This place was so elegant and Cozy. We were greeted at the door and seated as soon as we walked in. Our waiters Bert was very attentive to our table. With each meal Bert changed out our utensils and kept our water glasses filled. The food was delicious, mouthwatering also with the perfect glass of wine with each course. I had the grit-cakes then stuff catfish dessert peach pie!!! 10 out of 10 on this place Bert wins the best waiter of all time

The food here is good but not over the top. The restaurant is very loud so it's hard to carry on a conversation without yelling. We had the mussels, scallop special and pork chop. My scallops looked like they had water spilled on them while my friends did not. It was odd.

I live nearby but haven't been here for a long time. Went for brunch recently and it was as delicious as I remembered! We had the puff pastry, a fried oyster special, the much-touted gnocchi, and the Cuban madame. Everything was excellent including the fries with the sandwich. The gnocchi lived up to the hype and was very decadent. The puff pastry insides had a great flavor- the outer shell was a smidge burnt for my taste. Service was lovely and the rooms are sunny and cheerful.

I wish I could take credit for finding this place. Thanks to "Alexx_Robinson" from Instagram post. Decided to try it for restaurant week. A few of the items on the menu weren't on the regular menu so I had to try it. We had to make an early reservation so that was a good sign meaning all the good times were already booked. From the time we walked in we knew this restaurant screamed elegance and quality. I never order gumbo at restaurants but it was an option and wanted to try everything. So my girls got the gritcake with shrimp heaven on a plate and I got the gumbo. That dark roux and sausage oh my God! We were the only black ppl in there the entire time but was never uncomfortable or felt unwelcome. Bert our waiter was wonderful! Our tab was pretty expensive because we also got the wine pairing but it was worth every penny!

Such a hidden jewel. My husband and I often say we could live in New Orleans 100 years and still could not try every restaurant. This quiet, quaint restaurant is located uptown right across the street from the Ft Laurel sign. It's a must you make a reservation. Our waiter, Bert, was simply amazing: friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable of the menu. We chose to try the restaurant week menu with the wine paring. First course we had the shrimp and grit cake and the smoked chicken and sausage gumbo. The flavors of the sausage, shrimp and roux were simply divine. The grit cake came with shrimp and succotash which was such a savory combination. Paired with the Prosecco was the perfect touch. Second course we had the stuffed fish and the lamb chops. The fish was stuffed with an andouille dressing and was served with asparagus. The lamb chops were cooked to perfection, served with a charred eggplant puree, Wild rice and crispy chick peas: chefs kiss. The fish was paired with a chardonnay and a priorat with the lamb chops: both complimentary to its entrée. Dessert was a peach upside down cake with ice cream and served with a Nieeport White Port that was the cherry ontop a phenomenal meal. We're definitely planning to dine again.

Love this place! A group of four of us were in town visiting for the weekend doing the food tour. We came across writing to this place and it sounded great. It certainly lived up to expectations. The pecan encrusted drum was excellent. I had the beef short ribs. they were, cubed with a light smattering of a macaroni style pasta in when I think it is a a beer and red wine reduction sauce. I'm eating it was tender and extraordinary! Our group, I'll give this place a resounding thumbs up! The service was great and the atmosphere was nice and comfortable. We will definitely come back here next time.

We went here for brunch a few years ago which was delicious. So we decided to have a dinner date night. It's a perfect place for a date night. We sat by the window which was very nice. I had a Pinot Grigio wine which was very good. We started the meal with the delicious bread basket. I would recommend that if you like bread. Our entrees were the paneed pork chop and crusted redfish. These entrees were amazing. We will definitely be back. Our waiter, Kaiden, was so nice and helpful when we were deciding on our entrees.

Crispy 5 Spice Duck Confit Salad

My meal at Patois was okay. I started with the Fried Cauliflower which was good and very filling! My meal consisted of the Gnocchi and Five Spice Duck Confit Leg Salad. The Gnocchi was a bit weird to me. I typically love crab but the crab flavor wasn't good at all. Now the Duck Leg Confit Salad was everything!! Everything about it was perfect! It had an Asian flavor to it and was so fresh and flavorful. I'd definitely return for that dish alone. My table thought that the cocktails were terrible across the board. Patois should taste the drinks and rethink the recipes. Or it's possible that the bartender was off that night. Either way, we were disappointed. Also worth noting, parking is on the street and I suggest avoiding the restroom. It was clean, but soooo tiny and hard to move around without bumping against things.

    How is the food?

Personally I think it's one of the best restaurants in the city with regard to the food. I always try to take out-of-town guests there to show off New Orleans cuisine.

The restaurant had a nice environment and good hospitality. For appetizers, I tried the sizzling jumbo gulf shrimp and char-grilled oysters. Those shrimp were absolutely amazing, the grill added such a great flavor and that garlic butter sauce was drinkable!!! My only complaint was that you only get 4 shrimp that were not jumbo in my eyes, so i'd say this dish was overpriced. While I didn't order the char-grilled oysters I went ahead and tried one. I was hesitant but I was pleasantly surprised, the texture reminded me of a mushroom and the parmesan crust was really good on it. All entrees came with a salad that I wasn't expecting and while the dressing isn't my usual go-to it was really good!!! I couldn't even tell you what it was but it was sweet, garlicky, herbaceous and had a lot of parmesan in it! For my main I ordered the Salmon Lafitte which was grilled salmon with a side of orzo. The salmon had great flavor but was more on the well done side rather than medium well as requested but it was very fresh. The creamy orzo with mushrooms and spinach stole the show. It was delicious and so flavorful, you may need to add salt to it but all the ingredients complemented each other so well and made a very good dish. My sister ordered the Herb Roasted Chicken with Broccolini and Mashed Potatoes which was also a very good dish. The chicken was crispy and seasoned well throughout, again maybe slightly overcooked but the flavor was delicious and the garlic butter sauce that came with it was divine!! Overall, I will definitely be dining here again! I had a memorable time and look forward to making my next visit here!

As soon as they arrived, I picked one up and immediately thought, "Wow, this is incredibly light." Anyone who eats crabs regularly knows that's usually a bad sign. When I opened it, it was completely hollow inside--nothing but an empty shell. A crab that is hollow like that was dead before it was cooked. I never took a single bite. I showed it to our server, Remy B., who apologized and said she would let the manager know. She took the plate away, so I assumed the issue was being handled. When the bill arrived, I was still charged for the crabs. I asked to speak with a manager and explained exactly what happened. She confirmed that I had notified the server and that the plate had been taken away. Then she told me that it didn't matter because their policy is to not give refunds or remove food from a check. Let that sink in: they acknowledged that I didn't eat the food, acknowledged that the server removed it, and still charged me for it. A restaurant standing behind its food is the bare minimum. Charging customers for food that was clearly unacceptable and never eaten is ridiculous. The lack of concern from management was even more disappointing than the crab itself. The only reason this review isn't 1 star is because the young man at the host stand was friendly, professional, and the one bright spot of the entire experience.

It was super close to where we were staying, and since I didn't catch a seafood boil in the Quarter or anywhere else in town, I had to try this spot. My friend and I had our eyes on it, but once our Uber driver confirmed it was a bomb spot, we were all in and it did not disappoint. I even met a lady who drives 45 minutes just to get here, so if she makes that trek, you know this is the spot. I will be dreaming of this place! Being takeout-only gave it that authentic, local vibe, and I loved every bite. Unlike the typical mixed seafood boils, they bag everything separately, and I mixed it all together once I got back to my place. They have some garlic butter you can add, and I got it spicy! It definitely had a kick, and I loved it. I had a pound of shrimp, added sausage, two boiled eggs, the BOMBEST potatoes and corn, all tossed with the spicy garlic butter and I devoured it. Let me just brag on that shrimp and those potatoes for a second: both were amazing. The potatoes were cooked to perfection! Soft, not mushy, and seasoned just right. And the shrimp? Wow. I can still taste it. If you're in NOLA, you have to check this spot out! I will say one more thing though I wish I had room to try the gumbo! I would have loved to taste it here. Lastly, I didn't get to grab a po' boy in town, so we came back the next morning to try one. Sadly, the seafood section wasn't ready yet (we went around 10:30am), but the roast beef po' boy with gravy, lettuce, tomato, mayo, and maybe few other ingredients in it was incredible. I loved it! You'll definitely catch me here again next time I'm in town. 10,000/10. Thank you, cooks! A few practical things: if you're driving, there's parking. The service was friendly, prices were great, and while there isn't indoor seating, the waiting area is decent-sized. Just know it can get busy!
