Don't let those little ponchos fool you. You are going to get soaked, and the roar of the water is incredible. The Visitor Center inside the park isn't nearly as impressive as the Discovery Center Welcome Center, but it offers clean restrooms, a refreshment stand, and an information desk. There are also plenty of fantastic photo opportunities throughout the park and along the viewing areas. The nightly fireworks display is spectacular, though it does get crowded. For wheelchair users, there is a fabulous, spacious ramp that provides easy access down to the viewing level. It's not often that a rest stop feels this thoughtful and well-maintained. The entire space felt welcoming and peaceful. It's perfect for a quick break or even a longer pause to stretch and reset. One of my favorite parts was the big I NY sign outside. It makes for such a fun photo! And inside, the photo opportunity kiosk was such a creative touch. You can snap a picture and send it to yourself right from there. If you're passing through, definitely take a few extra minutes to stop here. It's clear a lot of care went into making this a place people can actually enjoy.

I have been to Niagara Falls many times over the years. However I had never done a tour. I was…read moretaking a friend who had never been there and we stopped at the rest stop on I-90 and talked to a man at the information center. He asked if we had a hotel which we did and he started telling us about the guided tour. We decided to sign up for $129. Per person which included Cave of the winds, Maid of the Mist / Goat Island and Whirlpool State Park. Our guide was Larry a knowledgeable guy with a fantastic voice (He could be a sportscaster or do voice overs on a Commercial!) he drove about a dozen of us on a little bus to all the locations and telling us all kinds of interesting facts and threw in some jokes along the way! My friend and I had a great time and made some friends along the way. I highly recommend the tour! When you think of the driving, paying for parking and paying for each experience, it was well worth it. So glad I got to be a part of Larry's Legends!!!
