In all of these years, I've heard about the Newburgh Mall but never stepped my foot in until recently. Why not check out a mall when you have never been to one and see all the changes and what to offer. There's plenty of parking space in the front and back of the mall and was not hard to find, and a lot of empty ones. The lines need to be repainted as it's desperately needed. Stepping inside was no joke, a dead mall. Most or not many of the stores are closed even with big brand names such as FYE, The Bon Ton, Old Navy, and Kay Jewelers to name a few. I don't see in the future of new stores making their debut to open, if so, maybe some entertainment places. I'd say within a couple or more years it will be fully dead. No issues with the bathrooms and housing keeping in the main hallway, just a sad place to be with many closed stores. read more

What a sh*thole!!! Went here today passing thru figuring I'd see if I can pick up some new sneakers for my son. All I can say is not impressed. Huge potholes and puddles throughout the entire parking lot. The stores that are currently open are not worth the time. Looked in Champs which had no stock in the size we needed but the tall man that was working was semi helpful and said, they may get more in this week. Sorry but I won't be back after the Jimmy jazz experience..read on- We popped into Jimmy Jazz. This was probably the most unprofessional worker I ever encountered. The woman was dressed like a joke of a street gang member with the darkest eyeliner. She looked miserable and her attitude stated the same. She was clearly not thrilled with her job or the fact that you have to interact with customers to make a sale. Leave if you don't want to work with people. I went out of my way to ask for a current size and she had zero desire to check. Then she said "No" very rudely. I said okay thank you, to which she didn't even reply. F her and her wanna bee stature. Such ignorance. The library is the only place in town you have to wear a mask but the employees have their dirty sweaty mask off their noses. The books all looked so grimy. No thanks to that place too. Looks like an outbreak waiting to happen! The only store that seemed remotely clean was the bath & body works...which came in handy to wash my hands after the dirty feeling I got from this entire dilapidated experience. ..BBW I have to even ask: "how on earth is that store even surviving?!!" This place should not be called a shopping mall. While there are Sears, The Bed, Bath & Beyond, and Bon Ton, there are no clothing store whatsoever. This mall is missing all the major apparel companies. It looks filled with electronic kiosks and cheap jewelry stores instead. No dining option either. You probably see a pretzel and pizza parlor and that's it. They have McDonald's outside the mall. I don't know how this mall is still in business. read more

I don't frequent this mall often and will usually run in and out since it is right down the road from my house. There are two other major malls in the area, one west and the other east of this mall so I think people including myself opt for the larger mega malls than this smaller mall. I think you will appreciate it's neatness as I've been to smaller sized malls like this one and those small malls tend to look like a complete mess both inside and out. This place is actually pretty neat though they could use better more attractive name brand stores. It's a single level mall, not multi-level like the others in the region. read more

Stopped by on a saturday afternoon only to arrive and get that dead mall type vibe. Add Newburgh Mall to the dead mall list within 5 years unless theres a major renovation. Sadly very low foot traffic. Bon ton has gone out of business and there are no major anchor stores besides Sears. There is an office depot and bed bath and beyond though. Small mall too as you can walk end to end within 5 minutes. There are some bright spots though. The FYE is the most complete FYE I have seen. More than enough CD selections along with DVD and the latest entertainment merchandise. This seems to be one of the few stores in the mall that are doing well. Food selections are limited but there is a pizza place and pretzel stand, no food court. So I'm hoping they can strike a deal with a movie theatre or add a major anchor to revive the mall otherwise it doesn't look good. read more

This mall is definitely in distressed mode. The Bonton store closed and the only good store is the Game stop, T mobile store and the Pizzeria. Everything else is failing apart. The Sears store is teetering on bankruptcy and the best thing to do is to tear down this mall and build a new one. I hope the owners decide to do something because besides weekends this place is a ghost town. read more

What everybody is saying about this mall is completely true. It's a dead mall (granted I was there for an RGIS event at FYE inside just as the mall was closing last night). Security was kind to me however, when they noticed me sitting in their benches/chairs near the one entrance and came up to me to ask why (I was waiting for my co-workers to arrive.) Other than a Sears and Office Depot and a Bon-Ton (glorified Macy's-like knock-off), there is little in the way of names most people would recognize. As I arrived I took a quick peek down the other end of the hall going the opposite direction but saw little in the lines of names I recognized from other malls I've been to within 500 mile radius (MA to MD). I saw only a few cars in their biggest part of the parking lot at 9:05pm, but had seen other customers coming out of Office Depot as I arrived. It's BAAAAAD here. I mean if their were thirty cars in the lot, they had a lot of cars parked there. It wasn't snowing when I arrived, but hearing reports of heavy snow, this could have drove some shoppers from coming to it last night. The Newburgh Mall website lists a McDonald's on their website as being at this mall, but it's not technically in this mall. It's just offsite but on Mall property. I did like their decor. Inside the door there is a compass-like artistic drawing on the floor with nice soft padded chairs. It felt good to sit there for the few moments I sat there waiting for others to arrive. I'm in the mall right now and I feel like tying a rope around my neck. This place and its people are depressing. It reminds me of that Chevy Chase family vacation/National Lampoons movie when they go to Vegas and Chevy ends up in the smaller/depressing casino that has games like, "Guess a #" and, "pick a hand". I really don't like this mall that much. It has your typical essentials (Old Navy, Sears) for example. It's ok to go here for last minute shopping. Not much food options either. If anything, traveling to either Middletown or Poughkeepsie Galleria is a much better option. read more

This is the Nanuet Mall Part 2. The owners of that mall had the good sense to tear it down and start fresh since the old Nanuet Mall was a ghost town. Newburgh Mall present day should do everyone a favor and close shop for good. No business = no patrons = no money = useless. read more

being a newburgherian (a true one) i felt i had to respond to some of the other comments. the newburgh mall has improved and has many clothing stores for all age's and styles along with shoe and sneaker departments.there are dental and vision services and now 2 nail salons and 2 hair salons . there are video ,office supplies and a music store as well. a new karate and fitness business that offers lessons . i do agree there should be more places to eat. there is mexican place great margaritas (i have not dined there but i hear good things). cosmo's is still there and always busy.jewlery stores (high end to low). seasonal stores are open through out the year. newburgh has grown so fast in recent years and the mall is finally trying to catch up. i probably will go there today . i need cartridges for my printer and need to get my nails done. read more
