The sound of breaking glass echoed ominously through my basement and beyond. Fragments of the mirror scattered across the floor, creating a dangerous mess of sharp edges and sparkling shards. The impact was so powerful that it felt as though the very foundations of the house were trembling. Then we finally found out ( from other glass company)root cause of the incident was traced back to the insufficient support at the bottom of the mirror. Only three drills had been used to secure it, a far cry from the robust support needed for such a large and heavy piece. The inadequate number of drills failed to provide the necessary stability, causing the mirror to gradually loosen over time. Eventually, the mounting gave way, leading to the catastrophic crash and the resulting damage. We contacted the manager or When we contacted the boss to inform him of the incident, he immediately rejected any responsibility for the improper installation. When we mentioned the possibility of taking legal action to seek compensation, he laughed dismissively, showing no concern for the situation or its consequences. I feel fortunate that I wasn't present when the incident occurred. The potential danger from the crashing mirror and flying glass shards could have resulted in serious injury. Despite the frightening event, I'm grateful to have avoided being in harm's way.

Buyer Beware. In my past 30 years of various home improvements and renovations, I've usually been…read morevery happy with the people and businesses I've dealt with. Marigold Home was a glaring exception. If you buy something in the shop, with a price tag on it, you'll be fine. But if you get into any ordering with them, WATCH OUT! I attempted to buy Hunter Douglas window treatments from them. I'd bought them for our apartment in Brooklyn and was very happy with the entire experience. The experience with Marigold Home was completely different. Most businesses, when you're placing a special order, will write up a quote, detailing what you're purchasing and how much you'll pay for it. Not Marigold. They don't want to give you that because they say people might take that and go elsewhere for a better price. It was my mistake for not stopping right there. I allowed myself to be gullible and believe they were an honest business. After they took my deposit and placed the order, only then, and only after I requested it three more times, was I given a printed quote. Even then, it wasn't as detailed as what I'd gotten from the dealer in Brooklyn (L.W.P. Home Products) before they'd asked for any money from me. Just to assure myself Marigold's price was somewhere in the ball park (because it had seemed so expensive right from the start), I submitted a request to LWP, without telling them I'd already had a quote, because I didn't want LWP to give me a competitive quote, just the usual quote they would give. They did so right away, and it was literally HALF the price Marigold was charging. (I called LWP then and told them what was going on. They said they could arrange a local installer to do the installation. If only I'd called them first, I'd never have had to have this awful experience!!!! But of course it was too late by then, as I'd already been fleeced of my deposit.) Most, if not all, Hunter Douglas dealerships give discounts off the "Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price." Not Marigold. Not only don't they give any discount, they also add exorbitant installation costs ($400 for approximately one hour's work) and "freight" charges (around $200) that I wasn't charged for by the other dealer. In the end, I was so disgusted with Marigold that I didn't take the shades. I paid the deposit, which covered their costs with Hunter Douglas, their "freight," Maria's time in coming to my house to measure my 7 small windows (four of which were all the same size anyway), and left enough over for Maria and her husband to have several expensive dinners out. That was about $1500., but it would have cost me another $1500. to have the shades. It was a painful and expensive lesson in being gullible, but I will never make that mistake again. I will eventually deal with the shades the way I have in the past, by going to Home Depot and ordering shades which I will install myself. Unfortunately. There are other local dealerships for Hunter Douglas - and whatever other products Marigold Home carries - and I strongly suggest you check around before ordering anything from Marigold.

No AI here - I can write. We moved into our new house a…read morecouple months ago. There were pretty awful blinds in my space, nearly all were broken & all were ugly, so I was determined to replace them asap. I carefully read reviews for companies that supplied blinds & shades but noticed that some were, shall we say, shady. Made contact with 2 companies, had 2 salesmen from one place vying aggressively but the one guy who showed up was only offering me more dumb vinyl blinds, despite my expressing interest in roman shades. He actually told me that I didn't want those. Really? Mansplaining my tastes? Offer no options? Did I look stupid? I had also responded to ES Home Textiles Studio's offer for an estimate. When both Erika & Sara showed up to offer options, take the measurements, talk price, exactly on time, they also took the time to notice my color palette. I am an artist & color is so important to me! The light in our new house very much weighed in on my choices. While Erika took the measurements, Sara took pics of the art & colors I surround myself with, she noticed the light, we talked color, textures, weights & then she afterwards sent me a lot of samples that coordinated with my aesthetic. After I looked thru them all, took time to give them a feel, I asked for some more samples with different patterns & overnight I had an even more extensive palette to choose from (they didn't want them returned so I gave them to my granddaughters to make doll clothes). Actually made choices harder - I loved that! - but I found my colors, patterns & textures & we were off. Excellent communication from ES, one very minor delay, but their installers put everything in place when they said they would, exactly as they said they would & I am beyond pleased. The installers were prompt, great communication, followed all instructions, offered to move all the furniture back in place as well. They provided what I really wanted, in a good timeframe, for a reasonable price. I now feel like I have some art on my windows - they gave me the options & service I hoped for! You want professional?
