Although I am completely satisfied with Kim, my stylist, I was shocked the other day when I arrived. I had an appointment with Kim and she had stepped out. There were two stylists who were attending their customers. When I walked in they did not look at me, nor acknowledge me in any way like "Hi, may I help you," etc. It was as if I were invisible. I sat down and waited a couple of minutes. Then finally I asked if Kim were there. One of them answered me in an annoyed tone of voice saying that Kim would be right back. What a way to run a business. You would think the stylists would work as a team but it was obvious that they only cared about their own customers. The only reason I keep going back is because I like how Kim cuts my hair and that the location is close to home. read more

It was recommended to me to go to Nga Salon about 11 years ago. My daughter and I [now 12] have been going there ever since. Although we have been happy with anyone we get there, I am partial to Nga and Diem- but if they aren't available we have been happy with the others too. It is affordable, and you are in and out- [we get both of ours shampoo, cut and we are out in a half hour when make appts] You can do walk-in too [first couple times we did that. They are really nice ladies too, enjoy going there and don't plan on changing that [ever]! read more

The color was matched perfectly, it lasted a long time (better than the last place I visited and better than a home brew). Ana was my stylist. I made an appointment over the phone for a haircut with Erica. The same day had some spots available, and she asked me what time i would like to come in. I went in with a messed up haircut that was all uneven, and Erica really got it right, even with my very fine and straight hair. I now moved back to San Diego and still drive to Esco just for my haircut! Reasonable price. Also, my hair seems to grow out quicker when she cuts it. Recommend Kim!! read more

I was desperate for a shorter haircut before I left for a year-long trip overseas and was worried how it would grow out if I went too short and couldn't get to a salon. America gave me a great consultation and now a couple months later, the cut we decided on is growing out beautifully without any trims or adjustments. I believe that's her name I said is wanted to keep the length and have layers "3" layers and as we know she should've known what I wanted with my hair touching my ass now it's boon length and it really put a dent into my self-esteem. They have a rude person answer the phone actually saying " what do you want". Made appointment with America, but didn't get her, got Anna instead who did a crappy job. The only place I'll go to get my hair done. Been coming here since my high school days, 8 years ago. I haven't been disappointed yet. You get whatever you ask for. None of that 'are you sure you don't want this kind instead since your face is this shape or your hair is this thick?' kinda service. Waiting time has never exceeded 15 minutes for me. Everyone and I mean everyone is very polite and you actually get remembered and get called by your name. Not like cattle where they're just taking the next client in. Beware that not all stylists are the same! My stylist was running over time so America offered to take me. I figured sure why not. Right from the start, I knew I made a mistake. The hair wash was violent. Water splashing, hair flipping, neck snapping in all directions. When we were going over what I needed, she seemed to know it all. Cutting me off as I was still explaining. I had pictures and everything. She also parted my hair wrong and when I tried to fix it, she stopped and practically scolded me saying that the part does not need to be perfect. Well if you are basing a cut off of my normal part, I would imagine the part has to be somewhat close. She starts slicing away and took off chunks of my hair while whipping me in my eyes with my hair. She took off so much hair that we had not discussed and she just said "I'm not used to working with so much long hair." She basically cut my long hair down to a length she could manage. I left with soaking wet hair and she told me to go home, wash, and style it with a round brush. Of course when I parted my hair normally, my face framing layers were all crooked and I lost a lot of length. Scary experience. I'm wearing my hair in ponytails until is grows out so I can have it fixed. read more

I found this place on Yelp and saw it had good reviews so I decided to give it a shot. I recently moved to Escondido and the hair salon I normally go to is too far. I'm very picky with my hair so I wasn't sure how this was going to work. I called on Monday and got an appointment for the next day. My stylist was Kim who is awesome! She's very funny and talkative which makes for a good time, it's not awkward and boring. I ended up going with balayage and long layers. I'm more then satisfied!! Kim did a great job and works quick. I have medium length thick hair and was there just under 2 hours. That includes color, wash, cut, blow dry and curling. I highly recommend this place and Kim, prices are reasonable also. read more

So much for appts. We arrived here because our original hair stylist was running "a little late" (my a$$). They saw my daughters frantic look and immediately welcomed her. They were very sweet and not only were able to get to work on here mane (lol) right away, they calmed her and made her feel comfortable. We almost had a teenage meltdown before prom but, Nga's stylists saved us from such. I've heard their often busy and hard to get in on a walk in but, they seem to have a vast amount of staff ready to to do their thing and tame, your mane. read more

I have had my hair done there twice. I have dark blonde hair at the crown and then it gets lighter down the length. I have it highlighted to even it out. I saw the reviews and made an appointment. The stylists are fast, but my color came out yellow. The stylist also suggested lowlights. My hair looked mousy and yellow. I saw another stylist a couple months later, but my hair came out more yellow than before. Fake, unflattering and drab. They are very polite, but not properly skilled. read more

I have had my short style hair cut trimmed here for about a year and its always been pretty much a hit or miss. The last 2 haircuts, one being yesterday, by a different stylist was a HORRIBLE butcher job ! I asked for a 1/2" trim yesterday and I left with 1/2" long hair ! Its a crap shoot if you get a stylist who can pay attention long enough to get your hair even on both sides. Right now the right side of the back of my head is noticeably longer than the other. The haircut before last she forgot to even cut the center back and I ended up with a super long stupid DUCK TAIL and super short bangs! If your REAL lucky and wear bangs, guard them with your life because you will most likely leave with more forehead than hair or them being SO SHORT that you will look like like a dork for several weeks! I actually cried yesterday and became very depressed at how bad my hair looks...... and I've decided that I will NEVER go back to Nga's Salon again ! read more
