Best burger I've had in a long time! I wasn't sure what to expect, as it was a "pay before you eat" place. The presentation for our food was very trendy and appealing. (See pics). The location was perfect, the lines were fast, and our food was amazing. Yes, we will go again when we go back to Austin.

4.5 Loved the truffle fries!!!For $10 you will get a huge basket with delicious sauce, and it is totally worth it. I ordered Cadillac Wagyu burger, which was a very good burger. The components were perfectly cooked, but balance was lacking - everything was a bit unevenly distributed, no harmony. Unfortunately bacon was way too rubbery, very hard to chew. Overall i loved my experience in hopdoddy and i will absolutely be back for those heavenly fries and a tasty burger

Randomly popped in to Hopdoddy on a Monday night for a late dinner. The place was super packed, already a good sign. The inside is alot larger than what you would expect looking at it from the outside. You order your food further inside and while in line, a server asks you how many are in your party so that they can go and scout out a table for you. Originally we decided to split a wagyu smash and truffle fries since we just had Amy's before, but the burger was SO yummy, we both wanted another burger. This time, we went for the double bacon jam and also a shake. The burger was good, but honestly too salty because there wasn't enough jam and nothing else to cut the fat. It was a bit hard to finish. Shake was yummy, my friend said it was too sweet, but honestly I thought it was fine. Vibes of the place were immaculate, totally a hangout spot! Would totally come again!

The magic shroom burger was 3.5/5 stars. I felt like the burger needed more flavor. Overall it was good.

Every time I pass by this place in south congress it is packed with people. I came here on a Sunday night and there was barely anyone there most likely due to the freezing weather. We had high expectations for the burgers and in short - they fell short. The burgers were overpriced and were overpowered by the toppings. The shroom salad didn't really have any depth of flavor either. Just lettuce, sauce and a patty. Would not get again. I did enjoy the fries.

Hopdoddy Burger Bar is a fantastic choice for anyone who loves a good burger with a gourmet twist. The staff at Hopdoddy are friendly and attentive. The truffle fries are a must-try. Crisp, golden, and tossed in truffle oil with a sprinkle of Parmesan. The portion was generous, perfect for sharing. The star of the show is, of course, the burgers. Hopdoddy offers a wide variety of options, something for everyone. I ordered the El Bandito Veggie with pepper jack cheese instead of goat cheese and the brioche bun. It was so filling and flavorful! My bf got the Cadillac Wagyu. It was well cooked, flavorful and the right amount of aioli. I would recommend 100% this spot!!

First time here - the truffle did not exist in my fries - brought them home to put in my oven because they were hard and not fresh. Burger was okay. Overall, a bit disappointed.

We walked from our hotel and were greeted with so much warmth right away. We were seated instantly and had the sweetest server, Sarah, who was incredibly helpful and attentive the entire time! They started us off with popcorn which was such a fun first lol. We ordered the Brussels sprouts appetizer and they were absolutely delicious! My husband got the chicken & waffles with a side of eggs & bacon, and I ordered the chicken fried steak from the lunch menu. Both plates were AMAZING... seriously some of the best food we've had! Then they brought out cornbread and omg... SO good. This place became such a staple of our trip and we already can't wait to come back. Friendly staff overall. The food fell flat for almost all of us. The salads were fresh and good. However, the ribs were below average. Cornbread was stale and not tasty. Biscuits tasted more like firm bread and not at all flaky/soft. That seemed weird to all of us. Chicken fried steak was soggy and not crispy. Drinks were ok. Not quite sure why the food was subpar, but there were 10 of us who all agreed we wouldn't return for food. There is a swanky little cozy speakeasy in the basement that may be good? We didn't try that.

So we thought we would make a whole night of it. Tiffany did make reservations for us for 7pm and even though this is a bar hopping neighborhood, even at 7pm it was pretty busy. Streets were full of people. Anthem had a vibe. I felt the energy as soon as I waked in. The cozy booths with the U shaped seating with plush green velvet fabric. Wait staff wore Hawaiian shirts. Sitting up behind me on a ledge was the Easter Island statue. Insert (Night At The Museum) here, dumb dumb give me gum gum. Anthem was our first stop tonight. Just drinks and a dinner. I ordered the Peach Fuzzy drink. Not too sweet, refreshing, peachy, and beautiful garnish of a flower. I ordered the Yummy Fries which looked like a salad. Gorgeous presentation. Fries were actually waffle sweet potatoes. Pickled ginger, sesame seeds, furikake, aïoli and a few other wonderful ingredients. Could not get over how beautiful everything looked. Presentation outstanding. Service delightful. Had a wonderful time at Anthem. We both did use the ladies rooms before leaving. Inside the bathroom there is a sign about safety and if you need assistants. I did take a picture of it. On our way out, Brian the manager, said good night to us and waved. Both times, the food has been spectacular, the service off the page, and the atmosphere and ambiance magnificent. We tried three mezzes last night, and each was killer. The hummus was the smoothest I've ever eaten and with the brisket, it was killer! We tried the whipped feta with pistachios, and it was special -- salty/sweet and a little something special to make you wonder just what the spice was. The lamb & beef keftas were also excellent, with the lemon rice and a nice tsadziki -- and we make keftas at home fairly regularly, so we know what a good one tastes like. The only regret that we had was that we only have one stomach each. A second would have allowed us to keep tasting... Don't miss it. Even the patio dining was cool and refreshing -- and it was 86º when we were eating dinner!

Music Lane is a beautiful area with corridors bustling with fresh air, which greatly contrasts the area not too far south of it. Aba lies within these corridors, so I was completely gobsmacked to see the size of the establishment and its number of seating. There are outdoor tables, a dedicated bar section, a decently large interior, and patio and sofa seats for the people waiting. Even then, the place was completely packed, so getting a reservation is an absolute must. Not only are the prices completely reasonable, the food itself had everything that I was looking for: a delicious spread starter, a balanced fiber dish, and an entree with intentional flavors and texture. The Short Rib Hummus is a must get! It is incredibly filling and completely worth the price. The short rib was a nice meat protein since I opted for a seafood main, and the pita bread that it came with was lightly seasoned and was as fluffy as it could possibly be. I could not eat much of my Brussel Sprouts because it was also very large. However it was not too oily or drenched, and each bite had a perfect light crunch, which is the standard for Fried Brussels Sprouts. Top it all off, the Grilled Branzino was the finisher to my savory dishes. The grill gave the fish a roasted flavor, which was complimented by the sweetness from the corn purée. The various greens, roasted tomatoes, and corn pieces themselves added bites of textures and secondary bursts of flavor. I can see why it took a month in advanced to book a decent time at Aba Austin. The atmosphere was so perfect because the air flows through all the doors and windows, allowing the diners to enjoy fresh oxygen. This place is a must visit, both as an experience and a meal that is WORTH the bill.

The cocktails were delicious, although definitely on the pricey side. Unfortunately, the food didn't live up to the setting. The portions were extremely small, and the prices felt very steep for both the quality and the amount served. While the presentation was nice, the taste simply didn't justify the cost. On top of that, having to pay $15 for valet added even more to an already expensive evening.
