We wanted the job done right, and we were hesitant to select a contractor without a solid referral. Coincidentally, a neighbor a few houses down had hired Attic Rescue a year or so before to perform the same job on a floor plan almost identical to ours. Needless to say, they were extremely pleased with the work, the pricing, and especially the people they dealt with at Attic Rescue. I contacted Emiliano and he came out and provided a comprehensive quotation within two days, and we were able to schedule the work two days after that. I can't say enough about the work ethic and teamwork this group brought with them. Emiliano, Tomas, Elizabeth and their crew of three barely paused over two full days of backbreaking work in an attic temperature of at least 100 degrees. My wife and I were SO impressed! They were extraordinarily thorough in vacuuming ALL of the original blown in insulation, and in removing and reinstalling brand new flexible ductwork throughout. The new ducts are now suspended from hangers which makes for a very clean look and easy access for anyone needing to enter the attic in the future. Their preparation in isolating the work areas and keeping everything remarkably clean was impressive, and believe me, this can be a very messy job if not done with planning and preparation. O.J. Insulation just completed a sizable job at my personal residence that included installing foil…read moreradiant barrier in (4) separate attics between my house and guest house. I have a black composite roof, so the attic temperature was reaching over 130 degrees on hot days. Since the installation of the radiant barrier, I'm already experiencing a temperature reduction of just over 20 degrees. To confirm that, I have (5) window gables that aren't directly over living space and thus didn't require the installation of a radiant barrier to those sections. Now I can easily monitor the temperature difference with (2) quality digital thermometers and confirm the difference between the untreated gable areas and the treated primary attic spaces that are directly above my homes living area. This is a remarkable difference. My ceilings are no longer radiating heat into my home like they were before (even with the R19 ceiling insulation and gable vent fans that were originally installed). My air conditioning units and ducting, which are in the attic are no longer struggling to keep up due to extreme attic temperatures and now running less often to keep my home cool. Now let me talk about my experience with O.J. Insulation. First, I called (3) companies that stated online that they install radiant barriers. The other two companies both made appointments but didn't show-up or call to reschedule. O.J.'s estimator (Paul) made the appointment, confirmed the appointment the day before and showed-up on time. He was thorough with his inspection and suggested the best approach to achieve the attic cooling goal I was looking for. A week later a (3) man crew spent an entire 3-days working in my attics, which at the time reached temperatures of 120 degrees (I don't know how they were able to work in those conditions). The entire crew was polite, courteous, and extremely hard workers. My wife even made lunch for them every day because we were so appreciative of what they were doing for us. I highly recommend O.J. We finally got a person to come see us and they didn't have the parts needed. Needed 7-10 days to get the parts and come back. My 82-year old mother was having some problems with her AC with it losing refrigerant. With this ongoing heat wave, the AC was losing refrigerant at an alarming rate and my mom was having it done perhaps monthly and costs were piling up with the system still not fixed. This was when I finally tried to get a hold of Green Comfort after reading great reviews on Yelp. I initially got on Green Comfort's site and encouraged by how it's owned by a fellow Army veteran. I sent them an email via their site, on my mom's behalf since I live in FL, inquiring about an estimate for getting my mom's AC fixed. That message wasn't answered. My mom called them and while initially told her location is outside their service area, a tech named Perry came out to assess the issue on a Tuesday. Once he showed up, I spoke to him on the phone to let him know what's been done and to hear what his plan is to fix the system. He informed me that a 2-man team will have to come out to locate and fix the leak on Friday at 8 AM. My mom waited for AC tech from Green Comfort to show up at 8 AM Friday morning...and waited...and waited. She called the office repeatedly and a man named Franklin assured her that someone will show up. Noon came around then 5 PM and still no tech showed up. My mom waited all day and nobody from Green Comfort showed up and not even a courtesy phone call. Totally unprofessional! I even called them Saturday morning when they opened and nobody answered their phones. I even sent a message to the owner listed on Yelp and that was unanswered as well. With this ongoing heat wave, it is totally unacceptable and dangerous for an AC company to leave a customer, an elderly woman at that, on a lurch. At least have the decency to let a customer know the truth so other arrangements can be made.
