Seafood grits
Myla M.

So I was scouring yelp looking for a new brunch place I hadn't tried yet. Found this place, it had good reviews but I was surprised I had never heard of it. Idk why it's not in more people's radar but their loss cause this place was amazing. Immediately when we walked in we were greeted by two servers. They explained the set up to us which was that you had to order at the counter but the food would be brought to you. My sister and I struggled choosing what to get as the menu had great options. We were between the seafood grits and the breakfast lo boy. Ultimately we both decided on seafood grits, I know it's dumb but my sister said she didn't wanna share. Honestly I'm glad we didn't because I cleaned that plate. The grits were so good. Perfectly creamy. The seafood mix and sauce was sooo good. Lots of cheese but Not too salty. It was just great. We had no notes. The only con I can think of is the parking but that's the CBD for you. Overall a nice laidback brunch spot with friendly service and good food. I will be back.

Lux was absolutely amazing! Not only was everything beautifully presented, but the breakfast tasted just as incredible as they looked. The crĂŞpe was perfectly sweet, and the pancakes were fluffy, fresh, and topped with the perfect combination of fruit and whipped cream. Everything was rich in flavor and made with so much attention to detail. Such a cute spot with delicious food -- definitely worth the visit!

Banana stuffed French Toast

Solid 4 stars. We had great service by Lo! The food, I'd rate a 4. We tried one savory dish and one sweet dish. The seafood grits were just okay to me. I think they could have used a bit more seasoning, but Lo did bring us some extra sauce which helped. We also shared the banana stuffed french toast and this was also just okay. The bread was a bit soggy and difficult to cut. I think this dish could use some crunchy pralines to take it up a notch. I would probably just try something different next time.

Don't let the line dissuade you, it's so work it! Everything single dish was delicious. Brunch vibes, but it's not stuffy or pretentious. They have so many options that everyone can find something!

The food is delicious and perfectly seasoned. The service was excellent as it is small place and you have wait for a seat however they have staff to fund you a table while the other guest order food! Food came out fast! Very casual place with a cute bar area! I definitely would come back!

Very good food though asking for crisp bacon means it is cooked but still floppy. Makes me sad but could be worse. The potato bow was great beyond the bacon. Service was spot on and gracious though an employee on break? Decided yelling instructions across the restaurant was perfectly acceptable. The property was clean and comfortable with a nice style. Good enough to come back to.

Great service, good food and ambiance, with ample space definitely a must stop when visiting the area. We had a group of 12 and didn't have an issue getting seated.

Great lunch spot! The service was quick and the food good. There is nothing wow about it but it's a good bite to eat. It was within walking distance of our hotel which made it perfect for us! It's in the business district so the atmosphere matches this. If you want a quick bite with super nice staff, we loved our waitress, stop here for a good lunch.

A great brunch spot! I ordered the shrimp poboy and received a MASSIVE poboy with great fries and onion rings on the side. The onion rings were perfectly cooked, fries were as well. The poboy was well executed. Shrimp was fresh and seaosned, all the other toppings were fresh as well and a welcome sight to cut the heaviness of the sandwich. Overall, Lux Cafe brought great food and good service to a cute restaurant! Need a brunch spot? Try Lux cafe next time!

Lux cafe open on saturday 7am to 7pm but unfortunately not taking customers..closed why??

My visit to Lux Café was intended to be a highlight of our first meal in New Orleans. Unfortunately, the experience fell short. Despite the posted Saturday hours of 7 AM to 7 PM, we arrived to find the café closed early. Given the bustling atmosphere in the city, especially with a Superdome concert and numerous seminars taking place, I expected the restaurant to remain open. This was disappointing, especially after a long four-hour flight and a desire to support local businesses. Regrettably, I cannot recommend Lux Café at this time.

Hot the spot! Great food, service. Lo was my server and showed me the best Southern hospitality. Warm and friendly place despite the 32° abnormal temperature. Eggs Benedict came out hot and fresh.

Pancakes were so good

Fast friendly service I felt right at home. I had the lux pancakes with a tea I really enjoyed.

To start, the service was amazing. As soon as we came in, we were greeted by a nice lady who walked us through the entire menu and gave suggestions. She pointed us in the right direction to make our order. The overall aura was very nice. It was quite with smooth jazz instrumentals playing in the background. Our food came out super quickly after ordering. One person in our group had a mix up on her order, and it was taken care of within 5 minutes! Finally, the food was delicious! I ordered the chicken and waffles which were bomb. My partner had the breakfast po-boy which was so good too!

It's not the Lux Cafe I dined at in Chicago. However the food was delicious and service was great. More of a diner vibe.

If I could provide a 10 rating, I definitely would. From the French toast made with the po' boy bread to the shrimp and grits and the crab omelette, my taste buds were so happy. I ordered the BBQ shrimp and grits, and it was hands down the best I've ever had. It was savory, flavorful, and very filling. My friend had the grits and egg bowl, which was also really good. The fresh juices were delicious and paired perfectly with brunch. Ambiance: The café has a lively brunch vibe and feels like a staple spot. It's casual, welcoming, and perfect for catching up with friends while enjoying a great meal. Overall Review: Two Chicks Café is affordable and absolutely worth the visit. First off, that honey butta hot chicken sandwich is so delicious. The spice and sweet and the butta is so rich and leaves a long lasting impression. That is the bite you'll be thinking about and returning for. But don't sleep on the donuts either! Normally I'm not huge on donuts but that lil peanut butta cup donut with the whipped peanut mouse and chocolate ganache...yeah ima need that. It's perfectly balanced with the bitter chocolate ganache, and the light mouse. Obviously, after you're eating all this, you're gonna need something to wash it down. They have an excellent selection of coffee and teas, I enjoyed their chai latte, which wasn't too sweet for my pallet. After I thought I couldn't eat anymore, the chicory ice cream spoke to me so I had to answer. Stopping here made for a perfect day of indulgence than walking up and down magazine Street and shopping. The staff here is so nice too! They let us come hang out back here after we were done shopping and needed to rest for a bit. Which was nice because this place has a decent amount of seating and a little patio in the back and some seats out front. I would absolutely recommend this place to anybody. We checked into our nearby hotel a bit early in the day and was looking to hit the streets for a spot to get a chill/light breakfast, a coffee and maybe a cocktail. We found all the things at Luzianne Cafe. Whether you belly up to the bar or grab a table, both of which are first come first serve, you start at the counter where you order, pay and grab your table number. It appears that during busy times they allow you to sit first and order from the QR at your table, this is an assumption given the code to order at the table, but the sign at the entry directed folks to the counter to order before sitting. For breakfast, we got the breakfast biscuit which came with eggs, bacon and cheese, and sided it with grits. The breakfast sandwich was solid, eggs were a bit soft and grits were more mealy than we are used to, but I think that may be authenticity of the area more than anything. I opted for the three option omelet with onion, sausage and gouda plus a side of sausage links. The omelet, though odd sounding combination turned out to be solid. Maybe it was my options, but it was decently "one note" in flavor. I tossed a little hot sauce on and that helped. However, while the sausage links were not much to look at, they were tasty, with a nice snap to the casing and meaty inside. To go with our breakfast, I got a cold brew with a splash of almond milk while my partner embraced NOLA and started his day with a bourbon sour. Both of us enjoyed our choices! Service was friendly and helpful at the counter/bar. The food runner was nice and then another member, assuming the Manager, that stopped by to check on us mid meal. She was super friendly and nice. We were a party of 3 adults and 2 children (one being only 2 years old), and because of that they changed our table type from a 4-top to a 5-top and made us wait an additional 30 minutes. Meanwhile, multiple tables became available that easily could have accommodated us, but the hostess was determined to keep telling us we had to wait. To make matters worse, there was open bench seating in the back where customers ordering to-go could sit. I offered to order food to-go so we could at least sit down and get started while waiting, and she told me if I did that they would remove our name from the waitlist because "you have to pick one or the other." No willingness to problem solve whatsoever. She repeatedly said she was "sorry," but her actions showed the opposite. I was simply trying to work together to find some reasonable solution instead of continuing to watch everyone else get seated while our family, including small children, kept waiting. Absolutely horrible customer service experience.
