Newport wasn't just a treatment center to me...it was a turning point, a breath I didn't know I'd…read morebeen holding finally let go. I came in carrying years of weight, layers of trauma, and a heart that had almost forgotten how to trust healing. Inside those walls, I found more than therapy. I found safety, compassion, and the courage to meet myself fully. A therapist who cried with me during session, staff who werent there just on degree but because they had lived experience and I think thats a beautiful way to help people. The staff saw me not as broken, but as someone worth rebuilding from within. They are trained to see trauma over Behavior..The skills I learnes there, Especially how to hold myself through crisis, how to look at pain without running from it, have become part of my daily survival and growth. They gave me tools, but more than that, they gave me hope. Leaving was one of the hardest parts. The instant loss of community and friends is so hard, It's easy to slip back into old patterns, to get lost again in the comfort of what you've always known. But that's okay. When I started to spiral, and started to fall back, I realized it was my time to use the skills Newport taught me. And though it's been hard, it has been easier than it was before. This place isn't meant to heal you all the way...it's not supposed to make you feel "ready" to leave. If you want to run out the door, it probably means the work is still working. Some of the resistance is just that part of you holding onto the familiarity of your old life. Turn around, get back up and let the place give you that help. My advice is to give this place the chance, and to walk in as an open book. If you do, it truly has the ability to change your life in ways you can't imagine. I stayed at the Echo Lake house in Snohomish :)) no regrets. It was the best decision of my life. There's also the Railroad house for all girls, which I heard wonderful things about (aside from the usual girl drama haha). The staff I met were extraordinary. We'd gather at Railroad for 12-step meetings and mental health talks, and it created this sense of connection..and community, which i learned is a huge part of healing, and with community, you don't feel so alone when you realize you're healing together. And yes... they even have GOATS. Somehow, even that became part of the healing. Hehe. You'll see. Newport gave me back pieces of myself I thought were gone forever. I'll always carry gratitude for the place that reminded me what hope feels like. The place that saved me from myself, but also reintroduced me to the new me. You all got this! ~Serahlyn

If you suffer with addiction, do not go to this clinic. Cash only for addiction treatment. He is happy to take your money and then leave you hanging out to dry when you need him. It would be in Dr. Zend's best interest to look at his office practices and staff. There is a good chance he's not getting all the information from his staff or any at all. Corolla seems to run the show, not the doctor. On March 16, 2018, she was hospitalized for exacerbated asthma, Influenza B, and hospital-acquired pneumonia. She was in the hospital for 10 days. She was in severe pain and contacted Dr. Zend's office. She spoke with Corolla. My wife explained to Corolla what was going on and was falsely accused by Corolla of relapsing?? I called their office since my wife was extremely sick in the hospital and did not need this added stress. Corolla told me the same thing but had no facts to back up her accusation, only that my wife had no showed an appointment recently (which she rescheduled and saw Dr. Zend). Corolla was rude, unprofessional, and should not work in any medical setting given her lack of compassion. Medical office staff should not accuse patients of anything unless there is proof or concern in the medical file. My wife needed to talk to Dr. Zend about pain management in the hospital and after care to return to her treatment protocol (she could not breathe, she had the flu, pleurisy in her lungs, and staphylococcus pneumonia from being in the hospital). Needless to say, when she called to schedule an appointment with Dr. Zend on March 26th, after being discharged from the hospital, Corolla told her she had been discharged as a patient. No reason was given. She had never been subject to discipline, failed any tests, and had only missed an appointment because we had a sick child. Several messages were left with Corolla and the receptionist for Dr. Zend to call but no calls were returned by Dr. Zend. Save your money, save your time, and find a better doctor. We will be filing a complaint with the WA Department of Health. His practices should be reviewed. I state this because in my conversation with Corolla on March 20, 2018, she stated to me that Dr. Zend "has to think about his medical license" and cannot worry about situations like this?? Worry about what situation, my wife had the flu and pneumonia and here you are making false accusations. It all comes down to making a buck in your cash based medical practice, instead of listening to your patient and treating a patient who gets the flu during flu season.

He is tough and knowledgeable but very affirming of your efforts and caring. The rest of the staff is very personable as well. It was a great experience overall!

Let me start first by saying I was very pleased with my appt with their MLD therapist - Maggie…read more Maggie was great. So kind and helpful and VERY thoughtful of my specific medical situation. She was also very knowledgeable, which helps because I have Lipedema (NOT Lymphedema) and many don't know much about Lipedema but she does. BUT their problem at the Snohomish location is the front desk person, Tori. She is incredibly RUDE. First of all, my first appt last week, I walked in, smiled, greeted Tori and said who I was there to see. She frowned, had a grouchy tone of voice, handed me a TON of paperwork to fill out, which I did, and when I was done, told me that Maggie would come get me. Now first of all, besides Tori - please people ... SEND THIS STUFF TO PATIENTS IN EMAIL! For heaven's sake. I have essential tremors so writing is difficult. My husband was with me and had to help me fill all of this out, which included medical history, list of meds, etc. It took me about 20 minutes to fill all this out, which put me at 5 minutes PAST my appt time. :-( Maggie came to get me and things were great them. But then Tori handed me a list of my next 5 appointments when we were on our way out. OHHHH KAYYYY. NO ONE - AT ANY TIME - consulted with me to find out what would be good days and times to come in AND we had to get out of there because my husband had a work meeting to get to. When we got home, we set the list of appts down and forgot about them until Sunday. My bad. BUT ... they were ALL for Tuesdays in the early morning. We normally don't do Tuesday appts when my husband has to go with me because he has to go into the office on that day. He took this day at home for THIS appt. AND I have some medical things that make mornings my WORST time of day. I try to make all my appts after about 11:00 am, later if possible. I am in so much pain in the morning that getting going is insane. So on Sunday we faxed them to cancel all those appts, stating we will call to reschedule. So this morning (Monday) I called. Tori was SO RUDE! When I asked if she got the fax, she didn't even answer me. When I told her I need to delete the these appts and reschedule them, she RUDELY AND STERNLY said "ALL 5 OF THEM!!!" I said "Yes, all 5 of them. Also, Maggie only needs to see me for one or two more appts and then I'm done anyway." (This is because she teaches us how to do MLD at home on our own. This is common with this therapy. So then Tori asked me what time tomorrow I could reschedule for, I was looking at my calendar and finally told her 1:00 pm. THEN she tells me Maggie doesn't have ANYTHING until April 10th. REALLY??? NOW YOU TELL ME!!! How about "Maggie doesn't have anything until April 10th, so what would be your best days and times after that?" Tori has no business working the front desk of ANY business. She gives them a bad name. I have read other bad reviews from people who won't go back to this location BECAUSE OF HER. I won't either. I cancelled all my appts and I will go to another clinic, even though I have to drive twice as far to get there. I know I will be treated well there because I've been there before. I chose Summit because it was closer. But Tori was the straw that breaks the camels back. Summit should find someone else to work their front desk. She is the FACE of Summit in Snohomish and she makes them look VERY BAD.

I sought out Tina Huang because I have dental PTSD and was facing another dental procedure. In my…read morefirst appointment, I was debating out loud about whether to pay for individual appointments, or to buy the package, because the difference in cost per appointment was a lot. Seeing me debating, she said if I didn't think it was helping we could just convert from package back to individual appointments. It sounded easy. What ensued was this. I had a good experience with my procedure, and told her so, and told her I'm not sure if the work she did helped but I was willing to entertain that it might have. I planned to continue working with her in the future in case it was part of what was helpful. (There were a lot of factors that could have played into it, including that my new dentist is a truly wonderful person and I felt incredibly safe, and also that for the first time I used Ibuprofen and tylenol the night before and again an hour before my procedure. From subsequent experiences, I have more and more reason to believe this has made a huge impact on my experience of pain during dental procedures.). I asked if we could convert the package back to individual appointments. I also mentioned I was planning on pursuing hyperthermia therapy for Lyme. Here is one excerpt from our email exchange: Tina wrote "I'm not willing to refund you based on email exchanges alone. I know that you had tremendous progress with me, and I have the ability to help you continue to heal. It's very common in my line of work for clients to want to quit once they are on the verge of true transformation. I know this is true for you...it would be unethical for me to let you give up this easily when I know that I can make a huge difference in your health." Here's another excerpt: Tina wrote "I was hoping I could have saved you a ton of money. But you didn't give me the chance to show you what was possible. I"m baffled as to why you didn't give me a chance and decided to fly all the way to Germany for an expensive procedure when you had a far more affordable option. I do have a history of being able to help people when nothing else will." I feel quite comfortable with "out there" therapies on my complex health journey. But any possibility that I would continue working with her in the future was more than tanked by this email exchange. She did not convert my package back to individual appointments; it was a loss to the tune of about $1200. Part of the problem was that her criteria for giving me my money back was if I didn't think it was helping. And the truth is, I don't know if it helped or not, and that's what I told her. I couldn't feel anything when she worked with me, I didn't have a felt sense of whether it was working or not. There was no plan on her part for this scenario, and I think she should have (still should) refund my money. If others get a lot out of seeing her, I'm glad for that. I hope for her healing and prosperity as much as my own. I'm writing this so that others may know that after my two appointments, the "container" changed dramatically. If you decide to work with her, I'd recommend paying as you go rather than buying the package.
