Horrific customer service. The lady attended front desk was rude. 2 hour wait and only 2 people waiting. Newberg needs a new urgent care.

Zero stars My daughter has a work related injury, smashed both of her hands at work. She's been out of work for three months her physical therapist still says she's not ready to go back. Recently her other hand began hurting as well. The doctor basically told her that she was faking the pain. She had an MRI. The doctor said well it doesn't show anything so basically she told her that she's a hypochondriac and she needs to go back to work. My daughter's hands hurt so bad that she can't even comb her hair or take a shower. She is not the kind of person who wants to get out of work. She loves her job and she's scared to death to lose it. This doctor should not be a doctor. She was rude. She wouldn't listen. She talked over her. It was the worst experience my daughter's ever had at a doctors's office. I am uncertain why her workplace sends her to urgent care. It seems like a doctor in an office would be better to see than an urgent care doctor. I am very unhappy. I will be going with her to her next appointment. My son-in-law is a physical therapist and we will be getting his opinion on this. The therapist she sees is not my son-in-law, but is in agreement with him about her treatment. This doctor is very rude and has zero concern about her patent . All she wants to do is push her to toward surgery, today she told her to get injections. She's injured you don't get injections so you can go back to work and hurt it again. According to the website "Newberg Urgent Care is dedicated to providing timely, quality medical services". What a joke. Avoid this place! There are better urgent cares in Newberg and Sherwood. We arrived well before closing and the door was locked. Some outdated COVID signs were on the door. When we tried to call to get in an old, crackly voice said "we have seen our last patient for the day". We needed urgent care (you know, urgent). The lack of empathy is very obvious here. They just don't care. If you have a problem take a pill or take a drive, but don't stop here! read more

I was originally going to give 5 stars -- as the staff and most of the doctors at Newberg Urgent Care took excellent care of me during one of the most painful and stressful times in my life. Over several weeks, five different doctors treated my documented work-related spinal injury, all agreeing I needed: * Strict work restrictions (no bending, twisting, kneeling) * Ongoing physical therapy * MRI if nerve damage or muscle spasms persisted I was forced to use urgent care after Aetna and Providence severed their contract, cutting off my access to my neurosurgeon (who performed my spinal surgery -- four vertebrae removed). Then on 6/10, (just 2 days after what I thought was my final visit before returning to work with my usual restrictions) I got a phone call telling me I had to come in yet again-- this time to see Dr. James Sohriakoff, a doctor I had never met before. He has no neurosurgery background, yet in a 15-20 minute rushed visit: * He yelled "What's your baseline?!" repeatedly -- I was confused and in tears. * He said "there's nothing wrong with you -- you're just scared" -- when I had clearly suffered a re-injury on top of prior spinal surgery. Of course I was scared -- this could've been catastrophic. He refused to look at the medical records I had brought with me. * He ignored all prior documentation without even ordering the MRI that had been recommended. * He stopped my physical therapy and declared I could return to work with no restrictions -- a reckless decision my neurosurgeon would never have made. * He also wrongly claimed my Worker's Comp case was "closed," which he had no authority to decide. Told me it was my last visit there and sent me on my way. This was a blatant abuse of medical authority and an attempt to shut down my care and claim. I will never return to this clinic after this experience, and I strongly warn anyone -- especially those with complex injuries -- to avoid Dr. James Sohriakoff at all costs. If Newberg urgent care was the last place on earth offering healthcare and I had to see this doctor, I'd take my chances. If you value your health and your rights, stay far away. read more

Went in because I was having Afib. Saw Dr Fisher who was extremely helpful-did an EKG, ordered labs, was thorough in his care and recommendations. very little wait time, friendly staff, a good experience overall! read more

Absolutely shameful to call this a medical facility. Walk up to the door to be presented with a sign telling you to call to be let in. Rang, somebody answered and didn't say a word and hung up. I sat outside with a bloody rag in hand needing stitches for a laceration on my hand. After a few minutes I bailed and went to Legacy Go Health in Sherwood and received prompt service. I would not recommend Newberg Urgent care. If it was a choice between Newberg Urgent Care and a Drug Cartel clinic in the jungle. I would choose the Cartel. read more

I took my 7 year old daughter in for ear pain complaints and they did nothing but give me a large bill and than when I asked for referral to ENT a few months later because of continued ear complaints they refused! I went in recently for an eye infection and the front desk receptionist was nice enough to let me in and find an available practitioner to treat me. Once I was in, the doctor who treated me was so kind and the price of the visit ended up being very reasonable. They even called to check in on me a few days after, I highly recommend coming here for a visit! read more

I am only giving them one star because there is nothing lower! This place was so horrible! I went into them in horrible pain and I had a temporary insurance card sense I just switched insurances and because the card didn't say the name of the insurance she refused to help me even tho I kept telling her the name of the insurance. She wouldn't even look it up! I was leaning over the counter in horrible pain, begging to be seen and she couldn't care less. She just kept telling me "well we need you to pay the full Bill today" who does that?! I have never been to ANY urgent care room or emergency room where they couldn't bill you especially in the situation I was in! She was so rude and shitty! do NOT go here! The best walk-in clinic I've ever had the misfortune of having to visit. It's clean and welcoming and the staff is lovely. Dr White was so kind and thorough and I didn't have to wait any exorbitant amount of time (about 45 minutes). I am here for a second time this week because I'm not yet well and I was able to call ahead and get "in line" which is such a nice service. I highly recommend this urgent care clinic if you ever need it! read more

I personally didn't go here but my husband did. I take care of our finances so I paid the bill. From what I got from him, the doctor was great but I'm here to comment on the office staff. Often enough I find a doctor that I love but the office staff is less than kind or helpful. Not here, they were so kind and accommodating to what I needed with my payment. I called to pay my bill (in full) and they said they were going to give me a small discount. I figured 10% discount at most but it turned out to be a 30% discount!! I was so thankful that they gave me a break and if my family ever needs to go to an urgent care in the future, we will be going here. The office staff sold me, and that has never happened! read more

I have been going here for years. My family's primary care doctor is too far away for things like strep tests, flu tests and sprained ankles. The service in here is always top notch and I love the fact that it feels like such personalized care. It's staffed with local people and it shows! They really care about their patients. From easy check in to personalized service ( without a huge wait), to checking out at a desk to ensure all questions are answered and even receiving a follow up call the next day to check up on our status. This kind of personalized service is hard to find now a days! I highly recommend NUC for any immediate care needs you may have! read more

While vacationing in McMinnville, my wife contracted a rash of some sorts. Having had chicken pox previously, we wanted to make sure she didn't have Shingles (again). The urgent care in McMinnville was closed on this particular Wednesday, so we went to Newberg. Jessica, who assisted us at the front desk, couldn't have been nicer and more personable. She whisked us through the obligatory new patient paperwork and got my wife in to see Dr. Spencer Chung in a matter of 5-10 minutes. Dr. Chun examined my wife, determined the rash wasn't Shingles, and prescribed an ointment, with directions to return in a few days if it hadn't started to clear up. If she needs to go back, Dr. Chun said he would prescribe some oral steroids to combat the rash. She said he seemed very competent, explained everything to her thoroughly and sent us on our way, prescription in hand. This place sets the standard for what all urgent care facilities should be - efficient and competent, making the patient feel like what they are experiencing is important to them. Certainly, the fact that there was only one other patient there speeded things up, but we are confident that even with a full office, things would go smoothly. read more

Since my wife was going to be home late, I called ahead to see if I arrived around 5:45 if I could still do a pre employment drug test. I was told that that would be fine but when I showed up around 5:40 I was told they were closed for the day, but they were open at 9 the next day. My work starts at 7 so now I get to possibly miss part of the first day at a new job to take a drug test somewhere else, which I could have done if they would have said they would not see me in the first place. read more

I went to Newberg Urgent Care as a last resort. After two cardiac events, where I lost consciousness, and a visit to the ER with all normal test results, my discharge recommended a stress test. I communicated that I was not comfortable with the idea of getting on a treadmill. My PCP was not getting it and would not deviate from the discharge instructions. I met Dr. Karen Kustiritz at Newberg Urgent Care. Dr. Kurtiritz took the time to really listen to my concerns, assured me they were very valid. Even added that at my age a treadmill was not the best idea. Walked me thru why I should consider an stress echo test instead and how it would help understand what the condition of my heart was. The team at Urgent Care sent a referral to a cardiologist. Each member of the Urgent Care was gracious and understanding. I felt trapped by the medical system when I first walked in. Very poor, dangerous x-ray machine or tech! I brought my 13 year old in for an x-ray on her hand, she had a jammed finger and we wanted to know if it was broken. They took her back to the x-ray. After 10 minutes or so she still wasn't back so I went looking for her. They had trouble getting a good x-ray. Come to find out they had taken 8, (yes 8!) x-rays of her hand and still didn't have a clear one. They told me it's an older machine. That means levels of radiation that cause cancer are much higher than in newer machines. They told me they wouldn't normally use this machine on children, because of the higher doses of radiation, except that it's only her hand, so it's okay. But they took 8 x-rays! Without consulting me! And I was just in the next room! The fracture was hard to see on the x-ray, so ultimately the doctor referred us somewhere else. I paid a big fat fee for nothing AND my child was unnecessarily exposed to a lot of radiation. The more I think about it the angrier I get. I don't like to criticize people who are just trying to do their jobs, but this makes me crazy. They need to replace this machine and the tech needs to know that radiation from x-rays is dangerous, so don't take 8 of them on a child with an old machine. Later we had an x-ray taken at Newberg Hospital. Newer machine, very low radiation, it took one try and the doctor was able to see and diagnose the issue. read more

Not being from Oregon, I chose this urgent care for help with sinus congestion and a cough that I just couldn't get under control even with my inhaler. I was a bit concerned because of the overall rating I saw when I was choosing which clinic to try, but this seemed better than some of my other choices, and I felt so sick I had to get some relief somewhere. I have to say this clinic far and away gets 5 stars (I'd give it more if I could). The staff was friendly and professional. I was treated respectfully from the moment I walked in. I had very few papers to fill out/sign, and I was seen promptly. The physician I saw, Dr. Pitts, was not only professional but also friendly and unhurried with me. He listened intently and prescribed a combination I knew worked for me. Now, 2 days later, I am back at work, with NO bad coughing spells at all. Not only that, but they called to check on me 2 days later. For as sick as I was, I have to say, this team scored an A+ with me! Thank you to all who cared for me at Newberg Urgent Care!!! read more

I arrived at 5:30 p.m. and was told that the doctor would not see my son because he had already taken his last patient of the day. I told the receptionist that I checked the website and that it showed a 6:30 p.m. closing time. She then proceeded to tell me that the doctor takes his last patient around 6:00 or sooner if he feels like it so that they can close at 6:30 p.m. I told her that that information is not listed on their website and that my son had come home from school and was sick and that there had been an outbreak of strep at his school and I wanted to get him on an antibiotic if it was strep and I couldn't get there sooner. She again told me that he had already taken his last patient. I again told her that if would be helpful if it's common practice for the doctor to take his last patient earlier than closing time, then that should be disclosed on their website and other advertising materials. It was an HOUR before closing time. I didn't walk in 5 minutes before closing! I asked her, very nicely, if she would ask the doctor if he would please make an exception and see my son as I believed it was a case of strep throat and should be an easy diagnosis. She was reluctant and I asked her again to please just ask. She left for about 10 seconds and came back and informed me that the doctor was with a patient and she couldn't interrupt him and he would probably be awhile. No one wanted to help me or my son. I understand that they don't want to get stuck there all night seeing patients, but taking a last patient ONE HOUR before closing time is crap. They wanted to close early and go home and they don't care about their patients or future patients and business in general. I will be telling everyone I know not to go there. read more
