Solar panels installed, wires/conduit hidden. Water tight NO LEAKS (post HURRICANE Hilary hahaha)
    Jason R.

I've wanted solar for several years. After having several different solar contractors come to our house, going over pamphlets, and promising 'freedom from the grid' we ultimately picked one that we felt best suited our needs. Long story short, that company didn't pan out as they mapped out our roof and were concerned with a shed we had in our backyard. Knowing all of this, I felt like the best option for us was to find a contractor in our area who was familiar with our cities planning department and had knowledge of, not just solar, but construction. I found Eric and his company on yelp, and like all of his introductory clients, he scheduled a consultation with me. I didn't know at the time that we had reached out to Eric that NEM 2.0 was all the rage and people were rushing through solar contractors to get contracted and locked in to NEM 2.0... I didn't even know what NEM meant! But Eric took the time to walk me through ALL of my questions when we initially met - everything from construction fidelity on our property to solar efficiency, to electric bill expectations and learning SCE verbiage... Eric took the time to talk to me. As we met, his phone was ringing off the hook. We met in the afternoon between 4-5 and his phone was going off! I appreciated how much information Eric knew, and there wasn't any pressure to book with his company after the initial consultation. We ultimately booked with Eric as he was quick to respond and very helpful with answering all of our questions. TECHNOLOGY RELATED - All of the info about a solar proposal, panels to be used, and a breakdown of expense for us as homeowners was detailed in a very easy-to-use online portal. I appreciate when companies speak the language of the times and offer convenient, 24-hour access to plans we've discussed over the phone or in person. CONSTRUCTION PROCESS - Once our date was set (we were backed out 2-3 months from our initial date because of the whole NEM 2.0 thing). Eric and his team did as other teams in the past did with us, they mapped out our roof, but one thing that Erics team did differently was process our goals and future needs for solar as well as discuss some of the unique logistic issues for our property (e.g. we have dogs roaming around the backyard, we have various construction projects going on in our backyard, etc.). On the day of construction, Erics team showed up on time and they DID WORK. They were here from about 8am-2pm, and I was blown away at home much they got done. They had a team outside who were setting up the brackets for the solar, and a guy inside the attic running wires/conduit for several hours, and others prepping and handing tools and product to the team on the roof. They finished setting up the solar panels in 2 work days! That was ridiculously faster than I had expected! FOLLOW UP - The job wasn't done when solar was installed. Eric regularly kept me posted with what was going on including when the city inspector would come, and when his workers would come to meet the inspector. After everything was cleared, I reached out to Eric several times for follow up, and even as some companies in my past experience would leave me on 'read' after the job was done and payment was complete... Eric didn't treat us that way. He continued to process my questions (I have a lot!! Probably more than most people) and didn't give me any kind of inclination that I was bothersome. After having some bogus contractors in the past for various projects in our home... I really appreciate Eric's patience in dealing with us and providing us such an excellent service and product! If any of my friends talk about solar, I'm quick to herald what an amazing experience I had with NexGen construction! This was the least stressful, most informative, and cordial team we've worked with on this homeowning journey. If you have any specific questions for me about my experience as it may pertain to you... I'd be happy to field them!

Solar panels, no grid lines. Sunset time makes roof appear reddish

Contemplating the installation of new solar panels can feel somewhat daunting. Putting in a new roof can also feel the same. We were looking to install BOTH new solar panels along with a much needed new roof, back to back. We hoped to find a roofing and a solar company who could work together and coordinate on the placement of the solar panels to minimize cutting into the new roof. We knew Eric H. had previously and successfully worked with a separate roofing company (ec-roofing) on other projects. When Eric came over, he was very informative, thorough and patient in his presentation. He really took the time to explain the vast details regarding solar and we appreciated his straightforward calmness. We also drove by other homes with solar panels that Nexgen Construction had installed and liked what we saw. During the entire process, we felt very comfortable. Eric and his crew were wonderful.  He promptly answered any questions we had and was extremely responsive. His crew was always courteous and professional, too.  Even after the install was complete and we were all set up with the electric company, Eric came over and showed us how to access our information to track our production and usage. Shortly after, we received a reach out from Nexgen to ask how everything was going. Such incredible follow up. Several of our neighbors have already approached us remarking on how good both the new roof and solar panels look. They've asked us for their contact information which we happily provided.   Our solar panels are Solaria. Sleek looking. No grid lines. Both Nexgen Construction and the other roofing company worked so well together that we posted a recommendation for that company as well, in a separate review.

My journey to get Solar has been long. I got quotes from 6 of the top rated companies on Yelp and met with them all in person. From the first point of contact with Eric from NexGen I knew that they would be doing my solar so long as the price was not ridiculous. Long story short it was not and I went with them. Eric spent a lot of time via phone calls, text, and emails answering my questions and going over several options for system size and type of equipment. Eric and his team are extremely knowledgeable about all things solar and are a pleasure to work with. I went with an 8.39 kW system with 23 REC365AA black panels, Enphase IQ7PLUS Inverter. The installation was smooth and fast and from time the project started till the time i got my permit to operate was 5 days!!! I have now had the system for about 2 months and could not be happier with the results. The estimated solar output was spot on if not a little over. If you are looking for a honest, reliable, great solar team look not further!!!

I wanted to share my recent wonderful experience with my recent service visit with Infinity Solar…read more I purchased my system in 2024 (detailed review also done); during this time, my solar generation has been absolutely wonderful, and sized perfectly by Kay. My electric bill is essentially free over all of 2025 and this year. Some months have a $10 dollar bill, other months negative depending on how sunny each day is. I have had zero issues whatsoever and system works like clockwork. The installation over my tile roof, done through Terrazas roofing, partnered with Solar has also been top notch with zero issues with multiple major storms last year. I would say i was 110% satisfied with my decision to go solar and with Infinity solar. Fast forward to 2026. A series of recent power outages resulted in no power in my home. My initial thinking was that my system should have generated power with a fully charged battery during this outage. After calling Infinity, it was relayed that my system per contract was only set up for load shifting by design, lowering cost which I had decided on. After discussing 2 options to allow for backup power generation, i decided to proceed with the upgrade. Throughout the process, the entire team supported me exceptionally, starting with Sara who stepped in to help speak to me when the service department was not available at the time. As i did'nt understand my contract fully,, i reached out to Kay in sales, whom i did not speak to in 2 years, who really went above and beyond to explain to me in full detail how my system was set up, and options i had to upgrade. Kay treated me like family. I was so appreciative of her kind approach. She helped coordinate a technical call with Joel to fully answer all my technical questions. Once i decided i was comfortable with to proceed with the upgrade, the service team took over, with Vanessa and Brianna helping me schedule my service. Vanessa and Brianna work tremendously well together; super friendly, pleasant, professional and helpful. I requested looking into a couple options which Vanessa followed up on and accommodated without hesitation. A straight forward and exact quote was provided on Thursday. Their service and help was fantastic and greatly appreciated. Upon approving my quote on Thursday, my service was completed on the following Tuesday, much faster than I expected. Upgrade was performed by Ivan, electrician specialist. Ivan also initially setup my system in 2024. His expertise is perhaps, in my view, the finest in the industry. I felt very fortunate and appreciative knowing i hd my system in the best hands. He spent about 3 hours working on my system, explaining all the steps. Work performed was tremendous. Ivan patiently answering all my questions on some of the system parameters forgotten over the past 2 years. System was up and running and verified to work fully with a simulated power outage performed through the fuse box, and through the app. I was thrilled to now have backup power during outages. Billing and final payment was as quoted and super easy. In closing, the real mark of any business is how you are treated after the job is complete. My belief is that Infinity solar lives up to their reputation of being an exceptional 5 star company providing high expertise solar services through all phases of a project; sales, installation, commission, operational life, and post installation services. In a business of fraught with fly by night companies, Infinity Solar is a true gem. Solar done right with integrity, highest expertise, and exceptional, prompt service when called on. Thanks again to the entire Infinity team. 5 Star once again! Dave C

Having that history with our home made a huge difference, and their professionalism and responsiveness took a lot of stress out of what was otherwise a complicated project -- all without having to break the bank. They are extremely fair with their pricing. It's one thing to do a good installation, but it's another to still be supporting your customers more than a decade later. That kind of long-term service is hard to find these days, and I'm incredibly grateful for everything Alan and Solar Wholesale Group have done for us. Highly recommend.

Overall the team all seem to be doing their job and the execution is quick but the lack of customer communication is not up to par for a 50k project. It felt like I was the project manager all the time, following up on schedule, and then calling to verify. I had a feeling that the teams are split and everyone only does their job based on a scope and not as a team. Sometimes, I just want the truth on timing.... Bc Everytime I get a timing commitment, it's delayed and or no show and then also no updates. The project is still on-going with skirting, commissioning wasn't even done , painting of pipes/conduits... so will update accordingly. 8/6/26 : the team swiftly came the next day and finished painting and commissioning so I will add a star. 8/12/26: Just had a constructive discussion with Dayne and Savannah -- overall very positive. While my earlier frustrations were real, the conversation helped me better understand the complexities of the contractor side of the business. I also came away feeling that OC Solar genuinely puts care and attention into each project. The project isn't fully complete yet (inspections, skirting, and a few other items remain), but the overall execution moved at lightning speed and exceeded my own expectations. At the end of the day, it's the final result that counts so I will increase it to 5 stars.

He walked me through every step of the licensing and installation process and was incredibly transparent about the costs and details. My wife and I had met with so many vendors by then that we could immediately tell Steve knew exactly what he was doing. Most importantly, he was confident about working with our specific roofing type, so we signed the contract. Throughout the process, I was surprised by how responsive he was. Any questions I sent via text or call were answered promptly with clear action plans that addressed my concerns. Bottom line: the installation was completed exactly as planned, and they did a fantastic job on the metal roof with no issues at all. I know solar projects are a long-term commitment that depends on warranty and ongoing service. However, upon completeing the job, the project manager Tim Broughton called me, helped me log on to the Enphase app so that I could monitor the panels. After I confirmed that I was logged in, I was told that I was up and running And they were done. I was happy thinking I was now running on the sun. Wrong. So very wrong. I received my electric bill and astonished to see the electric portion was over $800.00. I called the power company and was told that the $130.00 application fee had not been paid. I notified Mr. Broughton and he immediatley saw that the bill for the application fee was paid and apologized for the error. Now the fun begins. I called the power company and asked when they would be out to install the proper meter for solar panels. I was informed that no application for a meter to be installed was on file and that I had to submit an application for interconnection. Hmm? No one mentioned anything to me about completing and application or that I had to contact the power company. I completed the PTO (Permission to Operate) form and based on the questions being asked and the information I needed to provide leads me to believe the Solar company was responsible for completing this form and sending the required fee. Ok. Lets not look to for someone to blame, lets just get the proper meter installed. I completed the PTO and submitted it. The power company came out a couple of weeks later and installed the a new meter. Onlyit was not a meter for solar panels. They installed the same new meter but it was the same meter as the meter I already had. I asked them why they didn't put on a solar meter and I was told that I needed to submit a PTO for a SOLAR METER, which is different. And by the way, they have a special person that installs solar meters and a special person to install regular meters. This seemed rather stupid to me. I ask the power comapany rep for the contact info for the solar department and he told he didn't know. I won't name the power company. LADwp. The one good thing the DWP rep did upon arriving to his office was to send an email to contact the proper department at the power company. I assumed he would have just gone about his business and let me flounder. I started on the second application which asked for job site photos. This was to me another indication that the solar installer was suppose to complete this form because Joe Citizen would not know what photos they were required. I did observe that periodically, the workers would take photos, but none were ever sent to me. Now I'm in the middle of August 2026 with fingers, legs, arms, eyes and anything else, maybe the dogs and cats, crossed hoping that this time I will get a meter. The bottom line is I would still recommend AWS SOLAR to anyone, but I'd have to caution them to make sure they get you connected and ALL fees are paid. Because I was dealing with the City of LA and being constantly sent to voice mail and waiting for call backs, this experience was horrendous.
