The Kitchen Manager was nice .But the Server Santiago Was not so good. He was well groomed. That's it .He didn't have a good personality . He didn't even ask us , how is the food . What is his Steps of service ??? He needs coaching and training. Personality. He was not kind .My Husband asked at one point to remove non drinking water. He never did . Made a dinner reservation for this place for an early birthday dinner and was not disappointed at all. The restaurant is very nicely decorated and is really quaint. The tables are decorated nicely and they have quite a few food options so that everyone can leave satisfied. Since we had eaten so much already in Nola I was not too hungry and opted for the salmon with fried shrimp on a bod of spinach and crawfish mac n cheese which was all so good. Our waitress was very nice and even brought me celebratory bread pudding for my birthday. At the end she even helped take our picture to commemorate this moment. Problem #1: the hostess had such a poor attitude upon arrival. We reserved a table beforehand and while I can appreciate that it was Mother's day and they were busy, the way she looked at my party as if she was annoyed by our presence was crazy. Then, our waiter took our order and literally never came back! He was not the one to put our plates on the table, he never asked us if we needed more water, or anything else for that matter. He wasn't even the one to give us our check or any other bare minimum hospitality actions that one would expect from a highly spoken of restaurant. They were sure to put that gratuity in though!!! #2: restaurants should not overbook or bite off more than they can chew. Our reservation was for after 2pm which was after their designated brunch time but they were only serving the brunch menu because they were so busy which defeated the whole purpose for the reservation because my mother wanted a steak dinner for Mother's day. The staff was so busy and overworked that we didn't even get utensils until our entrees came and we had to ask for them. #3: The food. I'm hoping this was just a one off thing, because it was a holiday - especially because i've eaten at Neyow's before - but the food was not "steakhouse" worthy food. We had the crabcake meal, steak & eggs, an omelet, and a burger. The best meal was the burger and the only thing that was a 10/10 for me was the roasted side of potatoes ‍. The biscuits were good too. All in all, it definitely wasn't the best experience ever, and i'm hoping it was just because it was a super busy day for the restaurant industry but I probably won't be back any time soon. read more

I visited your restaurant to celebrate my birthday, and while the food for my guest and me was brought out quickly, the overall experience was extremely disappointing. The oysters tasted as though they had been prepared earlier and simply reheated, which was unacceptable. I have celebrated my birthday at this restaurant for the past three years, and this was by far the worst experience I have had. Our server failed to check on us at any point. There was no follow-up to ask if the food was satisfactory or if we needed anything. He brought the food, left immediately, and did not return until it was time to present the check. His attitude was noticeably poor and gave the impression that he was eager to leave, despite it only being 10:00 PM. Additionally, I never received my birthday dessert with the sparkler and song, which I had been looking forward to. This was especially disappointing, as it is something I have come to expect and cherish during my birthday visits. We only had 2 waiters for 32 people. As you can imagine things were moving slow. Feel like if I have a good drink itll make it all better. I ordered Hurricane Neyow's which is $35; includes 7-shots Cane Rum Rum, pineapple juice, milgeo orange juice, cranberry. When i tell you it was just juice. But it's extremely expensive and our reason for going to this was They didn't have a table next-door and offered us 15% off, but even though it was 15% off, we paid over $100 for a handful of food . The gumbo was not even hot. It was full of lots of sausage more than seafood or chicken and the chicken head. When we arrived we were told they only take reservations, so I proceeded to make an reservation online. There was like a 1 hr wait. So we walked down the street and enjoyed a cocktail at a local bar. She then goes and speaks to someone and they said they would accept our reservation. After being seated our waitress took another 20 to 30 mins to get our drink order. When she finally arrived we were ready to order. I ordered the charbroiled oysters; my sister and I shared the red fish and crawfish cornbread. My cousin had the steak burger and his wife had the steak. I can't tell you about the oysters because I'm still waiting on them. They never came and nor were we informed that there was a delay. The red fish was dry and not seasoned. The crawfish cornbread was over cooked. My cousins burger was hard. I mean hard like a rack. You could literally throw the bun as a frisbee. He asked for another bun, that took 20 mins too. Remember still no oysters. He did say the meat was seasoned and cooked well. His wife had the steak and she said it was gummy and no seasoned at all. She said the only thing saving the steak was the butter sauce on top. Again still no oysters. After all this we decided to get the check and leave. I then informed the waitress that my oysters never came and she then starts looking for them on the table... lol. Um ma'am they never arrived. As I write this, I'm sitting here eating my leftover steak as a steak and eggs breakfast! There were not a ton of people there but there should have been bc the service was great and the vibes were perfect! The piano player did a great job and was so interactive! My only regret was the appetizer we got- which was the pork. But the waitress suggested another one and I should've listened to her!! But all the other food made up for it for sure! We had to wait almost an hour for a reservation that was set almost weeks prior to. We were made to wait in a stairwell. Tables, glasses and flatware were dirty upon being seated. Multiple guests in our party order were incorrect. Three guests never received their food. The restaurant was not properly staffed to accommodate the reservations that were set. The two serves tried their best to accommodate, but you could tell they just wanted the night to be over as much as those dining. Eh. "Fine Dining" is a bit of a reach. We ended up here because we couldn't get a table next door at Neyow's Creole Café. Our server, Salvatore, which wasn't really his name but it's something similar - he was really nice. Their bread is served warm and is sooooo good. The entrees and sides were just okay though. The lamb chops are really small. The restaurant is narrow. There's a single bathroom so we tried to enjoy our "fine dining" at our wobbly table placed up against a wall all while a line was forming just behind us for the restroom where we could hear the toilet flushing. To top it off, we dodged a family of big a** rats living in the alley right next to the restaurant as we were waiting for our Uber. The alley looked to be filled with junk/restaurant equipment possibly from Neyow's. If they cleared that alley way then maybe it'd help get rid of the rats. I went here for my 30th birthday & the food was not worth the money. Like every dish that we ordered was salty. I had the surf and turf & The pasta had a weird taste. The steak was really good tho! My friend had the lobster. Salty! My mama had to send her crab dip back because it was too salty to eat. For those prices I could've went to Fleming's and got my money's worth. The music was not it either, Jazz and funeral music. I guess they want to be classy or whatever but we could've settled for the regular Neyows.
