I attended a tea with the Drexel Women in Business organization. The space is elegant! It is or…read morewas a private Women's club. The entrance is street level with a coat room, bathrooms, and a sitting room. The staircase going upstairs is beautiful. There is also an elevator. The event spaces are similar to a parlor. The tea sandwiches and small desserts were delicious. Tea, coffee, soda and wine were also available. The third floor parlor had plenty of room for 6-7 tables. It was easy to hear the speaker. The venue is impeccably clean.

A single, small elevator--furnished with a small love-seat bench, which seemed slightly unnecessary and space-stealing for the limited number of floors housed in The Acorn Club--brought us to the second floor and its dining room. The Acorn Club's dining room is absolutely beautiful: especially the blue, damask wallpaper and the glittering chandeliers and wall sconces. The table seats and cloth napkins (both shades of dusky rose) were luxurious to the touch and the table settings were impeccable. Food-wise, the appetizer and dessert stole the show. The butternut squash soup was piping hot, creamy, and delicious--very similar to the version my mother makes for holidays. And the chocolate-and-vanilla mousse garnished with milk and white chocolate shavings was perfect (as was the almond lace cookie I may have also sampled). Meanwhile, the main course of (dry) chicken and (overdressed) salad was only so-so. Service-wise, the servers was a little surlier than you might expect in that setting, but for one of my fellow diners a polite and slightly apologetic response for putting her water glass too far to the center of the table seemed to break the ice enough to allow the server to seem less resentful. We left wondering how one becomes a member of this Club. Unfortunately the website still leaves us wondering.

If I could post with 0 stars I would . I was a former…read moreemployee at this deceiving establishment. Like a review left 4 months ago by a former Employee as they publicly denied him working at the club . I will confirm Tyron did in fact work for the house keeping dept . With constant management turnover at times no management for that dept . My review is a warning to any person who may want to work here or have their child work here. Or to the contemplating member to be at this establishment. As far as employees go, over worked under paid . (Personally I was ) denied benefits and pto even when according to the hand book they provide you with . I was entitled to . They even intentionally don't subtract the proper federal and state withholding. Putting you under financial distress . Just to add to the saga. Using mind games and manipulation . Along with using your personal disability's against you as a form of discrimination. Ownership ironically taking no ownership for their loses only to point fingers when. They have set you up for failure. In my personal experience . Go be a member . Sure it's a beautiful looking. But it will lose its allure and glimmer once you see how They operate. Beyond disappointed. Obviously my judgement was blured by all the words that lacked actual action. As the former director of spa and wellness / solo aesthetician. 3 hats one person . I am sorry to the members I worked with close and personally . For not being there to help you on your skin Journey. I didn't want to go I was let go in a very intimidating setting . Very disappointed in how the tables turned Please references my Google review where the director of operations Matthew who's now a carbon copy of ownership. Replies . With I left !? Clearly he is sleep deprived . And doesn't really recall how it all happed . Spare ur self don't work for them. Don't be a memo or go be a member and squander your money in a cold environment.
