This comes in part from the homemade summer sausage hanging on a rack by the door. It is wrapped in parchment during the smoking process. There is no rind to peel. This is hands down the best summer sausage I ever had. I also picked up a pound of bratwurst. I'm anxious to get them on a grill. I expect them to be as good as the summer sausage was. We are new to Manitowoc and decided to check put all the stores. We were impressed with the selection at Meijer. Espically the selection of organic and gluten-free foods. They have groceries, clothing, home goods, health & beauty, a pharmacy and electronics. The store is clean and bright with wide aisles for easy maneuvering. The customer service was great. Meijer will for sure be one of our go-to spots.

We finally stopped in. You can smell the smoker going from the parking lot. There is absolutely nothing fancy about the store. 2 chest freezers and a meat counter. The attendant obviously works in the back making sausages and comes out to the store when a customer comes in. There are several varieties of bratwurst, ring bologna, beef sticks and other sausages.. There are pork chops, bacon and ham. I bought more wieners, summer sausage which is very good, and some bacon I will try tomorrow morning. The prices are higher than you might find on name brands or at big chain stores, but the quality is superior. I will continue to get sausages at Salmon's when we pass through Luxemburg going to Green Bay.

Don't take your deer here…read more Brought in a hefty adult doe. Typically at other processors I'd get roughly 45 lbs back, steaks, ground and back straps all packaged. They gave me about 30lbs back for nearly $150!!! Told me that was everything! Ground packaged in 1.5 lb increments which makes no sense. Steaks packaged nicely but no indication of separate back straps so who the hell knows. Either this place is holding onto your extra meat or they too sloppy to give you what they should. Family member had the same experience with them. will never use this place again and do not recommend!
