Dishonest! Receptionist LIED. I didn't have my insurance card, and she said she was unable to do a lookup. Because I was desperate, on Christmas Eve, I agreed to pay cash, even though I knew the insurance must be active. Later, she said she did a lookup, and the card was inactive. ( After saying she was unable to do a lookup!)So I paid almost $800 for a simple visit, because I was desperate. Then, at CVS, they did a lookup, and cheerfully filled the prescriptions with no charge, because the insurance lookup showed full coverage! LIARS! Despicable! I was at this location twice within a month with the exact same symptoms. I explained that I was here from Indiana, helping a friend who has 7 children. I had severe head and chest congestion, a chronic cough and both eyes were red, which was a concern because I am blind in my right eye due to a retina detachment. What concerns me is the not a single, simple test was performed. Not a nasal swab or throat swab for strep or flu. On February 18th, I boarded a plane a Tucson airport, had an hour layover in Chicago and landed at Fort Wayne Airport at 4p. Yesterday, February 23, 2026, I went to the ER for breathing problems and a severe, very productive cough. I was diagnosed with Covid AND influenza B. If I had received these diagnosis prior to travel, I would have been way more likely to have used masks and other precautions or I would have postponed my return flight. I really pray that I didn't affect anyone during my travels. read more

I saw this UrgentCare had received a lot of bad reviews, so I wanted to temper this with my good experience. I was visiting from out of town, had acquired a terrible respiratory flu in Tucson, and wanted to be seen by a health care provider before flying home. I scheduled in advance online, and went as early in the morning as possible. I think I was the first patient of the day and I waited only a short while, maybe 10 minutes. I was examined by a compassionate nurse practitioner and was prescribed medication to minimize my symptoms so I could get home. They also performed a throat culture to make sure I didn't have strep throat. I don't remember the NP's name but she was very good, and bilingual English/Spanish. Considering how sick I felt, I was relieved it was a good experience. read more

I've had mostly great experiences at this urgent care. Previously come in for chest pain, coughs, or food poisoning, so can't speak on other cases. The NP or PA's I've seen were able to solve the cases and prescribe medications to the CVS pharmacy close by, was able to pick up within an hour usually. Do make an appointment if you can! Even if you make an appointment you maybe be seen late, but still sooner than not having one. Also check with your insurance what the co-pay is prior if possible as well. read more

Please, leave your politics out of my medical care. Upon getting COVID, I wanted to see if I was eligible for antivirals--reading about the Federal Government's "Test to Treat" program convinced me this was worth investigating. The timeframe for using antivirals is narrow and my primary care doctor was booked for the next few days, so I called NextCare to ask if I could get screened for eligibility. The representative I spoke to on the phone said that the closest NextCare location was capable of prescribing antivirals--indeed, it sounded like they had them on-hand. This was conditional, naturally, upon the assessment of the nurse practitioner. Unfortunately, the nurse practitioner who was on duty when I visited categorically disapproved of antiviral treatments for COVID, citing their "lack of FDA approval." This is nonsense: the FDA has given these medications provisional approval for a good, well-researched reason and their formal approval is pending. Citing a lack of FDA approval under these circumstances is disingenuous and unscientific. If the nurse practitioner had determined that antivirals were inappropriate for me as an individual patient, I would have accepted her decision as a medical professional. If antivirals were genuinely not approved by the FDA, I would have trusted her (and the FDA's) judgement. Sadly, her behavior was neither professional nor rational--but it definitely seemed political. I don't care what bitter flavor of politics the nurse practitioner subscribed to, but I'm sure that she can feel self-righteous about her arbitrary stance against COVID antivirals. Meanwhile, I can have a longer and rockier road to recovery. read more

I went here two years ago and was completely disrespected by the receptionist, which naturally led to a stressful visit. Ok, that's a one-off. Went here again today and was immediately chastised by the unfriendly, grumpy receptionist for not completing the online paperwork. I politely explained that I had made it through the first four screens but was unable to complete the process and so asked if I could just fill out the paperwork. She implied I had to do it online and tried to stop talking to me. (There was no one waiting behind me.) So I politely picked up where she had interrupted me and explained I couldn't finish the upload of my driver's license because my phone's camera is broken. All of a sudden she had a paper form I could fill out. Problem two: I went here because the website said they do labs (blood work) for my symptoms. When I met with the nurse practitioner, she claimed (and I'm guessing she's correct) that they could not order labs and that I would have to go to my primary (my appointment with my primary is 3 months from now!) or the ER to get the blood work ordered. Fine. But the NextCare is refusing to refund me the $60 co-pay, even though they couldn't offer the referral their website advertised as a service. Fine. They're a big corporation who are more concerned with making millions instead of helping people. The problem is I overheard the receptionist tell the nurse practitioner that she had to get clearance from (personal name) to waive my fee. But when she called me up to the desk to check out, she insisted I had to call the 800 number to get the fee waived. She lied straight to my (masked) face! There are urgent cares all over Tucson. No reason to go to this one again. read more

22nd and Harrison location. Went in last November with numbness in feet and little blood spots all over feet. They thought it was a rash and prescribed prednisolone for inflammation and sent me on my way. Doing my own research online I suspected diabetes so ordered a glucose meter. Measured myself 2 days later at over 400 mg/dl and another doc I called told me to get to the ER immediately. Six months later everything is under control but these folks at this office cannot be considered competent as the first thing they should have checked given the symptoms was my glucose (even with no prior history of diabetes). I would die in the street before I ever return to a location that is managed by someone that has 0 empathy for sick college students. Went for a strep and Flu swab (with an appointment), was left waiting for results and unable to leave for nearly 2 and half hours. Missed my class and everything I had planned for the early afternoon. Then after all that, they said the real doctor was too busy for me and gave me a virtual doctor to look at my results and inform me that I was sick. So the gist of the story is you will be waiting nearly 2 hours to find out something that CVS could do for you in a matter of minutes. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. I needed to get a covid test because my brother got covid, even though my entire family is vaccinated. i waited for 30-45 minutes for them to let me into the clinic. when i got there, i waited another 30-45 mins to see the doctor. she was incredibly judgmental about the fact that i was being tested for covid, and just assumed i wasn't vaccinated (and she was rude about her assumption too). then to top it all off. i finally got tested. this was 3 weeks ago. they said 2-3 days for my results, it's been 3 weeks. thank god i found a rapid test somewhere else and tested negative!!! never going back again. they've always been bad but this was my breaking point read more

When I came here during the school year, my experience was not as amazing but I think it needs to be taken into account the influx of patients that come in when school starts and it's stressful for everyone. my wait time was very short and I was able to get in and out in less than an hour! read more

I came to this urgent care on a Saturday because I wanted to get a covid test before I went home to California that Sunday. A few friends told me this place would have my results within 24 hours. When I got there, the doctor said that I wouldn't get my results for 1-3 days and I didn't mind because if it took 1-3 days, I could quarantine away from my parents until I got my results. It has now been a full week since I got tested, meaning that any results I get from that test is now completely inaccurate. This is not the place to get a covid test if you need accurate results in a timely manner. read more

The NextCare on Park Ave was one of the worst experiences I've had with a medical practice. A little bit of background: I've had a very bad cold sore infection which is made my entire upper lip swell and now bleed. The swelling began Tuesday night and I went to NextCare on Thursday evening and since then it's only gotten worse. Starting off, my temperature was not taken at the door, nor with the nurse, or the doctor. when the nurse was taking my vitals, my pulse and blood pressure are the only things that were checked. I was asked what I thought my height and we were and it was recorded as such. When I finally got to see the doctor, he briefly glanced at my lip with a flashlight and said it was just a bad infection. He never once asked about my medical history, which I felt was important because cold sores are a very common problem that I have faced in the past. The doctor was not able to answer any of my questions and when I asked if I should come back if it didn't improve or got worst he said, "Well... I mean you can if you want to." The doctor then continued to throw a bunch of medical terms at me and ask if I was OK with him prescribing medications without explaining to me what they were or why I should take them. At the time I was completely dumb struct and honestly just wanted some medication because I had been in a lot of discomfort and pain for the last few days. I agreed and he sent me out to the waiting room for another 10-15 minutes. I was called in briefly again into the same room to have a skin culture done. I got the results back today and it is supposedly negative for infection. Regardless of your experience in the medical field, if you have seen my face there's definitely an infection present. Currently, my lip has been bleeding on and off since last night and hurts all the time. Thankfully the swelling has gone down considerably and it's only swollen where the lesions are. I made an appointment with my regular doctor this Wednesday and I'm hoping for some better news. It's safe to say that I will never be going back to NextCare and I strongly advise anyone to stay away from it. read more

I went here on a weekday night because the other urgent cares were booked. I knew they were rated poorly but I had been going on day 7 of intense fatigue and migraines. I went and they said I need a COVID test. I get it, standard procedure during the pandemic, but they insisted they couldn't do any other diagnostics until the COVID swab. I got the swab, and they said results should be back in 1-2 days. On the morning of day 3 I called, and they said the results aren't in yet. I called back that afternoon and they told me that because they shipped it off it could take 7-10 days for the results. I held my breath and said, "really," and then the representative apologized and said the results are in just under a different person. It didn't make sense, but whatever. They said a provider will call me back with the results. I waited three hours and called back. Representative says the same thing, then gives me the wrong number to contact number to my specific NextCare. I call a third time an hour later with my shoes on ready to go to the physical location of NextCare to get my results. This time the representative answers and reads me my results. I asked why the other three representatives couldn't do that for me and she said she didn't know. They said good thing I called or they probably wouldn't have noticed the error. Good grief! This was a great reminder to avoid urgent care and go to your PCP if you can. read more

I waited two hours to get a simple test for a UTI only to be told that I have a kidney issue by a Doctor Who didn't even offer a solution to that either. Spent 2 minutes examining me only to scare me by saying "this is effects of kidney issues contact your primary care provider as soon as possible." Also, told md the number of times I have had UTIs was concerning and that a urologist needs to be contacted ASAP...horrible bed side manner did exactly what not to do... tell the patient worst case and say that is what's happening proposing no solution. There is no reason to go here. The guy may have an MD, but he is not a doctor. He is a prescription writer... and that is all. You pay money to have some person who has no interest in you write you a prescription that you may or may not need. And this is after seeing a nurse who seems to be angry that you showed up at all. I am speaking from experience about this pissed off nurse and a completely detached "doctor" working in an environment that looks like a cheap hotel. Please go to campus health services, the hospital, or even a CVS Quick Clinic (which will do the exact same thing but faster and nicer). This place should not even exist... and trust me, you will feel the same way if you go there and while you are taking your antibiotics or other medication that you probably didn't need in the first place, but no one took the time to figure that out because the doctor has no interest in patients and the nurse seems to hate people. Would give them a negative rating if it was possible. l drove an hour out of my way to get a "rapid test" which they told me they would do with a walk in when I called them, I wanted a rapid test because I have work to do and if I do not have Covid I can return to work the next day. After the test the doctor or who ever it was seemed to act like I never called and talked about what I had discussed with someone earlier today , Apparently the test I received was one where u would wait a week to get results, found that out while sitting in the room for over 30 minutes after I received my test. Waited an hour past my appointment time to be taken back, then waited another 30 minutes for the doctor. She was in there for all of 5 minutes and I stopped her twice when she was halfway out the door to ask questions. Since then, I have spent 24 hours trying to get a prescription filled for antibiotics because one of their nurses who took my vitals typed my birthday in wrong so it is not showing up under my name. I have called this location and their nationwide hotline at least 4 times trying to get this sorted out until I had to go back in person and get a physical script. read more

I was exposed to covid and went in to get tested. I went in on Monday at 2pm it is now Friday at 10am and I don't have my results back. Not only did the doctor seem annoyed I even went in, they had me wait an hour after testing me for the doc to say "so you were exposed and now you trying to see if you got COVID?" "we will let you know your test results" like seriously I had to wait an hour for that? They also dont email your results to you, they have to tell you over the phone. So they called me when I was sleeping and left a voicemail my results are in to call them back. I was on hold with their call center for 50 minutes who put me on hold to speak to the main office (because they can't give the results, it has to be the office I went to) and the main office didn't answer so they left a message for me for them to call me back. Still haven't gotten a call back. I got tested so I can go back to work and this is the second day I'm not able to go in because of how freaking slow they are! Just send an email or a text or leave a freaking voicemail saying "yes or no" like every other place you go and get tested. I'm heading out right now to find a place that has rapid results so I can go to work since this place won't call me back with my results! read more

I'd been seen here before with no issues. This time however, when the receptionist updated my insurance information, they refused to be patient with me and listen to the numbers correctly. Instead, they kept telling me that my insurance "wasn't valid in the system." I assured them that it was if they input the numbers correctly. Thirty minutes later and I walked down the street to the car, far nicer Southern Arizona Urgent Care and I was seen in 5 minutes, treated my kindly and with respect, and told that all the other receptionist had to do was look at my insurance card and write the numbers down in the system correctly. He admitted that I had no bacteria in my urine and the only reason he decided this was because there was MENSTRAL BLOOD in the urine. He REFUSED to examine me, until I demanded it, then didn't even ask me where I was in pain. Listened to my lungs, and told me if I didn't like his DX I could go to the ER. I AM HAVING SURGERY on Friday to FIX THE TORN muscles in my abdomen that he didn't even look at. I AM CUNSULTING AN ATTOURNEY FOR MALPRACTICE. Thank god this wasn't my appendix or another life threatening issue, or NEXTCARE COULD HAVE KILLED ME. DO NOT GO HERE UNLESS YOU HAVE A GOOD LAWYER. read more

absolute WORST service. My roommate went in this morning due to excruciating pain in her back & throat. She finally got seen after waiting for an hour in an empty waiting room for someone to get off their ass & see her, then got seen by an idiotic "doctor" who set up 2 prescriptions at CVS and told her to go to the hospital immediately due to her Keton levels being very high. We then went to the hospital where a new doctor told her that the prescriptions that the Urgent Care doctor prescribed her had nothing to do with what she was sick with. $163 at urgent care + $30 in bullshit prescriptions if there was an option to rate this place negative stars I 1000% would do better. read more

Absolutely appalling treatment. The doctor stormed out of the room like a child when I requested treatment and refused to treat me. Jessica and the other woman at the front desk berated me after I told them that I had not paid a deductible in the last. I was made to wait 4 hours and received zero care. I was treated as less than human by the staff at NextCare and I absolutely will not be going back. I did an online checkin at 2:30 for a 5:30 arrival time. I am at this point not even sure why they offer that service as I have been sitting in a room for 2 hours. This office closes in 26 minutes so now I am wondering what the chances are that when I do see someone they will be able to do an xray that I need. I am a nurse everyone knows we don't go to the doctor till after all of our self diagnosis has failed. Really irritated at this time hope I see someone soon. read more

I've been to this urgent care on 4 separate occasions for four separate reason. My kids are either hurting themselves or sick. All of this times I've come to this locations they have been amazing. I've never waited long and they're super friendly. The PA have been different but exceptional every time. I've been to two other NextCare locations ( old Spanish trl, and Tucson Market Place) and they were horrible. I seriously hate going to er's and urgent cares and if I can find one that makes it less painful then I'm gonna stick to that one when I need one. read more

My daughter is a student @ UofA and came down with a UTI on a Saturday. Campus Health is not open on the weekends. I called our insurance provider (Blue Shield of CA) to find out if this urgent care was in-network. It was the closest facility for her to walk to from her dorm. It was a disaster from the start. Front desk staff said our insurance was "invalid". Well, it wasn't. They wanted us to pay cash for the visit which I am sure would have been in excess of $800.00 & then collect reimbursement from Blue Shield. Have you ever tried to collect reimbursement from insurance? Nightmare!! Bottom line, I finally got a hold of someone from Blue Shield & they faxed all necessary documentation to the urgent care showing coverage. (Yes, my daughter had her card.) Blue Shield said that the person inputting the coverage info was not realizing that because she was seeking treatment out of state, that there is special codes/info that has to be put into their system. That's a training issue for them! Then, daughter goes into the exam room, pee's in a cup, waits for a looooong time for the doc. Doc comes in, and she said he was horrible!!! Didn't really explain anything, said: "I think it's a UTI, but I don't know, maybe kidney infection" just very evasive. She said it was like the doc wrote her a prescription and was like this should work you probably have this but I don't know and goodbye!! What! What a moron. She is feeling a little better & going to campus health tomorrow as a precaution & f/u. Don't go to this facility! read more

I am a little bit confused. Why do they call it urgent care when They are not urgent. at least change the name. My friend was in so much pain and they did not help her in a timely manner. We sat for over 30 minutes. Meanwhile she is throwing up. I would expect better service at a medical center. I would've of driven a bit father for someone to take care of her faster. read more
