As I walked-in a gentleman seemed to be closing the books for the day and looked like the only person around. He greeted me and I apologized for being "that guy" and explained my situation. With a positive attitude and smile on his face Jake said let's take a look Sir. He crawled under the car for a few minutes with a flashlight and then said let's put it on the lift and see if we can take a better look and address your concerns. While on the lift he discovered some minor issues I was unaware of yet, deemed the car safe to drive. I came back to drop my truck off the next day and they confirmed with a different guy exactly what I wanted so there was no miscommunication. Before starting on it, they called me and said they didn't have a super 10 in stock and would be an additional 2-3 days to get in but had a performance muffler in stock so I decided to go with that instead and a chrome tip since they had to build a custom pipe from the y-pipe back. I picked it up on Wednesday (started work Tuesday I believe) and I am very pleased with how it sounds and looks and really turns this truck into what a v8 should sound like. Beware of Phil's Auto Repair. In my experience, this shop is dishonest and will overcharge if given…read morethe opportunity. Low ratings exist for a reason. I've gone there several times for alignments. During my last visit, they told me I needed wheel bearings and gave me a written estimate of about $1,300 for parts and labor. I asked if I could supply my own parts, and they said yes, explaining only that they wouldn't be able to warranty customer-supplied parts. I specifically asked what the labor would cost and was told $645. I ordered the parts and, a few months later, called to make sure the labor price was still the same before bringing my car in. They assured me it was. When I arrived with my parts, instead of pulling up my original estimate, the employee created a new estimate with the labor increased by nearly $300. I stopped him and asked him to print my original estimate. He hesitated and only did so after I repeatedly insisted. The manager then came out and claimed the original labor price was only discounted because I was supposedly buying their parts. That explanation made no sense because I had already told them from the beginning that I would be supplying my own parts, and at that time they still quoted me $645 for labor. They never said that price depended on buying their parts. It felt like an excuse made up on the spot to justify charging me almost $900 in labor. To make matters worse, the parts they wanted to sell me were marked up by more than $500. I bought the exact same brand-new parts myself for only $170. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this shop. Make sure you get everything in writing, compare prices, and don't assume they will honor the estimates they give you. After leaving I discovered that they also have complaints with the Better Business Bureau as well
