Customer Service is a A+ David is helpful at the front desk. Room and hotels needs upgrades really bad. I gave it a 2 star because of the cleanliness, NO elevator to go to the second floor with all your traveling stuff and suit cases... vending machine's are on the first floor however they still have second floor signs up that leads you to a desk. The hotel need TLC. The hotel smelled like a ash tray. Halfway had cigarettes ashes on the ground. Hand prints, minor spills from past guest were left unnoticed by housekeeping. Jacuzzi was relaxing however needs to be updated. Timer for jacuzzi, we couldn't find it at first because the bathroom door was open blocking it and we had to use cell phone to call front desk for help finding it. Walls is scratched up. Other guest at the facility appear to live there. Buffet is closed due to the COVID-19 and not sure when it will reopen. The pictures of our room versus booking.com are not accurate at all. The pictures of the Newark Garden Hotel rooms on booking.com were nicer and more updatedThis hotel has potential however needs TLC, more Cameras, needed a upgrades, and maybe a contract with a local restaurant for deliveries $10 or more?

We can see why this is so popular in the winter. It's just simply perfect. I could picture being snowed in like in the movies and loving it. This is located on a nice road very easy to get to. Not far from the bustling downtown of Geneva. But far enough to be nestled in the country. We even got pizza delivery here which was an awesome surprise that the local pizzeria offers. We enjoyed the clean and wonderful hot tub. The interior had everything we could have needed and more. Thank you for the eggs and the coffee creamer! The beds were comfortable and everything was very clean. For being a historic home everything had such nice charm and style. The bathroom was fully updated and the downstairs bedroom had the perfect vibe I'd love in my own home. Beautiful flowers galore. The host Diane was friendly via the app and self check in was a breeze. We were left alone and felt totally safe and comfortable. I'd love to come back with my husband for a get away. This is a great place, highly recommend. Note though... when trying to locate it. Our gps took us up the hill along the backside of the owners house.. this was a dirt pathway - not the right way. The sign was deceiving. The cottage is directly next to the house, right off the paved road. Bonus points to the host for having the awesome array of dvds and games. This was so fun for us girls.

The owners are kind and nice. You may get a fun visit from a black cat named Salem (loves milk and pets). The fireplace was my favorite. I sat and drank beer in front if it and did some coding and was totally lovely. It has a little warming nook and a rack to hang a dutch oven over the fire if you really want to go old school and cook on it. Just as lively was multiple champagne drinking sessions in the hot-tub. Lots of dry wood to burn. Recommend that you bring a bit of your own firewood just to keep the supply up as well as a bit of spring water if you're gonna cook / drink a lot and stay in.

Really intimate surroundings with only four rooms so you could have chats in the morning. West coast warning: if the fire dept needs to be called a loud siren goes off and it is super loud, especially when asleep. We found this out in the morning. I thought for a second we were being invaded by Canada! Lol.

There is always coffee available in the dining room (courtesy of the Keurig machine), and in the afternoon/evening, there are fresh cookies! This charming B&B only has 4 rooms, so you'll never be overrun with people. You're very close to the old lighthouse and the water, as well as the 'downtown' area of restaurants, bars, ice cream, etc. The rooms are a bit small (especially the bathroom), as that was the way rooms were built in the 1800s, but our room served its purpose of giving us a close location while visiting family. **If you are not from New York (or a small-ish town?), you must know this information!!! In small towns like Sodus, the fire department is all volunteers. When someone calls for them, to alert all the volunteers that they are needed, they set off a crazy loud air siren!! I'm all for nostalgia and quaintness of years past, but come one people, everyone has a cell phone. Call those volunteers! When the first (of 3) sirens went off at 11:00pm, Jim G and I didn't know what to think! Was Canada finally sick of our bs and coming to invade? Was the nuclear power plant not too far away melting down? Was a tornado a-comin'? No one was leaving their homes or driving off in a panic, so we tried to ignore it and sleep. Then another one a bit later. Then the final one at 4:00am! Our fellow travelers found our fear hilarious at breakfast! We can laugh about it now, but seriously, catch up with the technology, lol! Thanks, Jerry and Claudine!

My stay at the Hampton Inn was pretty decent. It's definitely not a lake view like the hotel…read moreadvertises but the lake is within walking distance. The staff was friendly, rooms were clean, continental breakfast wasn't half bad, it's within walking distant to several restaurants and bars and there is plenty of parking. Called to make a reservation the day of, it was a Wednesday and they were able to accommodate us. We got a room with a queen size bed and it wasn't huge but it was good enough and the bathroom was spacious. The pillows on the bed might be the best pillows I have ever slept on in any hotel, EVER, and I have stayed in many hotels. So fluffy and wonderful. So one thing I have to say: they have coffee downstairs in the "lobby" area 24 hours a day and they also have cookies. Yes, soft, wonderful, delicious cookies. They are enormous and stare you right in the face when you walk in the hotel. You may think you have willpower, but when you are coming back to this hotel after a night of drinking in Geneva, willpower gone. Those cookies were darn delicious. Yes, cookies, plural. They have a pool and a little fitness center too, which we didn't utilize but maybe you will. Their continental breakfast was definitely impressive, for the most part, as long as you didn't intend on eating very healthy. Their hard boiled eggs were bad, two mornings we had continental breakfasts here, both times, the texture just wasn't right. They had oatmeal in a crackpot, which was my go to because it was one of the only healthy options. The toppings they had seemed healthy until you really looked at what it was. There were "almonds" but they were coated in loads of sugar. There was cinnamon sugar and there were also candied fruit. Luckily there were some peanut butter packs and I added that to my oatmeal with a banana and was set. They had make your own waffles, turkey sausage, omelettes, cereal, bagels, muffins and toast. Their coffee wasn't my favorite, but it also wasn't the worst. They had 2% milk, skim and half and half out. I thought the rooms were a tad expensive for what they were, but it was convenient that we didn't have to get a cab to go to the various restaurants and bars in the area. They even let me leave my car in the parking lot overnight while we headed to the end of the lake and stayed in Watkins Glen. I would definitely stay here again.

Under construction with terrible aesthetics everywhere. Infuriating that hotels charge full rates…read morewhen they don't provide full services. Room was fine. Nowhere to park. Single elevator. Just a sad situation.
