realized the pizza looked a little weird. Did they put a bunch of their old single slices together to make one pizza? Did they make a new one and put an old slice on top? Who knows but this was absolutely awful. Called in a build-your-own with sausage and some veggies. On pickup, the server did not confirm the order, although he did say "Parmesan? Red Peppers?" Got home with their standard all-veggie pizza. Called, they didn't apologize but said they "thought I ordered a veggie". All communications were hurried and unfriendly. It seems the employees have not been trained to do basic customer service, on the phone or in person. Tried to eat the pizza, it was pretty gross, soggy and dull tasting, with uneven toppings. Love it! I love this place so much and I will willingly overlook the fact that my pizza wasn't as ordered and my wine glass wasn't super clean. I am admittedly hard on restaurants. This place deserves forgiveness and patronage. The guys in there (Dan and Brian) are so great to interact with and they handle the chaos that is the dinner-hour with ease and a sense of humor. Oh and by the way..... The pizza is incredible. This is the only place I've ever been where I forgot that I didn't get what I ordered. I have a feeling anything they put in front of me would be amazing. No they didn't get the order right and I don't care. Way to go Spectator! I like this place. You can order by the slice or get a 14"/18" pizza. The 18" looks massive. They had an applicable beer selection for the size of the place with growlers available. The staff were really friendly and inviting to talk to when we sat at the bar and changed the channel for us to watch sports. I wish they had more seating, we sat at the bar because the 4 tables were full and 2 of the tables had only 1 person sitting at them, waiting for their to-go orders. It's hard on the dine-in customer when your carryout people are taking up most of the tables. One of the staff members said they were hoping to start delivery soon, which might help the seating situation. Also they have a special for Wed's- buy an 18" and get 1/2 off an appetizer. We have been looking for a change from our usual pizza place and decided to give Spectator a try. We checked out the menu online and decided to order when I got there since they had a beer I like and didn't mind waiting. When I got there I first noticed that the prices were higher than what was posted online. Then, the beer I wanted was no longer offered. When I mentioned these things they said the new owner doesn't have control of the old website yet, but it would change this winter. That seemed odd to me. Also, when ordering, neither of the pizzas were in their computer system, even though they were listed on their menu. Anyway, I waited about 20 minutes for my two pizzas, beerless. While waiting I noticed that the place wasn't very clean. The employees seemed a little unorganized as well, and I overheard one of them using un-kid-friendly language. Now to the pizza. Basically it was awful. Even my kid hated it. Chewy crust that had so much cornmeal on the bottom that it was like having a mouthful of sand. Overly salty, and yet totally lacking flavor. The red sauce tasted like it came from a #10 can. The ratios of ingredients were off and not cut to appropriate sizes. Nothing like taking a bite and half the toppings come off. I've been in restaurant management for many years. Seems like the new owner isn't very hands on, definitely not a foodie or a chef, and doesn't know much about running a restaurant. read more

Slightly above average pizza, HORRIBLE SERVICE. This place is uderstaffed, incredibly disorganized and does not have the oven capacity to keep up with busy times. Because there is such a lack of decent pizza in West Linn I have tried to like this place. Calling in advance for take out is useless; half the time they don't answer the phone and if you do place an order it's hit or miss that it will be ready or cooked properly when you arrive to pick it up. I have tried just going in ordering a beer and waiting for the pizza to be made. That doesn't work either. Unless you happen to come in at a slow time or have lots of time to waste .... This was our first time visiting. It was a small and attractive place and smelled WONDERFUL! Strike #1, the ordering: When we ordered, the woman at the register was rude and rushing us. We tried to order a 14" pizza and we're told they were out of the 14" pizza dough. Jokingly (and partially serious) I asked, is there a discount since we'll have to order the 18". The woman replied, "You'll have to talk to the manager about that. What do you want?" We were with friends so we went ahead and ordered a 18" (which of course was more expensive) and 1 slice of cheese. Strike #2, the wait time: After 30 minutes of waiting we watched the table next to us, who sat down 15 minutes after us) get their cheese slices. We checked with the manager and he said our order was almost ready without verifying our order. We ended up waited 40 minutes for 1 slice of cheese pizza. Still waiting for our 18" pizza we watched the woman who worked the register leave with two 18" pizzas and the family that ordered behind us get their 18" pizza to-go. After two more discussions with the manager we FINALLY got our pizza after 60 minutes! Strike #3, the manager: We talked to the manager on FOUR separate occasions! Every time we spoke with him he was full of excuses and light with the apologies or action plan. He kept explaining he was training and they ran into a hard patch and were trying to recover. While speaking with me he wouldn't look at me, spoke over me, and interrupted me. On the fourth occasion speaking with the manager he refunded our money for the 18" pizza. We love supporting the local joints, but we will NOT be returning while this manager continues to run it this way. Now we're driving home, to Tualatin, with an 18" pizza in the car torturing me! Updated review: came in and they refunded the cost of the pizza with out a problem. Pizza is now done right, bumps them up a star. If they could work on the rest of the staff, they'd be worthy of my 5stars. Will give them another chance sometime in the future. Honestly disappointed. Ordered the Alfredo pizza and it looked wonderful...at least from the top. First bite in and all hands are black from how heavily burnt the pizza was. Not brown, but black! We even left a tip for the speedy service, I guess it's too good to be true. Tried really hard to like the pizza and continue eating it but after 2 slices we just couldn't bear it. No big deal, this happens and we understand. Called in to ask about coming in and getting the pizza exchanged, the guy on the line didn't even greet me, was unprofessional and sounded very annoyed from the start. If anyone should be annoyed that should be me. Not happy with the service. Pizza is forgivable and mistakes happen but you should really work on customer service. Unless something changes dramatically, my prediction (write this down folks) is that by April 15, 2016, this place will close down or go through yet another owner change. I went in today at lunch time, completely dead. I had 2 slices of the olympia pizza and the chicken wings. I got my two slices within 5 minutes, they were the average size slices but the dough was too crispy after the second heating. Toppings were chintzy. Taste was actually pretty good if they had more toppings and the slices weren't nearly burnt. Unfortunately, each slice was $5. So I got two slices of mediocre quality pizza for $10. I'm being generous here, I think the slices are worth about $3.50. The chicken wings were boneless and unfortunately also completely tasteless. I ordered the buffalo wings and my six year old who thinks her peppermint toothpaste is too spicy said that the chicken was bland, yes she actually used the word bland, they're learning opposites at school and evidently the opposite of spicy is bland. The portion size of the chicken wings was HUGE, TONS of chicken, but a large portion of bad food is still bad food. The basket of chicken 'wings' was $8. So I paid $18 + $1 tip for some PRETTY below average food. Service was better than average, the one poor kid who was there seemed overwhelmed with call in orders. Owners of Spectator: I'm not trying to be cruel, I really want your restaurant to succeed, I really do, the above review is in the spirit of giving you some really honest and much needed feedback. This place has changed hands a few times and I finally went to taste the new owner's pie. One of the worst customer service experiences I've ever been involved in. I waited in line behind only one other person for 15 minutes without any acknowledgement from the staff, while they served people sitting down and took phone orders. When I finally got to the register the guy told me I couldn't have any of the slices just out of the oven or even buy a whole pie that was sitting there! They were phone orders that had been taken after I had been waiting standing there in front of them! They told me it would be at least 40 minutes before they could serve me anything...unbelievable. Not sure how I feel on this. After West Linn lost BJ Willys Wood Fired Pizza, a good somewhat upscale pizza place is nonexistent. Past year or so, Spectator Pizza Pub has gone down. Service and pizza in inconsistent. Came in tonight around 6 and there were maybe 3 tables of people and when I approached the order spot- employee immediately told me it's gonna be a minimum of an hour and half!! If this is how it is, and not even a major sporting day (March Madness Super Bowl) this town has gotta get something else for pizza. Normally go to Round Table- good solid pizza zero atmosphere. Please someone else move to West Linn with a Good Pizza place that has a bar and cool to bring family. read more
