This was a solid burger, not just nice tasting but a decent size too (as you can see from the photo). The truck smelled amazing from a far so I can only imagine what else they were cooking in there. the only draw back I can think if is the fries. I'm jealous. Why Austin has more great food trucks and fabulous food truck parks than Houston? I was introduced by Phillip B about his love with Stonehouse Wood Fire Grill's burgers. When I first arrived in Austin, I had to stop by to check out this place. Chase, the chef, was so friendly and easy to talk to. He gave me a quick introduction about the food. I was freezing cold and I didn't want to ruin my dinner with Tracey S. So, I ordered the 4" pecan pie ($5). It was so yummy and it was not as sweet as other pies I had before. Next day, I had The Wake-Up Call Burger. It came with a sunny-side up and the yolk created a dripping mess as I bit to it. I wanted another pecan pie, but they were sold out. I chatted with Anna, owner/operator about how I found this place on Yelp (after the address corrected). She was appreciative. I've never been to their previous location. After I saw the photos from last biz page, I like this location at Mueller Lake Park. In combination with other food trucks, Stonehouse Wood Fire Grill makes a perfect sense for meat-hungry folks after their workout in the park. I found more seating areas besides in front of the food trucks. It looks like I'll be back to Austin more often. Stopped by this place on a whim and it was so good!! The owner was so nice and friendly!! I ordered a chicken salad and talk about yum!! I really enjoyed the chicken it was seasoned and prepared so well. Had a little kick to it nothing to crazy. The ranch was divine. I'm a ranch lover so there is that. We can back for snow cones and the were the old time kind. The kids loved them and the were very reasonably priced. I will definitely be back when in the area to try more things!! While I came back to this spot for some more Booty Locos, I decided to try Stonehouse over Conscious Cravings. Debating between the lamb pita and the ATX burger, I went with the latter. It was damn good! However, the toppings were not--in fact--toppings. They were sides. The jalapenos and avocado were literally on the side of my burger and the bacon fell out upon my first bite (see pic). I loved the bun but I didn't like how each bite tasted wildly different. Firstly, 11 points out of 10 to Cam, who was working at the truck. This guy effuses positivity. Give the man a raise. I had the veggie pita and the cilantro rice. Honestly, it wasn't great. It wasn't bad, but it just wasn't great. The pita was pretty fresh but it felt like it was missing flavor. The rice was spicy and I don't think I tasted any cilantro. I hope they tweak the recipes and make them better. I am a vegetarian and haven't had any of their meat options so I can't comment on that. Perhaps the meat options are better. read more

I don't often leave reviews, but I'm doing so in hopes that the business will consider this constructive criticism. Their Yard Bird burger is super delicious, but the menu needs to updated to specify that it is made with a very spicy CHIPOTLE mayo. Currently it is listed as "Mayo." It is a great sandwich. I don't really like spicy things but I was able to eat about half of it anyway just because it was so good, but the spice became too much for me and I had to give up. I'm going to try it without the "chipotle mayo" next time, maybe add some regular mayo, and see how that is. Overall great business and great service. My husband loves the lamb pita. Who knew something so good could come from a trailer. Who am I kidding, this is Austin. We were driving by the park and got hungry, so we decided to come check out the trailers and see if anything sounded good. I could not be happier that we stopped. The trailer park is filled with tables to allow all of the trailers to seat their guests. We ordered the Stonehouse Slammer and the Chicken Pitta. They were a bit slow and getting the food ready but I am realistic when it comes to good food and don't expect it to be like a Jack in the Box. We both took our first bite and looked at each other to make sure the other person had the same thought. Both sandwiches were filled with flavor and excitement. The the combination of food items could not work better for the Slammer. The pita was the perfect fit meal, not too filling but not leaving you hungry. Both of us left wanting more. Absolutely the WORST service I've ever experienced. My family and I were out for an Earth Day festival this weekend and thought we'd try this food truck. It smelled great, and even though the line looked pretty long - it's a festival, right? There was obviously a line of folks also waiting to get their food after ordering, but that's typical as well. We get up to the window after a pretty long wait and place our order. It wasn't until AFTER the order was paid for that the lady at the window tells us it will be 40 MINUTES! What?!?! I asked her to repeat it, I was so surprised. She looked at me, huffed and said "Yeah, well, we're really busy". I asked why they didn't say anything to the people in line or at the very least as someone starts to order, which would've been the courteous, professional thing to do. She again huffed and said, "Well, that's just what it is". Fine. I'm starving, my 1yr old is starving, we're all hungry...so we wait. We find a nice shaded place to sit in the grass while waiting. And waiting. And waiting. Twice during the 40 minutes (which turned out to be an hour, btw) we just checked on the status, being told both times "We haven't even gotten to yours yet". Finally, after an HOUR, we are told they are OUT OF BURGERS and won't be making our order. I'm sorry...what? They didn't even call our number, we had gone up to check once again and were told this. On top of this, there were other things in our order we could have gotten (burgers aside), but they didn't even offer that. They simply said, we can't make your order. Needless to say, I'm furious at this point. To add insult to the already serious injury, the guy looked at me and said "So...what? You want like, a refund?". W.T.F? Yeah dude, I want a refund. And an apology. That I never got, btw. Annnnnd to top it all off - I just checked my account and the cash refund they gave me on site was about $4 less than what I was charged. I've now tried the Wake Up Call and the ATX Burger here and both have been delicious. I would recommend NOT getting the double patty. These patties are large and it becomes a huge mess trying to eat a double patty burger. Pretty sure I did this both times and pretty sure I ended up eating one patty separately so I could manage the full burger. Both times, the wait to get your food has been non trivial and many people order their food from pick up - pro tip right there. Definitely a good place to go in the Mueller area if you want a quality burger. Not on the level of Hop Doddy's but definitely better than anything else in the area. read more

We came out to meet our friends on a Friday night. This was one of our friends most favorite burger place. Hubby got the ATX Burger no jalapenos or avocado. I got the Chicken Pita. Lady was very nice at the window and asked if we had any questions prior to us ordering. We took a seat at the many picnic tables that were available. We happened to be there about 45 minutes before they closed, it was a chilly night and there was no one else there. We sat and visited with our friends and then our food came out all together. My chicken pita did not disappoint. This was a full, large and in charge wrap. Plenty of chicken, tomatoes, cucumber and tzatziki sauce. I got a bite of hubby's burger and it was damn good. I recently came here after watching a movie at the Alamo. I really like all the food trucks in this place and have been wanting to try them all. Stonehouse and conscious cravings were the only ones open at that time. I decided to give Stonehouse a try since most of the people seemed to be going to them. I ordered the flying bird and my brother ordered a regular single patty burger. My other brother ordered the BBQ one. As for myself, I really enjoyed the flying bird. I especially loved the spicy sauce they used on it although they did put too much of the sauce. My brothers single patty was alright. The patty didn't have much flavor and it just tasted a little plain. The BBQ one was better. The sauce along with the onions gave it that sweet flavor. Otherwise the burger would have tasted plain. I really recommend the flying bird to everyone especially if you like spicy sandwiches. The burgers are alright. The sauces are what gives them their flavour otherwise it just tastes a little too plain. I accidentally posted this review under their old location, so reposting here...I headed over to the food trucks one day for lunch, and low and behold, a new truck! Recently relocated to Mueller, I believe Stonehouse is here to stay. I remember reading rave reviews when Stonehouse was located off Balcones Dr, but never ventured over to try it. The burgers sounded delicious, but I wanted to try something that wouldn't be so heavy, so I decided on the lamb kebob with chimichurri sauce. The order took a while to come out - at least 15 minutes. I like the fact that everything is grilled to order, but a little forewarning on the wait time would have been nice. I happily and hungrily walked back to my office, sat down at my desk, opened the box, and there was no chimichurri sauce =( The whole meal, which included two kebobs with grilled lamb and veggies over rice, was lacking in flavor without it. The kebob had a nice grilled flavor, but some of the lamb pieces were super fatty and I couldn't eat them. The rice was also a little dry and could have benefited from the sauce. Nice selection of grilled options from a food truck. I tried the zucchini burger. It was a loose collection of zuc and other veggies on a warm bun with a mildly spicy sauce. (Just enough.. to keep things) r on a warm bun with a mildly spicy sauce. The veggies had a nice char on them - and the burger held together loosely...so keep a firm grip on that bun. They forgot to get me my drink, so I paid for a drink I never received, and I was too far away to go back due to work obligations. The sandwich was good! But when I returned we were hoping to get tacos, but the place was closed. Tonight, I got the chicken pita. The bread was a bit tough. You can go down Aldrich and get a really good pita from Halal corner for a better price that includes fries or rice. I also got a mango snow cone. And it had basically no flavoring. I really wanted to like this place. It was close to home, and is heard good things. We ordered takeout on a weeknight around 7/7:30, and they closed at 8. I ordered the ATX burger, and there were just a few tiny pieces of avo on it. My boyfriend got a lamb meal and there were just 4 smalls pieces of lamb kebab, mostly veggies and rice. Maybe it was the end of the night and they were skimping on food. Maybe they didn't want to open another avocado so they just want used the tiny bit that they had left.
