Went well today. First time stop. We bought more than what we came for, which is a great sign. So many choices! We decided to get a brat from the brat fry and the only thing is, it was extremely salty. Both my mom and myself got one and we said the some thing. I didn't even finish mine. We are very familiar with the brats from this store as my in-laws always bring some back for us. Definitely something to look into and change. read more

Updated and expanded store is now open! It has almost doubled the shopping and fresh meat area. Still have all the great cuts of fresh and frozen meat, deli area, local cheeses and breads. But now the have an explained "grocery type area" that has almost everything you need for a meal or a backyard barbecue. Even Store Merch like hats and t-shirts. The have also added an area that sells dry aged steaks. Pretty nice! This is a meat lovers paradise but even though Vegetarians might not love the meat market part, they might enjoy the wine and spirts department. We used to buy a lot of meat at Miesfelds, not anymore. Brats are not what they used to be and I mentioned it one time to a clerk and got the answer that nothing changed. Yes it did. Ever since the Miesfelds left, this place is not as good. We quit buying anything here. There are many meat markets in the area, size does not make you better. Used to love the little corner store. read more

First time here and was very impressed with the large selection of meat that they offer at Miesfelds. The meat counter is the longest one I have ever seen anywhere! This place has all things meat to include every type sausage imaginable with large/varied selections of beef, pork, chicken and some game meats too. Although we did not buy any meat on this trip the meats look very fresh with choice cuts or better on the beef side. Meats aside, this market also has a great selection of Wisconsin cheeses, smoked fish, prepared ready to cook entrees/sides, large selection of salads, honeys, jams, Jellies, Premium cuts of house made Jerkys (of which I bought several and are super good) and large "lucky Dog" smoked beef bones (looks almost good enough for human consumption where your dog will love you forever). Relative to Covid, everyone is wearing masks with good customer separation being practiced and with wide aisles providing an added sense of security as you pass by other shoppers. Hand sanitizers are available at checkout so you can squirt yourself before leaving giving you a good sense of security once your shopping experience is completed. Wisco-wonderful! Seriously, this place is about as peak Wisconsin as it gets. Located right off the highway, Miesfeld's has it all: 1. The most gorgeous meat counter. It must be 40' long and packed with housemade hams, perfectly cut steaks, any/all types of pork products and so much more. 2. Of course, (and this is why you're here) SAUSAGE - specifically Sheboygan brats & brat patties (my favorite). You can get their famous "grand champion" variety or pick from dozens of varieties not limited to gyro, Cajun, salt free (for the health conscious) and pineapple chicken. A huge amount of summer sausages, beef sticks (tons of flavors) and landjaegers too. 3. A full deli area with housemade dips, salads and pre-prepared foods to go. 4. A small market with plenty of sauces, rubs and of course Sheboygan Hard Rolls! 5. An amazing amount of things containing horseradish - sausages, cheese, cheese dips, even homemade Braunschweiger with horseradish! Nothing is more Wisconsin. 6. Although we live in Milwaukee about 75 miles away, I would gladly crawl on my hands and knees for a few pounds of their brat patties. I have been on a one man mission to raise awareness of the alternative form of brat consumption. If you've never had a brat patty, please drive up to Sheboygan and get yourself some of these. Made from the same recipe as their amazing award-winning sausages, you don't know what your missing until you slap one of these babies on a Sheboygan hard roll with a few melty slices of American cheese. Pro tip: If you don't live in the area, buy a few dozen hard rolls here and freeze them. They thaw amazingly quick and have that same soft (not hard) bready-goodness months later. Better yet, lightly butter them and toss them on the grill for about a minute. Miesfeldt's is so much more than just brats. They have every sausage and smoked meat product known to man. They have a full range of beef, pork, chicken, and even a selection of game meats. They have a great selection of WI cheeses, honeys, jams and Jellies. They have the worlds greatest brats and the meatiest beef short ribs I have ever found. If you love brats you must also bring home some hard rolls (Semmels). I know these are fighting words, but Miesfeld's makes the best brat, hands down. If the store had nothing else, the brats alone would be worth the rating, and in my case the long drive to get there. However, as others noted this place is basically a love letter to Wisconsin in the form of a market. Great meats, both fresh and frozen, sausage (the summer sausage is next level), and many other local products. Back the brats, the flavor is pronounced with al the quintessential brat flavors, but everything is in balance. If there is any downside to this place it is that it is very popular, and the parking lot can be a little nuts, but it is a small price to pay. read more

Oh Miesfeld's, I miss you in my life! So happy to stop here on a weekend visit back in Sheboygan to fill my freezer with brats and Irish potato sausage!! We found a place in Madison that sells the grand champion brats, but I sure wish they'd get more of their goods to sell as well! Such a fun place to go to help with your meal planning needs on any given day; there are tremendous options to pick from including stuffed mushrooms, different deli picks like beer cheese dip or ham spread, tons of brats and sausages to choose from, Chuck's pizzas, poppyseed tortes, wine, cheese....all good things. I would love to see them branch out and start selling a more local grass fed option, and maybe they have - I didn't look that close as my feet went right to the brat case, but five years back they hadn't yet gone that route. Beautiful steaks at prices that seem very inexpensive compared to Whole Foods. Amazing meat market. This place is huge and their selection of sausages, fresh beef, fresh pork, and ready-to-cook meats (stuffed, marinated, etc.) is terrific. Their selection of fresh poultry is limited to whole chicken fryers, boneless, skinless breasts, and marinated or stuffed breasts. Other poultry is available, but frozen. They have the state-winning bratwurst and so many varieties of sausages that it's almost overwhelming. It would make a fun project to work one's way through all the selections. They also have award-winning ham, house-made preserves and dressings, house-made pot pies (bake from frozen), wines, cheeses, and a limited supply of fresh salads and breads. What's outstanding, though, is how very helpful everyone in the store is. The company culture is such that all people who work in the shop are welcoming and happy to recommend products. They took the time to give me a little tour (it was slow on a weekday) and explain the best way to cook my ready-to-cook meats I'd selected. Other people told me what restaurants in town serve Miesfeld meats. Another recommended the best times to shop at the market (Saturdays can be busy, but I'm told lines move fast) and how to reserve my Thanksgiving turkey. This is a fantastic meat market. Their items range from the traditional to the unusual. We could easily have gone nuts shopping in this place. As it was we filled a Styrofoam cooler with goodies. They also make good salads. The deviled egg potato salad was great. We also got some of their homemade pickled herring and it was really delicious! Full service butcher. You can even have your venison processed here. Everything is done fresh in the back. They will even ship items when ordered online or even in the store. We have used this service to send care packages of brats to family in less "civilized" areas of the country, where they have no idea the difference between a brat and a sausage. They have excellent landjaeger and bloody mary sausage sticks. The only thing I personally have found I dislike is the experimental brat flavors. Every other summer we drove from Amarillo, TX to Sheboygan, WI to visit my grandmother. One of my favorite memories was our visit to Miesfeld's Market. It looks much larger than when I was 6. I grew up on Summer Sausage plain and Garlic. Gibbsville Colby cheese and I think they were called Fat Freddies (little sticks of the summer sausage). Having been born in Sheboygan, Miesfeld's Triangle Market was a weekly stop growing up. I now live in Florida and spend a couple hundred dollars on assorted products whenever I get back to Sheboygan. Mail orders are made when it's more than 6 months that I get to Sheboygan. EVERYTHING is outstanding. The garlic summer sausage is the best ever and the brats are multi award winning. I will be going to South Florida in the next few weeks for a fishing tournament and will be the hero with my assorted box from Meisfeld's. My family that lives around the country love me at Christmas when they get their gift boxes. Truly the best, freshest meat I've ever eaten.
