I got my taxes done here since a family member referred me, but am very disappointed. They don't ask you much questions and file based on their "experience". I also had to wait 3 hours to get it done! After I left I noticed something on my paperwork that I had a questions about and gave them a call to ask, but was told by the person who answered the phone that I would get a call back. I hate this place with a passion. They have kids doing your taxes so it takes forever. Even with an appointment that I made 2 weeks prior I had to wait there for hours... Not good at all. They hired college kids to do data entry, the main tax prepare person spent 10 minutes on my file. I thought they would do better job than Turbo Tax software but there was no better. I will stick with Turbo tax from now on. read more

I have filed my tax here for more than 8 years and never experienced a problem. To avoid the wait lines I usually file my taxes around mid March. I know many ppl complain about the prices being too high here but other tax places charge around the same amount or even higher! Since I have a file here, they file my taxes fairly quick! The ppl working here are always professional and nice and the owners are very informative and know the tax laws up to date. read more

I was referred to Nguyen Thu Tax Services by a coworker and expected great service but boy was I wrong!! On my visit in April of 2013 I was passed off to 3 different people who all worked on my tax return. It bothered me slightly but I tried to be understanding because they were busy and it was close to the tax filing date. My taxes were done, I was charged what I felt was a reasonable fee, and I received my free gift. Awesome right?!? WRONG! Fast forward to October 2013..... I received a call from an anonymous young lady who works at Nguyen Thu Tax Services informing me that there has been an error on my taxes and the Franchise Tax Board will be sending me some paper work which I will need to forward to them ASAP. I was immediately alarmed and informed her that I live in an apartment so at times I don't get my mail and whom should I contact should this occur. The young lady stated that she was unsure but would call me back with more info. Big surprise, I never received a call back. Finally I get the forms in the mail and I attempted to call Nguyen Thu Tax Services in order to forward them the forms BUT no one ever answered and there's no answering machine so I decided to stop by unannounced during my lunch hour. I was greeted by the office manager and made an appointment to pick up my paper work the next business day since I could not stay due to the 1 hr round trip to/from work (which meant there's goes my lunch hour and gas due to their mistake!) I returned as scheduled at 12:30 the next working day (which is also an hour and a half past their normal opening time) and no one is there! I wasted yet another lunch hour and gas! I left a note at their door asking for a call ASAP! Of course no one called me back. After a couple of hours I decide to call Nguyen thu tax service and the office manager answers. She informs me that she remembers me and that she received my note and intended to call. She explains that she was sick and that was why she was not in the office as promised. I then try to schedule another pick up time for 5:30 the same day at which point she tells me she will try to have someone there. TRY?!?! She starts to get argumentative and states that they are already closed at that time. I tell her that someone must be there since I'm not wasting a 3rd lunch hour due to their mistakes. After work I had to rush through traffic which was brutal to pick up my paper. The entire time I was stressed out that she was going to leave. I finally arrive and she apologizes for not being there earlier as scheduled and states that she was late opening the office due to car trouble. Wait?!? She had previously stated she was sick!! When I try to explain all the issues I've had she cuts me off and blames the FTB for the mistake (even though I have proof it was Nguyen thu's tax service that made the error on my tax forms and it's not the FTB that stood me up and lied about it). She took zero accountability for all mistakes and stress her company as put me through. Basically don't go to Nguyen Tax Service unless you want crap service, problems with the Franchise Tax Board, and to be bounced around like a ping pong. Update 3/29/14: The Franchise Tax Board has now kept my 2013 tax return (which as a single mom I really needed) since they have yet to determined if I owe the money (which I don't! This is all due to the typo Nguyen Tax service made on my tax forms). I won't be seeing my money for months later since apparently head of house hold claims take the longest to resolve. Per the FTB rep it could be well into May before they make a decision and a few more months after that before I get my money back from them. Any good tax office would be handling this for me and even H&R or any reputable tax company will guarantee their work and would be paying for this mistake themselves instead of me forking over $1000 and being stressed. read more

I've been going here for 3 years now. They always give you a gift when you use their service. New members get the best gifts! EXP: Bottle of patron, two wine bottles, etc. Return members still get a gift: weighing scale, umbrella. LOL its a nice touch ! Normally tax services just take your money but at least they show their appreciation to their customers! You are in and out pretty fast, there are several assistants and one main guy who checks off everything in the end. They all speak vietnamese so there wasn't much conversation but that's OK. This year they are raffling off a benz! They also have the highest tax return for me, I've compared with 3 other services previously. I went here 2008-2012 to do my taxes, and just only this year I realized TAX THU were scamming me, how do I know because the last two years I had filed elsewhere and they only charge me $30 for the same amount I was getting back with Tax Thu, ridiculous scandalous this place is. They stole over 500 dollars the four years I was there. The old man charged me $175 to donmy effen tax?! Just cause he adds a little more in the miscellany section thinking he did something magic, I should report this place for trying to scam people...plus the service sucks, you guys are rude, money hungry and unprofessional, the wife acts like she's all that, thinking she's high class when she looks like an grumpy old witch. Don't think you give gifts away and it makes your business better NOPE y'all still suck... Bye!! Never coming back and my family stopped going here too. Though this place is good, but they actually a ripped off place. They pretend to BS, say this, say that....act up with old people that doesn't know and over charged them. With the low income people this place really ripped them off, they charged both my mom and my cousin $70 each person which for just a simple filing, other places only $30 or $40 max. IF you don't know and bring to this place as a single file, they can charge you any where from $100 +. such a rip off. Not an honest place to do business. read more
