This delayed response raised serious concerns about the attentiveness and quality of care. This facility was recommended to us as one of the better rehab options, but my mother felt that the care and therapy she received did not meet her expectations or needs. While a few staff members were friendly and helpful, the overall experience fell short of what we hoped for. She is now settled in a different facility, and we would not return to this one. The staff couldn't have been more helpful, competent and welcoming. We were especially impressed with the facility director, Ms. Jacqueline Mitchell, and the admissions director, Will Rogers. They both made the transition to a nursing home residence for my aunt very seamless and were instrumental in explaining the process to me and my sister. Also, the nursing staff has been outstanding!! The director of nursing even came out to my car to assist the staff in removing my immobile aunt from the car. Everyone on staff is very friendly and helpful. My husband ran out of Medicare coverage for skilled nursing facilities last Fall. How Raleigh Rehab was able to bill Medicare is something to be explored. Since I paid in advance for my husband's stay there I am still waiting for reimbursement from them because he was moved to hospice in the middle of the month. Raleigh Rehab said they'd "Look into it." but I haven't heard anything from them even though six weeks has passed. On Monday I will turn this whole mess over to Medicare. The administration is not only poorly managed but seems indifferent to the well-being of its residents. The turnover rate for staff is alarmingly high, which speaks volumes about the toxic work environment and lack of training or support provided to employees. As a result, the level of care my mother received was inconsistent at best, and at worst, neglectful. Some of the staff were caring people, without a doubt, but staff were frequently overwhelmed, confused and unfamiliar with residents due to turnover. Communication from the administration to families was almost nonexistent. When I reached out with concerns, I was met with indifference or vague reassurances that were never followed through on. Clearly, the main concern of the administration is profits. This is not the kind of care anyone deserves, especially our senior loved ones who should be treated with dignity and respect.

My mother suffered 3 major stokes and is paralyzed, unable to speak well, and requires a high level of care. She's very coherent and understands what's going on around her. A few people on the nursing staff are very helpful and kind to her. Most have the wrong demeanor for this type of work and are mean and ignore even their patients at times. They seem short-staffed and stressed. My mom went without having her teeth brushed for over 2 months causing extreme gum decease. She's gone nearly 2 months without a full shower. She gets urinary tract infections on a regular basis due to not being changed. She's in pain a lot of the time because they don't manage her medications well. Trying to communicate with their admin team has been horrible. The more I've tried to complain, the more they ignore us. Before you admit anyone you care about into their long-term care program make an unannounced visit. Tour the 1st and 2rd floors first. Then take a tour of the 3rd floor and notice how it looks, smells, and the demeanor of the staff. Compare what you find to other facilities in the area and come to your own conclusion.
