I've come here countless times and the service has drastically declined. They always have staff and welcome walk in's. I came here shortly after 2pm and they don't close until 6. As soon as I walked in, I was asked if I had an appointment. I didn't , so I said no. I wasn't even asked what service I needed. She tells me right away that she can't take me . There was literally 3 women standing around on their phones and no one said if they were waiting for a client or anything. If you can't fit a simple trim somewhere in between the next 4 hours when you have plenty of staff, kindly remove your walk ins welcome sign/stickers from your shop. read more

Booked a last minute appointment. Kim gave me one of my favorite haircuts I've had yet. She not only was knowledgeable with color and my hair type, she was personable and so easy to talk to! I was feeling so great by the time I walked out. It was fun! Her rates were absolutely reasonable. I'd recommend her all day long. read more

I have been utilizing NGA's services for over thirty years. The atmosphere is very cozy. The hairdressers and stylists are really talkative and accommodating. They are always professional. I've come here for over a decade, and I've gotten my hair cut by all the ladies here. None of them have ever let me down! Mindy, Tammy, Trang, Diem, Kim, America are all wonderful and I trust them all with my hair. They take walk-ins and the wait is never long, usually I'm called back almost immediately. They also do appointments. They cut all types of hair and prices are extremely reasonable. Cuts are quick but quality! I've moved out of state now but literally I make it a point to come here to get my hair trimmed up every time I come home to visit. read more

Second visit proved to be better than the first. I called ahead to make sure that the wait wouldn't be long. They were able to get me in in the time it took to drive there. I had just injured myself so sitting and leaning back was nearly impossible. They helped me sit, lean back and even help me stand up from each chair. To which I was very thankful for. My haircut was just what I wanted and they were able to get my in and out in less than 30 mins (with a wash and style!). I didn't get the name of my hairstylist but I think they are all friendly and do great work. I don't get my haircut that often but when I do, this is my go to place. read more

Since the reviewer below me (Janice) suggested Nga Salon's customers leave an honest review, I will gladly give my 5 star review. There's nothing more annoying than someone who doesn't accept responsibility for their interaction or behavior. Imagine if everyone ran 10 minutes late starting with the first appointment of the day?! Late is late, and if you're 8-10 minutes late, how do you logically fault a business when you weren't prepared to arrive on time- and then leave a negative review because you were late and they held a boundary with you. With that said, here is my honest review- I have been to many different hair salons over the years, but no place compares to Nga Salon. My mom, sister in law, and several of my mom's friends all go here. My mom was referred by a former coworker, then she referred the rest of us after having such a great experience here. My mom and I have been going to Trang for almost 10 years and my sister in law gets her done with Kim. However, everyone here is wonderful, friendly, and efficient. I couldn't say enough wonderful things about this salon and I always look forward to my next appointment. A few things that stand out: Trang is efficient with her time and her work is incredibly clean and precise. She always does an amazing job with my hair. My hair is naturally dark and thick and I have been wanting to go lighter over the years. She has carefully worked with me and my hair to get me there, without rushing and damaging my hair. If it was up to me, I would have asked to go lighter a long time ago, but I'm glad I listened to her and was patient with the process. Another thing, is that when I check out after my hair is done, I ask her if I should schedule in another 1-2 months and she suggests I come back a while longer than that. It's evident that she cares about her clients and gives honest suggestions based on their best interest. Thank you Trang and all of the ladies at Nga Salon! read more

The previous hairdresser I've been going to since High School totally messed up my hair. It was unevenly cut, and the layers were choppy. I found this salon on yelp and it was the best decision I made, I was tired of my hair being long and to be honest I had contemplated on cutting my own hair bulky watching youtube videos. However, I'm glad I didn't, you do need to make an appointment to be seen. Also, the would like if you wash your hair before being seen, your temperature will be checked to make sure you have no fever. This salon is taking precautions, so make sure to bring a mask. Also, if possible pay in cash. I loved how my hair turned out, I came in with this idea of my hair cut but the America ( the woman who cut my hair) had made some suggestions that made more sense. Brought my daughter to get a pixie haircut. Making an appointment was easy. Didn't wait long when we arrived. All the stylists there are really nice and friendly. Just wanted to throw in an update - Nga and Trần are phenomenal. I have been to upscale hair boutiques and they don't compare to this little gem. I've been a faithful customer for about 25 years now, and Nga still finds ways of impressing me with her skill and knowledge. They're so friendly too. Nga recently made my hair look and feel like I'd had it done by movie set professionals just on the fly following a haircut - perfectly smooth, tangle free for DAYS. It might sound a little cliché but attitude is everything, no matter how talented or skilled you are. I will never go back to this salon again. The first time I came here I was treated rudely by Kim.I let it slide thinking she probably had a bad day. Now this second time is even worse. I came in a little late 8-10 minutes for a 3:30 appointment,I apologized that I came straight from work but she was snippy letting me know she has a client coming at 4pm and will cut my hair for only 15mins with a smirk. I told her I'd schedule another time because I don't want her to feel rush and make a mistake but she said she will do it. Since I'm already there I let her cut my hair. Then I recall when I called yesterday to confirm my appointment she has a 4:30pm client after me.I figured she's expecting another walk in client at 4pm. Shouldn't you treat your clients courteously by giving them 1 hour of your time especially the ones who made an appointment? Neways time will tell when you know how many clients you've lost. I went for a haircut for a special occasion but ended up being sorely disappointed with Nga Salon. Recently moved to the area and really needed a haircut. Searched for various salons in the area and came across this one on Yelp. I have never had highlights in my hair before but saw a picture of a client with beautiful highlights. Made me want to try to get some. So, I did. Made an appointment and Kim turned out to be the one to help me. Kim was AMAZING. The highlights in my hair and hair cut turned out FANTASTIC. Even better than i thought it would. Nga is AMAZING! She listens to what you want your hair to look like or how you want to style it. Then she cuts your hair quickly and accurately. If you want changes along the way she may ask a question or two to clarify, then adjusts what she is doing to five you what you want. Even my 94-year old, very particular mother makes the half-hour trip from Rainbow to get a haircut by Nga! read more

Just moved near my mom and wasn't sure where to go. Found NGA on here and saw good reviews and decided to walk in and see. I am so in love with my hair! I wasn't sure what to do... showed the stylist some ideas and she looked up her idea and showed me. I decided to go for it! Sooooooo glad I did! Who knew you could get a trim for 20 dollars?!? As a freshman college student, I never would have thought I'd get a professional-like trim for less than your high end 70 dollar cut! I haven't had a trim for months since quarantine started and recently found Nga Salon on Yelp. Being the only affordable salon I've seen with positive, convincing reviews, I came in as a walk-in today, which in fact was worth the wait! The extremely friendly woman who assisted me on the phone was surprised to learn that people were talking online about her shop. I read Kate's review to her and she was just tickled. I knew instantly this salon had the kind of personality I'd just love. Nikki greeted me when I walked in, and I was instantly at ease with her. We talked like old friends. Not a repeat. The…read moregreat: Only a few mins wait for a cut. Cut only took a few mins. We were in and out in like 30 mins. The just how it is: Everyone was nice. It's been years since I'd been in a great clips. Back when it was 6.99. Now it's $20-23. That's just the increased cost of things now. Plus $5 tip. Reviews I thought it was for women n kids but only men were getting their hair cut. No recent photos but reviews recently seemed great. The bad: Asked if the example photos we had were possibly for my daughter's hair type. Thick. Straight. And added we don't have curling irons or any products. Is this an easy style? Was told Yes and that she could do it. Ok great so she got started. Again very nice ladies working here. After finished my daughter covered in hair I was a bit surprised how the cut looked. I asked if there's something we need to know. Advice on how to obtain the example look. She responded well her hair is just so thick. As if to say no. I asked if the starting hair cut was a problem, she said no, only one small hidden area was too short but she said it was hidden so not an issue. So I'm not sure why she cut her hair so short and boxy. She thinned it a little. But if this cut isn't possible with thick hair, a simple Not recommended would have been nice instead of yes then attempt then act like it's great and when I ask about getting it to look like the example then say oh it's just too thick. No other suggestions on how to fix it or alternative cuts, just nada. Also no clean up of the hair at all, I remember being brushed off a bit after cuts and the place we use to go always cleaned up the hair. There was sooo much hair on my daughter's shirt n face. We cleaned her off in the parking lot. I still tipped 25% because again, she was nice and can cut better than we can and it's just rough financially for everyone, so I tip. Not sure how to fix this. We stink at being assertive so my daughter just said "it's fine." We spent the evening watching tutorials on how to fix it but seems growing it back out and maybe asking a few places their options for her hair type is the best solution. Not a repeat.
