    The worst rental car experience in my life. I did not know this was an off-airport rental car location, so I had to wait over an hour to get there. Crazy, it is a short ride from the airport to this location. Reservation booked under NEXT rental car. Rental car overview Mex Rent A Car Midsize SUV Houston (IAH) Map and directions Reservation dates Nov 6, 2025 - Nov 8, 2025 Itinerary # 73293790336209 Confirmation AEXP121B94 I had to make a $500 deposit, and the company charged me an additional $84 to use my debit card; this fee was $20 less than the actual two-day rental (I will never travel without my credit card again... I forgot to put it in my wallet before walking out of the house). So, they did their best to get more money out of me for the low rental price. The staff was insulting in so many ways. When I asked why they were charging me the fee for using the debit card, I was told to pay it or leave; other people are waiting. I asked for the employee's name, and he said, by law, he could not give it to me...Bullshit. I understand the hold charge, but $500 is a bit much. He also tried to force the toll prepay option by stating I would be charged $75 per toll passage if I used them and refused to take my insurance. I had to go online to get my insurance card (from my insurance company, not the printed card, but he wasn't okay with that, so I had to show him my entire policy and show him my full insurance breakdown before he rented me the car; never have I had to do this for any other company. All other companies took my USAA insurance card as proof of coverage. Crazy Shit #2! When I returned the car, I received bad customer service again. Once the vehicle was returned, I was not given the option to get a ride back to my hotel or the airport. When I started taking photos of the location and the employee, he said I was being hostile, and I explained that I was documenting my experience there. He got upset and started talking crazy to me. After waiting 1 1/2 hours for the shuttle, I had to take an Uber back to my hotel. I was told my deposit would be returned within 3 to 5 business days. The rental car was returned on November 8. It is now December 8, and my deposit has not been returned. Crazy Shit #3! I have called their customer service number about 10 times and was on hold for 3 hours without reaching a live person. The hold time stated 14 minutes, but again, that is a lie. To date, I have not been able to reach customer service by phone. Crazy Shit #4. If you are reading this testimonial, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! I will never again rent a car from an off-brand rental car company. I have owned the travel agency Personalized Services International Travel Agency since 2010, and I have never had this experience, nor have any of my 1000's of clients reported having this type of BAD customer service with a rental car company. I can't overstate the words, "you get what you pay for!" I will never try to save a little by using an off-brand rental car company, and NEVER AGAIN will I use MEX, NEXT, or any other no-name company!! If I could give NO stars, I would do so.

    The service was reasonably good and the price was also reasonably fine. Generally this was a good place to rent a car.

    Unbelievably rude after they messed up and did not call in the request to whatever the deparment…read morethey needed to for the disability/access adaptation of left-handed hand controls. Seriously, Kenneth accused me first of yelling and then of interrupting. I did neither of which until the very end when he kept interrupting me. All I was asking was that they put as much of a rush on it because they had not put it in right the day before and I needed to get to therapy. He then told me I should go to another office becuase they wouldn't arrange it for me. I sincerely hope that was taped for training purposes. They couldn't have done it more iappropriately. Stay away and maybe choose a differnt company all together.

    I needed a rental while my car was being repaired. Everything was reserved ahead of time. My only…read morerequest was to have a car that was comparable to mine. (Mid sized) they promised me that it would or they would offer something larger at no additional cost. Cool. When the day finally came, They were busy. And at first, they were gonna offer me a little dinky car like a mini copper . I cringed and scoffed at the fact that they would offer me such a joke of a car. I politely declined and stood my guard and stated I needed a larger car. First, they were saying this is all they have. For a Monday morning, I found that to be unacceptable. Don't make false promises . I confirmed my reservation the Thursday before and was assured that my reservation was good. Cuz I stood on businesses. All I knew was that someone would bring me a car because I was gonna be in a dinky car. Amanda told us we had nothing else but a sports car. Ok, I didn't mind at all. The car I had was nice. It took a minute to get used to. When it came to return the car, I was sad. They offer pick up and drop off from the repair facility. All the staff here are very professional and offer excellent customer service. Amanda was great in showing me how to navigate my rental.. Assured me that the other insurance will take care of everything. It helps that there are nearby gas stations to fill up. You wanna make sure the gas is on point. Otherwise, they will charge you more. Definitely recommend this location, but make sure you have reservations and make sure your promises are being honored.
