I was looking for a vegan meal and found it. I wasn't expecting it to be inside the Whole Foods Market. I think the instructions online should indicate that. A bit misleading. Let's start off with the French fries. They weren't very good but edible. That's the worst of the review. I have found my first bean burger that I liked. They did a great job composing it. The so cal burger is definitely worth the try. I also enjoyed the beyond beef burger just in case. Of course it was delicious but I am trying to ween myself off of the beyond meat products in general. The tempeh bacon was questionable. In general, I don't think I like tempeh so I wasn't expecting too much. It was edible but I do not think it added the flavor I was expecting. There are plenty of vegan products that can offer a better experience. The drinks were delicious. I grabbed two to try out different flavors. Their ketchup tastes homemade. It's was cool but I believe it could be better. Overall, I was very happy and would go back for the so cal burger and lemonade. read more

I am boosting NLB 1 star since their nice team lead there, MacKenzie, verbally told me what she was relayed as the ingredients, which are surprisingly simple, if true; comparable to the few ingredients used by Spun. Something like coconut milk, coconut cream, sugar - possibly another ingredient. Thanks MacKenize! However: still zero direct response from management here, nor to my email, nor to my Facebook messenger request. I've been a couple of times. I like the ordering process and the staff are all very friendly. Good small fast food themed menu. I like that they use organic ingredients and are plant based. What I don't understand is the price. I spent $40 before tip on 2 small milkshakes, 1 small tater tot (12 tots), and 2 single patty burgers. It may be called 'Burger.' Shakes should be in the name. They are simply fantastic. Whether it has brownie in it or just some peanut butter, I cannot wait for dessert. The burgers, fries, tots, and other sandwiches are all great, too. It's the shake that surprise ya. The service has always been good in the four or five times I've gone. I hope there's another one coming. Getting in and out of Whole Foods downtown isn't the most fun. The shakes are priced fairly well. The anticipation for this was real and it did not disappoint! It was a busy Friday afternoon when I was there but I only waited for one minute to order at one of kiosks, then it was only another five minutes until I got my meal. Where quick and efficient system them have. I got a Crispy Chick'n Sandwich with no pickles, and Chocolate Soy Shake. The shake was super thick and honestly probably the best vegan shakes I've ever had. This is a tasty plant-based burger - trimmed with tempeh bacon and american cheese, lettuce and tomato with organic pickle (yum) on a sprouted grain 7-grain bun. I splurged by having an order of tater tots (baked - I can do this...and I will switch from fried!) Ordering kiosk is easy to use and customize orders, plus there's the option of ordering from a cashier. Next Level never fails to satisfy my midday fast food craving. I've tried each burger on the menu and each has been delicious in a fancy fast food burger type of way. I have yet to try their hot dogs or chili fries but I'm sure they will not disappoint. They use high quality, organic, fresh ingredients and have several gluten free options. Packaging isn't too over the top either. One more positive, their milkshakes! Sooo good. I like to treat myself to a mint chocolate chip shake with whip cream! There are definitely a few things they could improve on however. I believe their google listing needs to be a little more clear that they're located INSIDE of Whole Foods, I know I was lost the first time I tried to find it. The burgers could be packaged a little better as I often struggle to keep it together when removing from the package, just know these are loaded burgers and you'll probably get a little messy. Last thing--what's with the regular burgers not coming with fries. The kids meals do but you gotta spend another few bucks on top of a 10-15$ burger to get regular fries, come onnnnnn read more

First corporate plant based fast food chain in Austin. I'm impressed! Tried the special sauce cheeseburger, added tempeh bacon and red onion. Delicious! Next time I'd have them cut in half because it fell apart while I was eating it. Great flavors and texture. $15 for burger and small fries (no drink). Pretty steep for fast food. You're billionaires! Amazing... vegan and gluten free HEAVEN!! I wish it were in the domain Whole Foods too or just a stand alone building (I'm a realtor if you need to find commercial space)... I've never really had safe food options at Whole Foods before so it's been nice. I really don't like driving all of the way to downtown and dealing with the crowds and traffic though. I'd eat there twice a week at least if it were more convenient. I think about this place every day, but have only had it twice since they opened! I've had some veggie burgers and always compare the next one to those that I have had in the past. I was excited about Next Level simply because of the name and a pretention to go there. I opted for The Animal because I was hungry! It's a beast of a burger with two patties, fake bacon, lettuce, tomato, fries, vegan cheese (I got the gouda), and grilled onions. First, the patty was floppy and didn't even try to taste like a burger. It doesn't have to taste like meat but when herbs and spices are added to it can convince the taste buds its actually meat. Second, the fake bacon was probably the worse. It didn't try to even look like bacon, more like a brown jigsaw of paste put together. I had to pull out the bacon because it was actually ruining the rest of the burger. Don't get me wrong, it hit the spot, mostly because of the size and I didn't feel like I was going into a meat coma either. For those that love, good for you, but I'll continue on my search for my next vegan burger. read more

I'm not sure if it's always like that, but toddlers are picky so my daughter didn't eat it. My friend ordered the same and they forgot the drink and her fries. I ordered the spicy fries. I liked the seasoning, but the cheese didn't melt and I didn't feel like packing 2 kids up just to tell them. I would go back but I would definitely have to be specific about my order. As much as I love the food here, I have had consistent issues with service. Even when ordering in person, I won't receive a text when the order is ready, and next thing you know 40 minutes have gone by where I've been left standing around next to the register and no one has assisted or even asked what I'm waiting on. They rudely said "you'll receive a text when it's ready" but then I literally pointed at the bag and had to say "well I didn't receive a text but that bag right there has my name on it", only THEN did they say "oh I guess the text just didn't go through that happens sometimes" as if it's nothing. Next Level Burger was overall a great experience! It was cool to use an IPad to order and have a no-contact experience especially during COVID-19 rn. The only downsides I found was that the food was QUITE expensive even though it was a meat substitute restaurant--the price for JUST the burger was a surprise, it didn't even include a side and it was sad to see that a small side of fries was $3-$4 dollars. They also didn't have a free cup of water for non-soda drinkers. In addition, when we submitted our meal and paid, we both didn't receive a text message saying " We are preparing your food" which scared us cause we didn't have a way of proof to prove that we placed an order. But overall, the food was great but I don't think I'll go back cause of the price and confusion. read more

WOW. This place is amazing! It took me so long just to choose what burger I wanted because everything looked so good. So much can be personalized which was really cool. I ended up getting the classic cheeseburger with their special sauce and pepper jack cheese. SO GOOD. Love the texture of their buns and everything stayed together so well. Also tried their chili cheese fries which were delicious as well. Loved the peanut butter shake! I usually don't love vegan cheese but this was great. I got the crazy double decker burger that looks like a Big Mac and it was excellent. The Mexican/black bean burger was not as good with the flavor but was still very good. We also got the cheese fries which were delicious. I would come back here again and again.
