REPRESENTATIVE SAYED/SAYYED/SAED was very DISRESPECTFUL and VERY DISHONEST. My experience with NextCar at BWI was unacceptable.Firstly, I was charged for an ungraded I never requested and a damage waiver that was never properly explained. Sayed/ Sayyid/ Saeed (the Indian representative there), was mostly disrespectful that I booked online. I booked for a two day rental and was charged for three. The car was in the lot at 1:25 PM which they didn't mark it as returned until 1:42 PM and I was charged additionally for another hour I didn't have the car. The final bill was far higher than the advertised rate, mostly due to the add-ons I did not approve. What should've turned out to be a $196 rental was turned into $453. This kind of pricing is deceptive, and customers need and deserve honesty. I will NOT be renting from this company EVER AGAIN!!! Update: It's been more than a week and not even an email or call. The employee at the Dundalk location is very kind and helpful, but he's the only person working there, which makes communication extremely difficult. When I attempted to pay for my rental online, a website glitch caused a $237 overcharge, and resolving it required far more effort than it should have. This was my first time using Next Day Car, and the process was stressful and exhausting. If you're renting a car for a trip, you shouldn't have to worry about issues like this. IF I COULD GIVE NEGATIVE STARS I PROMISE I WOULD!!! Next car stole my money!!!! I paid over $600 up front when I reserved my rental. When getting to the counter for pickup, I simply wanted to change the return date as my plans changed. I was told i cant change it so I requested to cancel my rental and get my money refunded, at which the guy at the counter told me I could not cancel with him, instead he gave me a business card with the name "Pam Jackson" on it and stated I had to talk to this person to cancel and get a refund. Never said to me that I could not get a refund, just that I had to call that person the next day because it was already after 6pm and the person was not in office. Next car sent me on a wild goose chase...when i called, pam never picked up to talk to me nor called me back EVER. I called their customer service number and spoke to a so called manager who said he would reach out to her and call me back.... that never happened. After the back and forth for 3 days I was never refunded my payment I made up front AND I was told I couldnt settle and come pick up the vehicle anymore because the day for pickup passed. Basically I was played out of money and rental and their resoning was a small clause in their policy that you can only find by going to their website and reading their entire policy. It was a setup. Worst place to rent a car...I would recommend people stay far from this company.... they just want to rip people off their hard earn money, they dont work with you and they find EVERY way possible to keep your money. read more

I'd never heard of NextCar until searching for rentals at BWI airport. After a good amount of searching, checking prices for 4-5 days rental (all the big names..Budget, Alamo, etc.), I found that NextCar had the best rate with no 'fees' added to the advertised rate. Getting to the rental car facility was a breeze, and service at the NextCar counter was quick and simple. The car was very clean and looked great, and worked perfectly with good gas mileage. Dropping the car off was just as easy with no problems. Everything went as smoothly as I could have hoped for, and I'd definitely rent from them again. 5-stars all the way! read more

Rented through Expedia. Cost seemed reasonable. 113. But when I go pick up car, they tack on all sorts of hidden fees. End up paying an extra 107$. The initial pickup and agent were great. That experience by far was the ONLY bright spot of my first and last rental with NEXTCAR BWI. The later part of my experience with the BWI location was more than horrific. First, I was advised the location would not be able to take payments from any other card than what was on file. I was out of town and had limited options to transfer funds to my account after I had done so twice already so I offered an alternative card, having a relative come in person to the location to pay cash OR have them take the difference of the extra days out of my $350 deposit. All of which was rejected. I was told that recovery efforts would begin if I did not bring back the vehicle ASAP to which I did on 03/23/24 at 11 am and advised the staff to take the difference of $133 extra days charges out of my $350 deposit and return the rest which would have resulted in a credit balance of $165 approximately. To my surprise, my card on file was attempted to be charged $133 several times and when I looked at the closed contract today, I showed I OWED an incorrect balance along with me owing $333. This location placed the towing and recovery charges on the account when I dropped off the vehicle. I want my deposit of $165 returned immediately and the extra charges removed! read more

We rented a car from them in Tampa. The car was brand new and we noticed there was a small ding (smaller than a pencil eraser) in the passenger side door. They told us that they had photos of the condition that the car was in (which, other than this ding, was perfect). Well when we returned the car they FILED A CLAIM with our insurance for a ding that was in the door when they gave it to us. This is insurance fraud. NEVER RENT FROM THIS COMPANY. read more

So upon arriving to BWI frm Atlanta me and the other parties I traveled with got on the shuttle to head to the rent a car service area where we had reserved a vehicle for our stay only to be denied a rental. The initial renter was denied due to a chargeback made which is valid. So I re-reserved another vehicle in my name and a deposit was taken frm my account to only get back to the register for the worst employee to tell me I can't rent either because I'm traveling with the other party that did the charge back when asked why am I being penalized for someone else's action I was then humiliated by a shouting agent telling me I can't rent either me or my "spouse" who I wasn't with. If you love horrible customer service this is the place for you! They use internet bait to get you into the car you select, when you get there "its not available". Fortunately. they give you get the option to wait a few hours or charge you for an upgrade and give you a bunch of attitude on the house, When the corporate office made the call, the car was now "available" but gave a bunch of lip, nasty text messages and 30 minutes to return the car. I reserved a prepaid a rental at MIA international airport months in advance. I arrived at the counter at 9:45 PM on 12/25/2024. My scheduled pickup time was 9:00 PM. There was one couple in line ahead of me that took forever, I heard them renting a car for more that 5X what I had paid. They then informed me my reservation was cancelled because I arrived more than 30 minutes late. The counter agent explained gleefully that they had no cars and that I would not get my money back. I rented a vehicle through Next car while I was on vacation in Fort Lauderdale Fl. I rented the vehicle through carrentals.com. When I arrived to pick up the vehicle which was as off rental site from the airport the didn't accept the agreement that I had from the online reservation. I had to go into a booth because none of the desk agents was there to give me the rental. It was a bait and switch. They refused to honor the agreement that I had prepaid online and they refused to accept the insurance that I had purchased at the time I made the reservation. I used my own insurance to cover the rental. Once I returned home I discovered they charged me three times the rental fee which I had agreed to. They also charged me a 350 dollar deposit which was supposed to be refunded once I returned the car rental. It's been over two months and they have yet to refund my deposit or the other 300 dollars in unexplained fees. Do not rent from them . This place is a total scam and rip off. (2) roach infested cars! Rented a car from Nextcar for 2 weeks in San Juan Puerto Rico, cost me $1,800.00, which they put on my charge card immediately. An hour after we drove away, a roach crawled out of the vent and you can guess my wife's reaction. I called them the next morning and they told me there was nothing they could do about it and made it obvious they didn't want to hear about it. Over the course of the next couple of days we saw more and more roaches so I got roach bait boxes, put them in the car and the next morning found 17 dead roaches in the back seat with more still visibly running around. I took the day, dropped the car off, and had to demand a replacement. You guessed it, roaches in that car too. I had bait boxes left, put them in the car and found 4 dead roaches the next day in the replacement car. When I dropped the car off, the desk didn't want to hear about it, couldn't care less. Got home and contacted them and, of course, they couldn't care less. I offered to send them pictures and videos but they declined. FRAUD ALERT FRAUD, FRAUD, FRAUD We booked on Dec 25, 2024 from MIA airport for 3 days. PICK UP tile 10.30 AM They had no office in MIA airport. Waited there from 10.00 and another company one switch picked up after 40 mins wait. They took us to their office around 11.00 AM After being in queue for over 30 mins, we realized they were not offering any cars to any of the customers. Only one lady at front desk with minimal knowledge of English). After 30 mins, a rude man(probably their bouncer/goon) said no cars for you since u are late 20 min. We said we are here waiting 20 min and no help . We realized its fraud since they did not offer any cars to anyone in queue One customer was asked $2000 deposit for 2 day car rental, another customer called the police . Police was of no help, possible they were already tied up with them. All of us around a dozen in queue left back to MIA airport using UBER. Only company that had cars was AVIS and they helped with some cars to all of us even though we paid lot higher rates. The vacation was a tragedy, travelling with 2 young kids without food. SCAM!! This company will scam you and steal money from your account for made up charges!!!! Do not trust these people with your credit card information!!! We turned in the car 2 hours early in the same condition we picked it up in. A few hours later we had a new $220 charge. When I called customer service they said it was a "smoke fee". We don't even smoke. Customer service just kept transferring us to the branch that would not answer. We paid a $150 deposit when we picked up the car. The customer service person told me the smoke fee was $100. So not sure how even if there was smoke why we would be charged another $220. We are still traveling and that much is a big amount. Finally talked to a supervisor who said he went out to the vehicle and confirmed there's "ash" in the car! We didn't smoke a single thing in that vehicle!! I'm 6 months VISIBLY pregnant and they're trying to accuse us of smoking to steal our money. He said he is going to reach out to his direct supervisor but haven't heard back while we are waiting on our next flight on a layover. These people are actually trying to scam us out of our money. I recently planned a business trip to Tampa Florida using NextCar Rental Car Company for my local transportation. I pre-paid for two weeks of rental car. I was able to conclude my business 5 days early, returning the vehicle with 5 days of unused rental. NextCar is now refusing to refund me the 5 days of unused rental. Do not do business with this organization. Subsequently I have contacted all my Professional Societies and all have agreed to Black List NextCar as rental car company. As a 50+ employee employer, I have also Black Listed NextCar as a rental car provider for my company. read more

Prepaid rental - Airline was late and were going to arrive 15 minutes after their 9pm office close. They offered NO solutions of refund or willing to stay a few minutes late to serve a customer. All anyone does is repeat their policy of 48 hours advance notice for cancellation and refund. We ended up renting from Thrifty who was open until 1am and had the nicest people even though they were struggling to get everyone in their cars. What a world of difference! Until then, I'm stuck paying the extra $132.50 on a low end car for only 2 days. I have the time stamp on the photo I took of my full tank when I dropped it off. The car had not a single piece of trash left in it and was clean aside from 2 days of driving around in dry weather. We'll see how it goes with Ms Anderson and I'll update my review accordingly. After booking the vehicle with NEXTCAR for San Juan, Puerto Rico. We arrived waited an hour and a half to be serviced. We were asked if we were going through tolls, we stated that we may and the employee recommended that we get the Toll pass and he advised we would receive the difference after we returned the vehicle. We asked several times btw!!! The car was dirty inside, and the mileage/gas did not match what was on the document they provided when we checked out the car. We ended up only going through 5 tolls. When we returned the car, it was an easy process, but after returning home, we noticed that we were charged the full $151 and after disputing this several times with NEXTCAR, they advised me that this was a prepaid and it's not refundable. We even showed our original contract provided at checkout (which they take from you when you come back) but I took a photo of it and it clearly mentions deposits and anounts would be refunded when the vehicle is returned! They told me that I misunderstood and definitely this was not a misunderstanding rather a misguidance by their employee!!! I started getting confused when I got a whole receipt from a different company. the booking website had NextCAR but the emailed reservation was from team xtreme or something. these folks, whoever they are, ARE NOT located at IAH International Airport Houston TX. This is most likely by design because people do research and if youre looking under one name, you may not see poorer reviews. truly deceptive. I don't know what kind of shady outfits these people are running, but I'll be sure to get the word out. I don't know who is responsible for my refund but i know who got my money. DO NOT BE MISLED. The customer service in BWI airport rental car with the phone number 410-461-1500 is less than 5! If there is the number -5 or -10, I would give "-10". I rent a car for my brother from BWI airport and request to pick up the car at 9 AM. But when my brother goes there to pick up, they say the car is not available until 1 PM? I call the 410-461-1500 to ask why it is different on the website and the time for pick up. The representative talks to me in a very rude and aggressive way. "I dont know and I can't help", that all she told me. She does not even let me finish my question and my concern in stead of telling me to contact the third party (without mentioning who is the third party and the phone number for the third party to contact) to ask for a refund? For the whole conversation, she just talked and said that if the local agency said the car is not available then there is nothing I can do. ???? Then if the car is not available, you have to adjust the available time on the website. Otherwise you are lying the customer! Everyone should be careful with this service. I tried to ask her name but eventually she hang up my phone. I eventually asks my boyfriend to call that number again and got to know her name is "Erica". The same attitude, she keeps raising her voice to us (the customers) and ask us to contact expedia for a refund. This time she mentioned about expedia as the third party, not like from the first call with me. And again, she just hung up the phone without listening to the complaint and did not let us finish the question. I think the company should work with this representative for her attitude to the customer which is very inappropriate.
