Ya'll I really wanted to like this salon. I really thought I'd finally found a nail salon that could slay my nails AND provide amazing customer service. But, I guess that's too much to ask for. On January 18th, my cousin and I had two appointments with Perla. I booked the ombre full set (coffin shape) with stones, while my cousin just wanted a simple gel mani. I found Perla on Instagram and her work is dope, I'm very particular about shape. It took a while because we both had to soak, but we didn't mind waiting. Similar to the reviews here, my nail tech definitely started eating once their food was delivered. Is this the most professional establishment? Absolutely not. But, a girl's gotta eat so I didn't care. We both ended up getting our nails done and paid Perla VERY well for her services. I left happy with the result and so did my cousin. 4 days later, 2 of my nails break on the day that I was supposed to take my college graduation pictures. I drive all the way to the salon just for Perla to not be there. Should I have contacted her prior to coming? Probably. However, if its last minute and it's a set that YOU did, I should be accommodated. Perla ends up coming about 10min after I texted her saying I waiting at the shop. The girl had the nastiest attitude I have ever experienced in a nail tech, EVER. I don't know if the girl was going through something that morning or whatever, but if she didn't feel like servicing PAYING customers with a smile on her face then she shouldn't have come. While she's fixing my nails, she barely speaks to me. Damn near rolled her eyes out of her head when I mentioned the acrylic powder she was about to use was not the same color as the one she originally used. I get my nails fixed (which I SHOULD NOT HAVE HAD TO PAY FOR) and I leave, knowing I would not be coming back to the establishment. Fast forward to today, my cousin had an appointment for another gel manicure with Perla for her birthday. Keep in mind, made this appointment via the booking site found on Perla's IG over a WEEK ago. This morning Perla texts her some nonsense about her not doing gel manicures. That is BS. It clearly says "gel manicure" listed under her services. Here's my suggestion. NEVER bite the hand that feeds you. If you want to make money, but also gain long lasting clientele, LEARN HOW TO CHECK THE ATTITUDE AT THE DOOR. To the establishment, require your nail techs to take a course on professionalism and how to provide customer service. I went to this nail salon for the first time one week ago while visiting NY. I got a fill in with gel + one nail design for $50. I also got a Pedicure with gel (with the youngest girl in there) = $40 Although the girls were fairly polite to me, the skill level of both girls that worked on me were LOW. I had to constantly request that they fix and clean this and that and yet left with unsatisfying results. Pedicure : The young lady barely cleaned off the cuticle area and the paint job was messy. Fill in: I had to point out spots she missed to paint and cover. She also excessively filed the sides of my nails when shaping causing it to burn multiple times. I could tell that they were still learning and had not perfected their craft. Especially the youngest girl that worked on my feet. I was so ready to get out of there and thought I could just deal with it. However, one week later I'm finding myself ready to pay and get everything fixed elsewhere. A total of $90 gone to waste. The workers here are extremely talented & they will SLAY your nails.. however theres no professionalism here and it's honestly a shit show. I waited nearly 2 hours to be seen and I kept getting told "10 more minutes" by the lady at the front "desk" who clearly didn't know what she was doing or what was going on. She was telling 3 people they were going to the same person next.. HOW? When I finally got seen, my friend was told she would be seen by the girl next to me however when the girl next to me was done with her client another person who came AFTER us was seen instead. While getting my nails done I was cut twice and the "technician" kept asking me if I wanted gel, which I believe is an $5 up-charge & when I kept saying no she seemed to have an attitude. Their regular nail polish selection is terrible btw. When asked what shape I wanted I said I wanted them slightly tapered because a shape is also a $5-$10 up charge & instead of just giving me the regular nails I wanted I was given coffin shape which forced me to have to pay the extra fee. Though, she slayed my nails & I do absolutely love them, between the service that was provided and the length of the wait the price was not worth it. If you're okay with waiting extremely long to get your nails done & being over charged for their service, then this is the place for you. I will probably not go back unless I need to. read more

Visited them a few days ago for the holidays and after arriving around 7pm, they go and tell me around 9pm that they are not taking more people. I was completely upset at the thought of wasting 2 hours. After speaking to the nail associates and the manager, they took me. That was beyond ridiculous. I just got my nails done here. Needed to try something close to home. Mistake! Came in for acrylic fill and matte color with two stone design on my fingers. Once I got home the glue for the stone is sticking out and the color is already looking dirty. I tried cleaning it off because maybe it was from my clothing and now there are scratch marks. $55 for TERRRRRIBLE nails not even an hour later. When I know the job is really good I tip great. I regret giving anything just to be nice. Plus walking away from me without even letting me know and constantly stopping to talk. I get there is a benefit on working and being able to do your own thing. But this was extremely unprofessional and I would never come back. This place is a waste of money. When I arrived with my friend we signed our names is a sheet. I asked the lady how much a mani pedi was since the place is Cash only. (I wanted to make sure I had enough cash). The lady informed us that a regular manicure was $15 and a pedi was $25. I thought $15 for a manicure very expensive. But I had heard this place was good. Ok so I had a seat and notice there was a manicurist who was open. So I asked if she was available since it was just me waiting (my friend got seat with someone right away). The lady asked me what I was gonna do and I said a manicure. Her response was that "she does not do manicure" I was surprised but said ok. I went to the reception and asked how long before I was seated. She pointed to a girl and said she'll do it. I went the girl started taking of my polish and filing my nails and cutting my cuticle. She told me wash my hands and she then started painting my nails. No base coat just top coat. That was all and charged me $15. I was in shock as to the service of a manicure that they charge so much for. I didn't even bother to get a pedicure. I just left. Never again wasting my time nor money. So how do I start I've been hear not that long ago with my acrylics. Two days later my nails were falling of, literally. Also bad customer service, everyone is just yelling across the wide room at the same time. Now I go two days ago to give it another try instead this time I come on time before 6:30 on a Friday, I couldn't have been more disappointed ever. I've seen other nail salons that may look crappy and do a better job at doing nails than this one. I paid 25$ for a gel manicure that is already peeling of in less than two days. In addition I waited more than two hours to be reached, while I was half way sitting all the staff just keeping screaming and yelling constantly. Once I was taken to "start" my nails I have one lady staring to shape my nails, the other one cuts my cuticles then another lady to top it painting my nails after a whole hour. Constantly talks. Please find somewhere else to get your nails done! My first time here there was an altercation between a customer and tech, and I regret ever coming back again. Every time afterwards there's been some kind of drama. I've literally had to wait 3 hours to get my nails done while people with alleged "appointments" skipped me, yet when I've had an appointment I still had to wait for walk-ins before me. To make things worse the nail techs have the nastiest attitudes. Maybe if they paid more attention to customers instead of blasting music and sitting around smoking hookah, the wait time would be shorter. I love this place! Though at times it can be a little too loud or chaotic for my likings, i can appreciate the talent and hard work from some of these women. I truly love my nail tech helen with the nice eyes! She always hooks my nails up! Pedi girl... Aris... Shes amazing!!!! She does a wonderful job and takes pride in providing great services! Pedro killed my hair!! Did such an amazing job! It took all day long but it was worth it. I recommend this place and Pedro to everyone. Only thing is this place is CASH only. My nails are pretty not neat but pretty. I'm typically weary of one stop shops that offer hair, nails, lashes, waxing, and something new--Lip plumping injections. I should have come to Yelp not IG. I got to the Beauty Bar at 11:01am. My tech had not arrived. 15 min later still no tech. 30 min later she strolls in. My annoyance is medium high at this point. Customer service doesn't live here. I found this place on instagram. A lot of good nail techs posting their work that I knew my usual around the way nail tech don't do. Like the studs, ombré and chrome design. So decided to give it try. I made a appointment on their website to see jenn, I loved all her work on social media. I arrived early didn't mind the wait. Keep in mind ppl this place is located in the south Bronx. I waited comfortability on their couch watching music videos on their flat screen for Jenn to finish with a client. Soon as I sat down with her she was very kind and sparked great conversation. She showed interest in getting to know a little about me as she did my nails. I saw Marilyn's (my nail tech's work) on instagram and decided to message her because I was interested in getting holographic nails, and so few nail salons in NY offer the service. I asked for her hours, and although she said she starts work at 11am she came strolling in around 1pm. When I first walked into the nail salon I said hello and I didn't get any response, it wasn't until I was sitting in the waiting area and saw another girl sign up for an appointment that I realized I would have to do the same. Because it was my 21st birthday I still had high hopes that the experience would end well. I was wrong. I left the shop having paid $85 (+ tip $2 she deserved nothing tbh) and 3 cuts on my fingers. I've never bled so much in a nail appointment before. It was way over priced for the service that I received and I WOULD NOT recommend for anyone to go there. This was the first and last time I will be getting my nails done there. It's been 2 days since I got my nails done and the cuts are nowhere near healed. The quality of the work here is great. My nails last 3 weeks without needing to get a fill. Natalie is a great technician and really does an amazing job. HOWEVER, this nail salon is more like a cheap Dyckman bar than an actual salon. There is music BLASTING at all hours of the day, people drinking beers and nemos (INCLUDING THE TECHNICIANS), and hookah smoking (INCLUDING THE TECHNICIANS). When I go to a salon, I expect relaxation. I should not have to remove my headphones because I can't hear my own music or blow away the smoke of some technician doing hookah right next to me. Just because your salon is in the Bronx doesn't mean you have to run it like some ratchet Dominican BBQ (I'm Dominican too so I can say that). Tips for the owner: 1. Keep the music at a sane volume so that people can actually speak to their technicians, or hear their own music, maybe even read a book. It's a BEAUTY SALON. 2. Hookah and drinking should not be permitted in a place where there are children. You should be role models in the community. I would never bring my kid here. 3. Have your technicians actually look presentable and not like hot messes. Maybe a consistent uniform of some sort. 4. Make your mind up about credit cards. Some days you guys take it, and some days you don't. If you're afraid of people scamming you, CHECK FOR ID (I haven't seen anyone do this since ya'll opened). read more

So I go in on a Monday morning around 11 o'clock and I walked in the shop and there was a lot of nail tects standing around talking and maybe about two clients soaking their nails off. So I proceed to look at their price chart and they look like they were in my spending range. So a lady comes up to me and asked what service I want so I can proceed to ask her how much would it cost to get ombre nails. Mind u I'm getting a fill in she says $75. So I already know that would be out of the question so I sit down and she gets ready to take off my gel that I already have on my nails. When it comes to perfecting the shape, they are simply amazing! However; I waited almost 2 hours before someone called my name because the nail techs where just prancing around the place talking. I walked out of there paying $44 (before tip) having only got done a filling and gel polish! These people had the nerve to charge me additional just for taking off the previous polish I had on my nails. I don't get the negative reviews, I travel all the way to The Bronx to get my nails there. My nails stay good for 3 weeks, no cap. One time I forgot my rings and when I came back they kept it for me. I only come here for Perla , she's the best nail tech I've had , and always does clean neat work . Always pleasant and professional and works hard despite being pregnant. Now the "beauty bar " is a different story . The place is not welcoming , it has an off-putting smell and there's flies . The receptionists are always on their phones and not paying attention to customers It's loud and definitely not spa like . I witnessed a "pedicurist" scooting in her chair around the salon to get any products she needed ; she took breaks to talk with others and left her customer more than once. I was considering getting my pedicure there but once i noticed her work ethic I changed my mind, besides it doesn't look too sanitary. This establishment seems to have a good reputation on Instagram, advertising the many services they claim to provide. My friend booked a simple mani/pedi for us both at 5 p.m. on a Saturday. We arrived a few minutes before our scheduled appointments & there was no one available to provide these services. It was like a hot potato game .. whichever girl was asked she'd pass on to the next girl and so on. Quite honestly this place caters more to the business of acrylics which clearly is where the money is. I've been growing out my nails for a few months after severe acrylic damage and wanted to continue with a natural approach. I waited 20 minutes for someone to finally do my pedicure as my friend had her manicure done. When it was time for my manicure, again...a hot potato game was in play. The girl who I was sent to agreed and then walked away, leaving me standing there waiting for her. As I was about to sit down another woman came to speak to her about acrylics and there was hesitation as to whether she would start my manicure or her acrylics. When she began to cut my cuticles I was badly nicked on my ring finger from both sides of the nail...when she filed my very long natural nails, she was harsh and filed them as though they were tips which caused them to lose length & shaped them weirdly. I should've opted for a gel manicure since that would've been a quicker option but instead I was set on regular natural polish, one of my nails hit their small fan as I was positioning myself in an awkward space & I told her immediately. She said she would fix the polish, but she started on the customer with the tips instead & I knew she'd make me wait till it was time for her customer to wash her hands .. which would be a ridiculously long wait. I tipped both women though their service did not deserve it, but time is still money, right? I left really upset & unhappy with my experience, bought the exact polish at rite aid & fixed my nail at home myself. My friend was probably attended first because she is pregnant, but that did not guarantee she would have a better experience or post review. Her pedicure was done by an extremely young girl who did not seem to know what she was doing. Instead of putting lotion on her feet she used vaseline which made for a very angry pregnant lady & a very slippery walk home. Usually I do my own mani/pedi at home but wanted some girl time with my best friend & decided to hit up this place with the great Instagram reviews ... I will not return & I will not recommend it either, not for basic services atleast ... if you want to splurge on $100+ acrylics then that's about all they're good for. Horrible customer service and the actual nail service was basic. Came to the nail salon on a Saturday afternoon; forgot the specific nail tech's name due to my phone dying. However I remember once's name which is Perla. There was no warm greeting and didn't even ask what type of style I was looking for or how I want my nails to be done. Matter of fact, I couldn't even get my nail idea pass her eye roll and literal huffing. Any time I made a suggestion she had a horrible attitude which made me uncomfortable and want to leave but my nail was being chiseled by only ONE nail head and my cuticles were being clipped without apologies. My nails were -1/10 compared to the overcharged $60 price that doesn't even come close to quality. And let me say that she didn't even wipe off the nail polish that she left around my nails!! This is place is soooooooooooo unprofessional, the entire shop lacks good work ethic. They overcharge everything and it's not even worth it. While they are doing your nails they will have a full conversation with someone else and keep stopping and doing your nails. The receptionist is not that friendly either. Some of the ladies who do nails do not know how to do nails and when you try to correct them about your nail shape or a design they catch attitude but you're the one paying with your money. One major thing any potential customers who waltz into this salon must know is that the majority of the "nAiL tEcHniCiAnS" here are not licensed. Therefore no, they do not know how to push back and trim cuticles correctly, no they do not know what the difference is between MMA and actual acrylic meant for nails. No they do not know how to put a drill to your nail bed without damaging it. They do know how to cut you, be late to appointments that THEYYY scheduled, overcharge, be loud as all hell, and yes....eat...while doing....your nails. Great designs tho. read more

This place has some talented nail techs but they lack in professionality. I contacted one of the techs through Instagram and she gave me her number to use to contact her instead. I went for an appointment and she was lowkey rude, but she gave me a beautiful set of ombré nails so I couldn't really complain. When it came time for a fill, I personally texted her and made and appointment, but she didn't show and also gave no explanation as to why she didn't show. She has my number and couldn't even text me to tell me what was good. Another tech offered to do my nails which I had no problem with, but I guess they weren't as good as my original set because I easily broke two nails within a week of having them redone. She also tried to charge me $48 for a fill before tip; when I asked her how much the fill was, she stammered and said she's charges $40, and I told her the other tech I was originally supposed to see said it would be $35. I had a nail removed and fixed, so she said that was an extra $5 leaving me at a total of $40. Where did the extra $8 come from?? I'm glad I asked her otherwise I would've been played. They recently did a small renovation to make more space for clients but they installed a bar that has no leg/knees room for the client, so you're basically forced to stand the whole time. That was the most annoying part of my second visit. So if you don't mind the unprofessionality, this is the place for you. My friend brought me here for the first time. I wanted a regular manicure although they tried to convince me to get gel (which I never do). My nail tech DID NOT USE BASE COAT with my black manicure!!! Do they not understand the importance of base coat!? Anyways, she cleaned my cuticles nicely and the paint job came out alright. But at the end of it all, she charged me $15!! I was overcharged for a manicure with no base coat... Don't be scammed and mad like I was. The manicure was definitely not worth it. Okay sooooo 2 stars is being way to generous . This place has all the hype for NOTHING. Let's begin with that the only reason I come is because normally the pedicurist does a good job. Anyways the tub was black looked very unsanitary and while getting the pedicure the pedicurist felt the need to start a WHOLEEEE conversation to the point where I had to tell her that I need her to do her job because I have places to be . really bad from the get go! so i found perla on ig she has really nice pics up and i sent her one with a pic of my natural nails and ask her if she can do it, she answers yes and i ask her at what time the next day. She tells me 12pm. I arrive 12pm on the dot and she has 2 ppl in front and says that she just said to come at that time but i can put my name... So now im putting my name and im going to have to pick up my child and have him sit down by 2:30 to get my nails done! she starts and doesn't even clean under my nails, no scrub nor lotion and then she starts telling me she cant do what i first asked and she said yes to.. so by this time my son is with me and i just want to get this over with so i go along with it! My nails look like a novice did them and then when shes finished i ask about my pedi and she says she doesnt do pedis so now i go to another girl which was nice but doesnt do designs so i just got a plain boring color! ... So honestly not worth it if you have natural nails!! I guess nowadays the only way to get a good mani is to have fake acrylics on smdh! read more

As a loyal customer I will not be returning to this salon. LADIES DONT BELIEVE THE HYPE OF INSTAGRAM. This salon has turn to dirt. The owner is always running late on her clients. Thinking she's a celeb. Then there's this new manager Vee. Girls she's the worse. She treats her employees horrible. Then she's acts all fake and once you leave the salon talks bad about you. Oh wait it gets better the nail tech are so unprofessional starting with Jen this psycho. Acting all innocent and all. She always puts and excuse on the service you want to get done. She's on the phone half the time and if she gets upset at one of the guys she's with yah the time. ThAts is it. Your nails pay the price. Raisa takes forever to do your nails she's always on her phone or talking to other people. Pilar chargers you a arm and a leg for a simple full set. Then have a blonde girl who's hands are always shaking gosh she be cutting the clients. Besides that employs are always in and out of this place. They always quit. It feels like a beauty school. Hiring people with no experience. One pedicure lady some shirt with black hair lord. She's just too much. Being extra looking for attention. You can never have a descent experience. With all the loud music of the employees arguing and being so ghetto. I wish I could give this a no STAR!!!!! read more
