Nexus picked us up from the airport and took us to the wrong resort, which was the opposite direction from our actual resort. On the trip back to the airport, the driver turned around, returned to a different adjacent resort, to pick up two more passengers. This would not have been a big issue, but we paid for private transportation. Emails have gone unanswered. Nexus failed both times on the only job they had. read more

Me, my boyfriend, my brother, and his girlfriend all arrived at the Cancun airport at 5pm and exited to head to our shuttle to Riviera Maya. we were meeting 18 other people for a family trip. after passing the other shuttle companies we found a man wearing a nexus shirt. I showed him our ticket and he directed us to keep walking further to the little check in desk where we were greeted and got our ticket scanned. we were told to walk a few feet over and wait for our shuttle. about 20 minutes went by so we asked when it was coming and they said 15 more minutes but unfortunately still nothing came. then it was a back and forth of us asking for an ETA and being blown off over and over again. they would tell us they were "figuring it out" or "one second" and not come back and even just fully ignored us. eventually another man approached us and asked if we needed help. he said he was a taxi driver and could take us to where we need to go for $200 USD and was insisting that we give it to him now. we told him no thank you but he continued to linger and the nexus employees got increasingly more dismissive. about 30 people who arrived after us got on buses immediately and left all while we were stuck begging for a ride. the sun went down and after arguing over and over again an employee told us that no more buses were going to our resort area for the rest of the night. we made this reservation way in advance when we booked our entire trip, its been paid for. I began to realize that the nexus employees were speaking in Spanish to the taxi driver who was trying to get us to pay him. at first I didnt think anything of it because we're in Mexico and I would never assume they were talking about us but it soon became obvious that they were both trying to get us to give the taxi driver money. they both told us that we should go with the taxi and show our receipt to the resort and they would pay us back which was a lie. embarrassingly enough I started crying. the entire rest of my family had been at the resort for hours and were waiting for us/trying to get us there. we were stranded for over two hours at this point and it was completely dark out now. after continuing to argue a bus finally came and drove us. it was truly one of the worst travel experiences I have ever had. don't waste your money, but most importantly don't waste your time, I'm so disappointed. read more

ViP Sanoa from Riu Republica. It was sold as a ALL DAY EXPERIENCE, with a grilled lobster VIP beach dinner. First it was definitely all day but they didn't tell us 5 of our hrs will be on a bus!!!... 3 hrs there spent picking up people or delivering them to transfer places. Stopped at a convenience store with a bathroom for 20 min so we could be pressured to buy something, then stopped at a shopping center for another 25, where my friend had a $65 charge on her CC from a purchase she didn't even make, she did however make a $15 purchase that that showed up on her statement as well. No grilled lobster when we got there a skewer of 4 small shrimp and some squid or coddle fish rings and a buffet dinner was provided. Short time at the beach and a 2 hr ride back to our resort... not worth the 189.00 price we paid!! read more

Beware!!! I had an excursion cancelled with them twice due to bad weather and when I couldn't rebook it again because my trip was ending the next day they are refusing to refund me. They are trying to say I refused to get on the boat for the excursion I paid for and wanted to go on but it was a flash flood rain storm and no boats went out. Even when I sent them videos and proof of the weather they have ignored me and continued to properly communicate. I have contacted my bank in hopes they can deal with it. read more

Do not use this company!! Booked excursions in Jamaica over a month ago which they cancelled due to weather. Over a month later and many many emails later they still have not returned our $450 and won't show any evidence of this being sent. Local agent has now stopped replying and the central agent has also stopped after telling us last week it would be 7-14 days (it's been a month!!!). They're thieves and clearly rely on the fact that you're leaving the country and therefore cannot come back to challenge. read more

CANCUN TO CHICHEN ITZA 1. Our trip was booked for monday. We sleep early sunday as our pick up was at 6:30 am. They forgot to pick up the people form our resort (RIU latino). By phone, they could not do anything for us. We had to wait till 8h30 am until the seller arrives at the resort. They had nothing to offer us : booking for the next day or "sorry". So we lost an other day by sleeping early for the next day that was our last day. Oh, and we were a group of 4 and they only had 2 names on their list .. they call Nexus .. they finally let us enter the bus. 2. The next day, they arrive late at our resort. During the road, they stopped to buy ice for their coolers. We also stopped for 30-45min boarding an other group at 1 hour distance. We then stop for restrooms (?? there are toilets on the bus ??). We stop at a tourist trap " jewelery / 300$ tequilas / unsanitary bathrooms" where they hardly tried to scam us and to see an old church (that wasn't mentionned on the itinerary ??). 3. The "Chichen itza visit" part was ok. Small guided tour and free time. 4. The cenote part ... tourist trap / scam part 2. The host told us in the bus not to buy crap from chichen itza seller as it was scam made in China. At the cenote site, the place were he told us that everything was so authentic, same same souvenir from China to sale at high prices. They started with a chamanic ceremony that wasn't mentionned in the itinery. It took soooo long as we were all starving. 5. When they took us at the resort, they give us a small lunchbox (1 chewy bar, 1 ham croissant, 1 apple). I didn't eat the croissant as it was warm and I do not want to take risk of food intoxication. So it was at 7 am ... we did not eat until 6h30 pm ... so almost 12 hours after the first ... chewy bar ... After a long days at the sun walking. They promise us an authentic maya buffet ... First, it was almost empty, most of the bowl have been emptied by the group before us. It was supposed to be : rice, black beans, pesto pasta, tacos. In the bus, the host talk about a salsa verde for 20 minutes how wonderful it was and that it is not guacamole .. and there were none ! Only a mild tomato salsa. I were starving and I was dreaming about our resort's buffet, but when we arrive at the resort, the buffet was close until 10pm. 6. Oh, and as the trip took so long, it was dark at the cenote part of our trip. We pay to see 2 cenotes. We saw a wonderfull underground cenote, but it was too dark to see the surface one which is supposed to have a bright blue color when the sun shines in it. For us, it looked like a small black lake and it was quite perious to go down on the stairs to see it as it was dark outside. In total, the trip will have lasted 16 hours for a total of maybe 4 or 5 hours of activity. Oh, and also they did not send us a email or advise us to bring towels that was included on other trips so we did the return ride with very wet clothes. Oh #2, and to add the insult to the injury, the saleman told us that the only thing he can do is to make sure that they will give us a NICE gift during the trip. The really nice gift .... a cocktail during the "buffet". I mean, a pinapple juice as it seems to have no alcool in it. The travel for my trip was a disaster from pick up to drop off. This company has false advertisement just to get you to book then it's pulling teeth to talk to customer service about anything. I paid a high price for DELUXE services with a pick up in a Suburban or something similar just for the driver to come in a small SUV. And told me there is no such vehicle class in their fleet. Not only do they scam you online but they also come at a different time than what you request and cause you to almost miss your flight. Didn't call email or anything. Just shoeee up early and left. Getting to the resort was a breeze. We met with one of the workers wearing an orange shirt, she made a phone call and we were easily assisted with a ride after about a 15 min wait. Getting back was a whole different story. We never received any emails or phone calls after the initial drop off. At the end of our vacation we visited one of the representatives 3 hours before our flight only to find out the shuttle had left an hr prior. They did not offer any assistance or refunds. We had to spend an additional $50 USD to book a taxi to the airport. If all had worked out the price was decent, but the communication and customer satisfaction was nonexistent. read more

When we arrived at the airport at 8pm, we expected to be greeted by that driver as we still had an hour drive to the airport. Not only were we not greeted by a driver, but the Nexus agents at the airport were unable to secure us a driver. We waited nearly two hours for a private transfer that should have picked us up immediately. We called, messaged, and emailed Nexus and no one was able to help us. This is, without question, the worst transfer I have ever scheduled. A driver finally picked us up nearly two hours after our arrival and we made it to our hotel past 11pm. I never write reviews but this company was so awful. Their lack of organization and communication turned an otherwise amazing trip into a headache. Even after confirming our shuttle pickup time, the shuttle never showed up. When I went to speak with the representatives they continued to pass me off to the next person. The representative, Will, that had confirmed my shuttle the day before told me there were no shuttles available and that I had to take a taxi. Horrible customer service, greedy. Do not book. My daughter and I were in Costa Rica.The day before the 2nd excursion we were unable to attend we were on a different excursion with the same company. My daughter twisted her ankle on the excursion. I made multiple attempts to reach the company the night we arrived back from the 1st excursion to cancel and explain the situation, never received a response.I tried again in the am of the 2nd excursion.No one responded to me until a couple hours after the excursion began. I was informed the only way we could get our money back, 300$! Was to get a doctors note. That request was not possible. We live in Leominster Ma, this is Costa Rica.We called multiple doctor offices none that would even see my daughter do to not having international insurance. When we were able to get into a doctors appt The doctor we were able to get in with was going to charge me 175$ . My daughter had a swollen sore ankle, painful but did not need xrays or pain need. Outrageous to expect me to pay 175 for a doctors note so I can get my refund of 300$. Not to mention we had paid for 3 taxis just to find a doctors plus cost of multiple phone calls to the excursion company and doctors. I feel very taken advantage of, especially considering we did a excursion with this company they day before that cost 275$ I'm beside myself over this. He had to move groceries out of his front seat to accommodate us. The car was not a Nexus van. We tried to cancel our service for the next day for a single female and they would not refund the money. There was no way we would have allowed a single female to get in an unmarked car and drive 2 1/2 hours. They did not care and would not refund the money. The representative confirmed my return taxi would be coming today at 5:30 am to my updated address. I've been waiting outside since 5:18 am and have called, texted and not gotten any response about where my taxi is. I've been on the phone all morning and as soon as someone answers, they then hang up. It's now 3 hours before my flight takes off and I'm now having to rush and figure out how to get from playa del Carmen to the Cancun airport. We had our vacation airport-hotel transfers booked with Nexus tours and our experience was terrible! Not only did they make us wait nearly 2 hours after our flight arrived to take us to the hotel, they also no-showed for our return transfer to the airport for our departure!!! I sent them 4 messages to try to confirm our ride and they sent 1 automated response with the wrong flight details and a pick up time that would have probably made us miss our flight home. I would never recommend using this company and I would not have except that it was a vacation package with WestJet Vacations that arranged the transfers. I read every last bad google review on this company before I went on my trip (this shuttle company was included) and hoped that I wouldn't have a bad experience but I encountered one as well. Transport to the resort was great which is why I gave two stars but transport from the resort was almost a nightmare. 11:45am was my shuttle time. The rep Freddy (24hr rep at the resort for Nexus) told me to be in the lobby by 11:30am which I arrived at 11:25am. 11:45 rolls around and I asked him where the shuttle was and he says 10 minutes away. 12pm I asked again and he says they may be on their way. So I stand outside with him waiting as other vans are dropping off and picking up people to go to the airport which was 22 minutes away. 12:10pm he asks what time is my flight, I told him I'm to board at 2:30pm but never mind that, I need my shuttle to the airport. 12:15pm he calls someone for about two minutes. Gets off the phone and says nothing to me so I asked well what did they say or what's going on and this guy looks me dead in the face and says " they didn't say anything ". Mind you I heard the word taxi in his conversation. 12:24pm a white van pulls up ( NOT A NEXUS VAN) with six other people piled up with a ton of bags. Another guy loading people up at the hotel says here this is your shuttle. I guess the driver just did Nexus a favor and took us since every van was going that way anyway. At this point, I was just ready to get to the airport so I didn't miss my flight. I would never recommend them, you might get back to the airport, you might not. I just got lucky. read more

Once we arrived at the airport, we were told to take a private taxi van since there was no more private shuttles with NexusTour and Nexustours said we would be reimbursed once we arrived at Majestic Elegance Costa Mujeres. Next day 1/21, the Nexustours Agent said we were scammed by the NEXUSTOURS agent at the airport and we wouldn't get out money back since they do not keep cash. They put us in a unlabeled car, not a van, with a driver who did not speak English so we were concerned he was not taking us to our hotel the entire time. Super unprofessional and unsafe. Used for airport transfer to hotels. Guys who met us out of airport were great. We only had to wait maybe ten mins before getting our own van (did not pay for private) to the hotel. For return trip it says when they will pick up at hotel on the email confirmation. We also got a shared ride back but again with nobody but us in it. Was a great experience. Would do again. Also had booked excursion but hurricane shut that down. I wrote to the person who helped book and they refunded the money promptly. read more

Do not use this company for transport. They are either over an hour late or don't show up at all. I met with Julio at my resort to set up a transfer time to the airport, 3 days before our check out. I gave him my flight information and he said he would text me the information later that day but he never did. So I text him the following day to follow up and he did not respond. I text him again the morning of our check out and he finally responded. He asked for my flight info again, I gave it to him and he told me to meet at the lobby at 120pm. No one from Nexus ever showed up. We called all the numbers we had for them and sent several text messages but did not get a response until 317pm. At that time they told us that they didn't have us on their schedule. So luckily we were able to catch a ride with another company to the airport. read more

We do NOT have time to waste over half our days on this trip with this nonsense, to be lied to and then be told that it was our fault when it clearly WASN'T as confirmed by resort staff. AND THEN, WE GOT TOLD THAT THE DRIVERS WENT TO AMOTHER RESORT INSTEAD OF OURS. HOW IS THAT OUR FAULT? We further got gaslit by being told that it was after all a complimentary service. Do not book with this company! Truly the worst company I've ever had to deal with in the 40 plus times I have been to Mexico. We booked 2 separate airport, round trip transportation reservations. One for my son and another one for me and my husband. My husband and I had our reservation organized by a travel agent for a wedding we were attending. When my son was able to attend the wedding last minute, I contacted Nexus directly. We paid $80 per person for round trips to and from the airport. When my husband and I arrived at the airport, nobody was there to take us to the hotel. We waited 30 minutes for our driver to arrive (our flight was not early). The same thing happened to my son when he arrived a couple of days later. Not a big deal to wait 30 minutes but a taxi would have been cheaper and immediately available. When our trip was over and it was time to return to the airport, Nexus never picked us up at the hotel. My son left a day before us. We had been reaching out via email to Nexus to coordinate a pick up time. We could not get a straight answer from them. My son ended up taking a taxi after they never showed. Shockingly, the same thing happened to my husband and I the following day. I spoke with a Nexus representative and sent her all the email correspondences with Nexus as well as a receipts for the taxis l. After a few days, I reached out to the representative again to check the status of our refund. She told me she couldn't do anything but she forwarded the info to someone else. No one ever contacted us. After 2 weeks I sent another email with no response. Finally nearly 5 weeks later, I get an email from Nexus saying please send taxi receipt for my son (which I had already sent). But regarding my trip, I would need to contact the travel agent who booked our trip with nexus instead of dealing with them directly. Clearly they know they never picked us up, clearly they have all the emails, email responses and taxi receipts. Yet they can't refund us? I'm pretty sure I'll never see a dime in refund for any of us. My advice...grab a taxi or find any other company. read more
