Have been going to Newburgh Brewery for years off and on, but feel they've really stepped it up these days. Always a wide variety of beers, the brown ale is my husband's fave while I tend to go for one of their ciders. Yesterday, there to watch the Premier League opener, I opted for a Gin & Tonic. Whoa, legit was probably the best G&T I've had a a bar in ages! They use a local gin from Warwick too. So if you're just going for drinks and a game/match you're in very good hands. But don't overlook their food offerings. The menu has been dependable (smash burger never fails) but they've added some new items and they are really super. The Birria tacos are a new item and are served in blue corn tortillas. Delicious. Poutine is absolutely yummy with savory gravy topped w fresh green onion. Even the chips & guacamole are stepped up w terrific double crunchy chips. The space is gorgeous, wide open and bright with high ceilings, wide tables and benches. So you never get that feeling that you've entered a black hole time warp on a lovely day. The real cherry on top of the place is the staff and vibe. Greeted kindly by every staff member with easy conversation about the game or what's on offer. It's a welcoming place for sure with an ace in the hole of how it strives to craft community first. This place has turned into an all-out sports bar. That's family friendly. The wings were really really good which I wasn't expecting and they turned out within about 15 minutes of I'm ordering, which I thought was fantastic considering there had to be at least 150 people in there ordering food during the World cup game. Came upstairs for a WRRV session. Tried some drink, some beverage, and some musical theater. First, the all important food rating: My friend gives high marks for his burger. It's Passover so I couldn't indulge myself but I can vouch the fries are solid potato, not greasy, skins on. All good stuff. But for this special event a number of food items were off the menu that I could have eaten. Beer rating: Up to you because most beers are IPA. Just two brown ales - a light 4.2% and a cherry? was about it. Fortunately they had a special mix of cider and brown ale that went with my meal, but I'm not an IPA guy so this is a little low for me. Finally, the other stuff. Wide open room is nice any day of the week. Friendly and patient service. Great of them to partner to host events like this. Local business - always gets my attention. Went for the octoberfest event. Good size crowd but they had enough staff to manage the food flow a drinks. Not much of a wait. That's how we met Derrick, the manager who was more then amazing and accommodating. While we experienced a small hiccupnwith our reservation and food, he seamlessly handled it with the utmost professionalism. Now for the details: The event space is large, open, bright and was perfect for our celebration. The food was fantastic, a mix of chicken and hamburger sliders. Initially, I was a bit skeptical about the stairs since it's located on an upper level, but don't worry. What's even cooler is that they have an elevator, making it very accessible. I actually enjoy that it's on an upper level because you get a nice view by the window (nothing crazy, but the water is nice to look at). The food here... WOW. So goooood! I had the chicken sandwich... although it can get a little messy, I honestly don't care. Their servings are humongous... Food-wise, this place is top-tier. Their drinks were also delicious! I had a margarita LOL but my boyfriend had a seasonal cider which was super tasty. This place is also HUGE! It's very spacious, and they have a stage too! No, but it was good enough and I will definitely go back again and chase it with their own brew of IPA beers. Had made a reservation for a group of 7 and had arrived on time. Wasn't too crowded and had a long table waiting reserved for us. We sat down and they explained their table service can which would need to me flipped to green if we were ready to order or red if no service was needed. They had plenty of long tables and high tops. We flipped the can to green and ordered some beers and ordered garlic parm fries. Fries were excellent and so flavorful! Beers were good and they had a great selection for everyone's tastes. The menu had a good variety of food-- typical bar food and some other diff foods. I had selected the empire smash burger and it was juicy and cooked as I had ordered. This is a regular spot for us! Between the beer, food and occasional music - we love it here! Megaboss is our favorite beer, but they have quite a selection. They also have (external) cider, wine and cocktails. Some of our favorite foods are the pretzel w beer cheese, chicken quesadilla and smash burger. Oh and don't forget the huge basket of fries....get the Cajun or Garlic Parmesan! During the normal service hours the staff has a fun system of using a can top side green and bottom red. You can take the tour by scanning the QC code on the menu, sitting on the table. The staff is really friendly. The concept is unique. There is a can on the table, and it's red on one side and green on the other. Flip the green side up for service, red side up for no service. Beer is the big ticket item here. IPA lovers heaven here! There are beer choices that aren't IPA. The menu is decent, and there are a good number of options to choose from. The waiter will ask for your credit card or debit card after you place your order. If you're a soccer fan looking for a place to watch matches, be wary of this place. Beer is good, food's decent, very nice space, but the customer service is dogshit. I messaged the bar (an official Bournemouth supporter's club and very soccer-forward place) over the summer asking if they were playing a particular game and was told by someone on here "Yes we will be!" I then drove 30 mins to the bar to be greeted by no such game being played and a bartender who looked at me like I had 2 heads when I asked him about it. Messaged them again later asking about this miscommunication and got no response. Last weekend, I messaged the bar again asking if a particular game was being played and never heard back (I still have not heard back to this day). Fast forward to this weekend. They've already burned me twice before but, being a Premier League fan in the Hudson Valley, there aren't many other options. They had posted about showing the game online so I figured it'd be a sure thing. Game was on at the bar until 28 mins in when the feed cut out (not on the Peacock side but on the bar side, as if the HDMI connection needed tending to). No employee even noticed it was out until 10 minutes later when I approached them about it. I told a bartender about it who told me that the guy who takes care of the soccer games had disappeared. Another 25 mins passed and there was seemingly zero effort by anyone there to fix the issue. The same employee then approached me to say she still didn't know where he was; apparently none of the other 4-5 employees who were there could attempt unplugging and plugging back in an HDMI cable or taking any other action to get the stream back up. At that point I just closed my tab and left; I could have just stayed home and had a way better experience, actually seeing more then 28 mins of a 90-minute match. I've tried repeatedly to become a regular at this place and spend money there, and each time I've been straight up ignored, disregarded, or misled by employees. When they actually show the game it's not a bad spot, but it's a total crapshoot whether you'll actually be able to see your game of choice there which is a shame. read more

I had been here before some years ago and rated them as 5 stars but this trip wasn't very good. We came in on a quiet Wednesday evening with some friends and the service wasn't nearly as good as last time. They have cans on the tables and you're supposed to flip it to green when you want table service. They're flipped to the red side when you don't want or need table service. We had flipped it to green and waited...and waited...and waited. It feels like if we didn't specially bring it to the servers attention she might have kept walking by. Good selection of beers and able to take a 4 pack home if you so desired. The beer was good, the views of the Hudson great, the chips and spicy jalapeño cheese dip was yummy. The ambiance was really cool. This brewery was built into an old steam engine factory, turned box factory, turned brewery. It had a lot of life and also live music. It does get pretty loud in there due to acoustics though. The service was good. People seemed nice. The downside was the beer. It was okay, but not like other local breweries. Additionally they did not offer flights, which makes it so you can't try as many. Not the worst beer I've had, but not sure if I'd frequent it. We came here for the beer and food to celebrate a friend's birthday and we appreciated that they took reservations. They have a lot of good rules in place for social distancing and the lady at the bottom floor explained it to us very well. The space is huge and they're very serious about social distancing. Overall the space was great with big distances between the tables. Our beers were great but the food was pretty mediocre. The best thing was probably the mushroom and bacon grilled cheese sandwich. Great flavors there. Everything else was mediocre. The nachos felt cheap and were covered in fake cheese. The burger was way undercooked with very cheap ingredients. We all ordered spicy fries but only a fraction of the fries were covered in their spicy powder. To top it off, our waiter was just really quiet and not that friendly. MY FAVORITE BREWERY TILL DATE! Came here on a Sunday afternoon post-hiking. Best decision of the day I tell you. Large cafeteria style seating with long wooden tables and benches. Also they have the COOLEST service concept! A beer can with a green side for "go" meaning you want a waiter to come to the table and a red side for "stop" meaning you don't need anything. Perfect so you can get service when you want it and the waiters dont have to keep checking in on you while your busy eating and having good conversation. Food- phenomenal.always heard appetizers were great at breweries and never thought the actual entrees would be this good but it was! Fried Chicken Sandwich- 9/10. My only complaint is that the buns are super small. Hawaiian Chicken Sandwich- 10/10. I love a good chicken-pineapple-bbq combo. Whats great is that they come with a choice of seasoned fries...with great flavors (spicy and rosemary garlic were both really good) and NO UPCHARGE! Beers- good options and you can get it by the can, the glass, or a pitcher. We got a pitcher of their hard cider which was light (both in color and taste) but it had a great crisp apple flavor. The only thing I could possibly say is that I wish they had more variety for light beers instead of mainly IPAs and ales which they have a lot of. We stopped here for lunch, you go up stairs in an old historic looking building and come to a huge space with large tables and benches. Turns out the space was once a paper box factory and something train related before that (can't remember but there's a self guided tour available). The menu had the standard burger fare but also empanadas, tacos, etc. We shared a bunch of food, I do remember the empanadas, both beef and spinach/cheese being quite tasty. My family enjoys beer and they liked what they ordered, most look likely IPAs. I had the cider which turns out it's made very nearby and it was a very good cider. When we went to the bar to order, (that's how they did it) I asked the bartender if he had a light beer? He said yes and walked over to the tap. I was under the impression that he was pouring me a small sample but nope, he poured me a full glass and gave it to me. I was like, okay, I guess I just bought this beer. My wife asked for a pumpkin beer but he said that they didn't have one.... What? No pumpkin beer in a brewery in October in upstate NY?? She decided on water. We ordered our food and picked a table to sit at. My smash burger came and it was just ok. My fries were again, just ok. I ordered the Mexican corn salad which downright sucked. My wife had chicken fingers that were very thick and okay and she liked the fries. Service was good. We've been to many breweries and always try to support local. Although we're not big beer drinkers, breweries are interesting with the different and flavored varieties.
