My solar system was installed in 2009 and is a legacy 5kwh 27 panel (210W/panel) 'string' system. My inverter finally died after 17 years and I called 5+ installers/providers to simply replace the inverter. My solar panels were still generating high capacity. Every single contractor wanted to 'rip and replace' my entire system which would be $16K+. And, they wanted a minimum of $300 simply to visit and tell me what was needed to 'fix' the system ( new inverter). And, their fee wouldn't even be applied to any future work they did.... it was simply an inconvenience fee for them. Since my panels were still producing at a high level, I wanted to leverage what I already have. Kobi, the principle at SunSolar US, was the only contractor who did the old fashion visit without the 'inconvenience' fee. He agreed that the existing panels were solid and offered an alternative that saved me 50%. We leveraged the existing panels and installed 'solar optimizers' on each exiting panel and replaced the inverter. I've seen a 10% increase in production in March and I expect the summer months will provide a greater increase. And, we didn't need to rip anything out and poke new holes into my roof. New solar monitoring capability is amazing and provides generation details down to the individual panel level. The upgrade is battery storage ready as a snap-on in the future. I can't thank Kobi and Ron enough for all their work in getting my solar panels installed. Kobi walked me through the process back in May, and was patient through getting my HELOC approved and multiple barriers from HOA. They were both extremely communicative and answered every email or text within hours. I got three different bids, and ultimately selected SunSolar US for their knowledge on working with LADWP and an extensive yelp review search. Kobi ensured I was getting the right number of panels to cover my historical power usage. Never tried to upsell me into more panels if they weren't necessary. Kobi also has an engineering background, so rest assured he knows his stuff. I'm particularly grateful for his education around compliance regulations of having three feet of clearance around the meter. This was required by LADWP to replace my old meter. My HOA was adamant on me paying for my own landscapers and submitting weeks worth more of paperwork to remove bushes around my meter. If it weren't for Kobi, I would not have been able to inform my HOA of the compliance standards and it saved me weeks delays and landscaping costs. I requested quote from 4 different Solar providers in my area. Some are even from far northern California willing to go down and help me in saving energy. The first quote I got was from SolarCity and they were really dedicated in helping me. However, I didn't feel as though my service my personalized so I got quotes from 3 other providers. Kobi was the first one to personally schedule an appointment with me face to face to explain all the details of my system. He was very patient and passionate in what he does. He was very informative and I didn't feel like it was a sales pitch at all. Mainly, he just highlighted the benefits of the program. I am already sold on the concept. In fact, I have already been saving up for the system. I just needed a company I could trust. Cost and efficiency is very important to me and they sure did delivered. If there's one thing, I think the scheduling needs to be adjusted. I had my installation scheduled on a Friday but the panels didn't arrive. Nobody worked over the weekends so we had to wait for Monday. Although installation was quick, we still needed to wait for the inspector to make sure everything is in order. SunSolar installed our 6.65 kW solar system which included 20 roof panels and an integrated inverter / EV charger combo. Kobi the owner and his team are very professional, knowledgeable and polite. I have an electrical engineering background and had many technical questions, each of which Kobi was able to explain in detail. I also appreciated the fact that he was very transparent about the system he was proposing and that he provided the model number and datasheet of system component, so I knew exactly what I was getting. There are many aggressive and annoying sales people in this industry, who primarily rely on high pressure sales tactics to make a sale. Kobi's approach is the opposite: He is low pressure, knowledgeable, competent and honest, which made the decision to select his company an easy one. SunSolar took care of the complete installation including the permit. The crew was very careful when installing the panels and even pointed out several roof tiles that were damaged prior to the installation and replaced them with a few spares I happened to have on hand. They also cleaned up the jobsite nicely and painted the exposed conduit to match the paint of the stucco. When there was an issue with the app for the EV charge, Kobi diligently followed up with the manufacturer, until it was resolved and since then everything has been working perfectly. Additionally, SunSolar helped me with the additional paperwork needed to apply for an EV charger rebate. SunSolar is an outstanding company that provides a great product and service. I was introduced to Kobi from a neighbor who used SunSolar US to install his solar panel system. The neighbor has been using the SunSolar US installed solar panel system for about 8 months, and he didn't have any issues with it. In fact, the neighbor was very happy with SunSolar US and recommends this company wholeheartedly. I've sat down with Tesla SolarCity and similar solar companies, and either their price was too high or they couldn't answer "basic" technical questions. Or, the solar company attempts to sell you questionable lease (instead of a purchase) on the solar panels which you will not own after everything is paid off. I have a degree in electrical engineering and Kobi was able to answer my "technical questions" with precision. The reason is that Kobi was trained in engineering and he understands all aspects of the design and installation of solar systems. What impresses me was that Kobi produced a layout of my solar panel systems on my roof using satellite images on his visit to my home. Further, Kobi immediately recommended a purchase rather than a lease, and he offered a solar loan with very manageable monthly payment for 1/2 of what I'm paying SCE Edison. Further, Kobi arranged my solar loan through a reputable credit union which charged the interest rate below what a home equity loan would have cost me. Moreover, this loan is considered a personal loan, and it doesn't attach any lien to the home. Other questionable solar companies pushed home equity loans or property tax loan which all attaches a lien to the property which could make it difficult to sell your home. Moreover, Kobi allows you to select different brands of solar panels and inverter to assemble the best solar system for your home. i went with Q-Cell solar panels (Germany Engineering) - Q-Cell has won the top industry awards in the solar industry. Further, I coupled it with SolarEdge inverter - the most reliable inverter in the market. Beware - many solar companies don't tell you the exact model or manufacturer of your solar panels - most likely they are giving you third tier solar panels. You should insist on Q-Cell solar panels since the panels are rated top tier PLUS. It means the solar panels are tested to have very high efficiency and will be able to capture the sun even during cloudy days. With my solar system (Kobi installed a large solar system for me), I was able to still achieve close to top efficiency even on cloudy days. To get an idea of the efficiency of my installed solar system - the typical household uses 25 kwH per day according to SCE. With the solar system Kobi installed, I was able to generate 80 Kwh per day on a continuous basis. In other words, if I would use 80 Kwh from SCE Edison, my electrical bill would have easily surpassed $650-$700 per month. My solar monthly payment is less than 1/3 of that SCE Edison bill. Therefore, for the excess electrical energy that I generate, that is being fed back to SCE Edison automatically, and SCE Edison will give my money back for the electricity. All homes which are installed with a solar panel system, the SCE considered such home as electrical generator facility - you actually sign an agreement with SCE Edison that you can sell electricity to them and reap actual money from the excess electrical energy from the solar panels. The solar system has been very reliable and produced more than under my contract with US Solar US. Finally, I paid 1/3 less for the solar system than most of my neighbors, because I asked them how much they paid. When I told them how much I paid, their jaws dropped.... They all said that they should've have used Solar US to save money and to have a better solar system. You should talk to Kobi directly to get the best price and service. Just ask them for an estimate, and you will not be disappointed. read more

Kobi and SunSolarUS were wonderful in every aspect of my solar system installation and operation. I am writing this review several months after the system was installed and it is working perfectly! It works exactly as I expected. And is has been like that from the beginning. The initial quote covered the planned system in detail with possible contingencies depending on the condition of my electrical panel. As Kobi had warned, the San Diego inspectors decided I needed to replace the panel. Kobi included the replacement in the system and it cost less than outside electricial quotes. They were fast and clean in the installation process. I was updated daily so we could understand what was happening. Upon completion Kobi went through the system operation with me carefully, including the mobile app monitoring system. Weeks later I had questions and Kobi responded immediately.
