I love this place and have been a client for many years. Now that they've opened the Fairfield spa, that's where I'll be heading. I would like to comment on this year's Anniversary party at Tashua in Trumbull though. In comparison to the one at the Waterview in Monroe last year, it paled in comparison. Apps were ordinary, very ho-hum and there was not enough seating. If you didn't get there early, you had to stand for three hours. The venue should at least provide enough high tops so that people could place a drink and food on something. An announcement was made in the beginning of the event saying that gift bags were going to be given away every half hour. I remember two, maybe I missed one, but I don't think they were given away every half hour. Hopefully, the venue and the quality of food at the next party is comparable to last year's which was amazing! read more

I went to Newtown MediSpa and had a horrible Botox experience. Let me start with saying this was not my first time getting Botox. In the past I had the same # of units given no problem. This past visit I felt pressured to buy more and insisted I stay with what I had received in the past as I didn't want to overdo it. Much to my surprise after the recommended ten days I looked horrible! I went back to discuss and was charged for 8 more units to correct. After another ten days toubwould think I would be happy with the look but the wrinkles are still clearly visible in the area I was MOST concerned with. I would definitely steer clear if they are trying to convince you you need more that you have always got. Even after the 8 more, I'm not happy! How many times should one go back to get the right look? Very frustrated. read more

I went here to get my brows microbladed. I have to say you get what you pay for! I thought I'd save $ and use a Groupon but trust me don't do it! She's very fast, doesn't take her time & doesn't see what you see. I always felt like I was bothering her. And the touch ups were even worse! Not even, took too much off one side & added to another. Also, I learned over this weekend NO ONE should leave w all that pigment on!! Ever!! And, don't use Aquaphor, it fades your color!!! read more

I purchased a groupon to try this place out. I made the appointment and then next day realized I was out of town and called to change. Spoke to answering service who told me I'd get a call back. Next day, I called again and was told the same thing. That was a week ago, still no call back. Cancelled the groupon. Too bad, the could have had a regular customer. I Love love love this place. I was hesitant to switch from the plastic surgeon that has done my fillers and Botox but he was ridiculously expensive so I had to. I've also gone to numerous reputable places over the ten years I've been getting injectable treatments. In deciding to switch I had read all the reviews of newtown Medi Spa and decided to give it a try. I read stellar reviews of Tanya with both fillers and Botox so I booked it with her. I went to the new Fairfield location which is lovely. The staff is amazing: So friendly and so very accommodating. But what I really love is Tanya! OMG. I wish I'd come sooner. She couldn't believe how much Botox I'd been injected with ( at numerous doctor's offices) she cut the number of ccs by more than 1/3! And my results are awesome!! I am thrilled. And their prices are fantastic. They are very aware of pricing and are helpful with savings programs, coupons and such. This is very important to me ( because it allows me to get more treatments:)Tanya also used less filler than I thought and gave me much better results! I am not kidding. Her placement is ridiculously good. My lips are very natural ( which I wanted) She also suggested Voluma in my cheeks and explained why. I decided to trust her and i am SO GLAD I did. . I have been a client for a few years and have had various procedures done. A couple of months ago the owner told me about a new machine they had that would remove the wrinkles on my chest area. I was excited and asked her if it would work as I was getting married a month later. Deb looked at the area and said "absolutely you're going to love it". Not once did she state it may take two tries or led me to believe this would not work. So I went for it. When the nurse started the procedure it was extremely painful. She had to lower the setting. Again she didn't say due to this it may not work. The procedure did nothing for me. I called Deb 2xs and she didn't call me back but had the nurse call me to state no refund will be given and that they'd offer me another treatment. I explained I had no desire to go thru that again and the wedding came and went, that was the driving force behind spending the money I did. I am extremely upset by this lack of customer service. If this was initially explained to me with ALL the details then I'd own it, it was not. I should be able to trust the owner. They have lost a good client read more

This place wants your money and does not care about your satisfaction or results. The groupon I bought went to waste as the girl who did my Botox did not know how to inject it properly. I went back, was charged extra and never had the desired results as I've had in the past when injected at my dermatologist office. They made all kinds of excuses and refused to rectify their mistake. On top of all that, the owner never called me back when I called to tell her about my experience. Too bad as I had high hopes and they do have a clean and presentable office. read more

My favorite place to go to feel better! I have discovered Newtown Medispa through a groupon couple years back. after trying many different places, no one could provide better service. I did Botox there and every time it's a painless injecting, the results stay with me for a very long time. I also did microblading, again used groupon. Love my eyebrows! Lessie did great job! I get so may compliments about my eyebrows! I did touch ups with her couple times after that - amazing every time!. I have been going to Newtown MediSpa for over five years. Although the staff is amazing, and the practice is great at what hey do, be prepared to get severely over charged. The last handful of times I have gone, every time it comes time to pay, the price seems to magically increase. I ask one person the price of something, only to be charged a totally different price at checkout. Good luck ever trying to get an itemized list at payment- never happens. ( I think partially cause they are charging whatever they feel like charging in the moment- very bait and switch!) They also don't let you know ahead of time when prices change. For example, I am literally sitting in the chair today and find out the price has increased yet again with zero warning. It just doesn't sit right with me anymore. God forbid you ever question what they are charging you; get ready for a major attitude and the run around when you ask for clarity. I feel like I am being taken advantage of, which as a customer isn't a good feeling. I won't be coming back anymore. I kept giving this place the benefit of the doubt, today was the last straw- I usually pay $300 for Botox, and today was charged $465 for the same amount I usually get!!! I won't be referring my social circle either- it's a real shame. read more

I purchased a groupon and went in for an IPL , I was told it's not recommended for my skin type and was advised to do a peel . I was told with 72 hours I would see peeling . I experienced no results, I kept calling serval times before I can reach someone and when I did reach someone I explained what happened and was told to come back for retreat. I got there and was told I have to pay for another peel, I asked to speak to the owner after explaining about my horrible experience she rudely stated that she cannot do anything and if I need another peel I'll have to pay again . Beware people don't waste your money. I lost mine and will be calling the better business to report this awful place. I also called groupon and reported the issue. read more

Went to Newtown medi spa 2 weeks ago for the first time. I was very nervous because it was my first time getting any work done on my face. I met with Tonya. She was very nice, made me feel very comfortable and explained everything. I went for Botox but after everything was explained to me I went with a filler instead . The result was great. BUYER BEWARE! Six visits, thousands of dollars and I have (finally!) learned my lesson.. A beautifully decorated salon, and very friendly staff, but (1) inexperienced technicians; (2) consistent Bait & Switch tactics; and (3) inferior products. For example, tech did a "test patch" for melasma vs sun spots before selling me an IPL package, but she did the test ON THE FRONT OF MY NECK! Now, I have larger and much darker brown spots than before. Other than one quick photo before each treatment, they never took notes during my visits, so they forgot what my initial goals and wishes were and what I had done and why. 2. Commissioned technicians up-sold me in private without mentioning the additional cost, and left it up to the receptionist to break the news (in front of the waiting room clients) that I actually had more done than I had asked for. This happened every time after the first visit. Lots of confusing coupons and "deals" to make me think it was less expensive but it always cost more. 3. None of the procedures and products lasted as long as they said they would. NOT going back. read more

My review pertains more to my experience with the ipl rather than with the staff. The staff at newtown were all very kind and provided a very nice environment for treatment. However, I went in looking for a medical grade ipl treatment and did not see any results whatsoever. The treatment did not hurt as I've read in other reviews, there was no redness, no peeling, no "coffee ground" purging or any other signs of efficiency. Worst of all, my skin is still exactly the same- covered in acne scarring and hyperpigmentation. I wasn't expecting to see a dramatic change with the first treatment either, but I literally saw nothing happen. It was as good as washing my face in the morning I guess. They emphasized using "conservative" settings as to not burn my face, despite me telling them my skin is pretty resistant. So I don't think the settings used were appropriate for my skin type. I am of Latino and Italian descent with skin that tans easily and is prone to hyperpigmentation. I recently experienced adult acne for the first time and have tons of dark spots as a result. This type of treatment probably works for fair or light skinned skin that reacts quickly. Definitely not worth even the groupon price. read more
