Some items definitely stood out much better than other items. The shrimp focaccia appetizer was delicious 10 out of 10 however, the burgers had pretty wide range. The pimento cheeseburger was definitely the best. The pork belly burger was OK, but I would not ever order that again. And the Frito chili cheeseburger was definitely the worst. It tasted like a walking taco with a hamburger patty in it and to top it off the corn chips that I got were very stale. The brussels sprouts could've used a little more char and they weren't prepared properly as they still had a little bit too much stem on them. The french fries were unique and swirly, and tasted like a cross between a steak fry and a potato wedge and I thought they were very good. The asparagus was also just OK. We dined at the bar and I would have to say the service was quite disappointing. We weren't greeted very promptly and we weren't checked in on despite it not being very busy. The attitude of the bartender was quite dry and not friendly or welcoming. I am not familiar with The Walking Dead show, but apparently this restaurant has ties to it. I would not go out of my way to come back here. If I was around and it was an option, I might go back. read more

After a day of visiting distilleries, I was hungry and exhausted. When I arrived at my hotel, I looked for someplace nearby to eat that looked good and Nic and Norman's came up. After looking over their menu, I decided to give them a try. Honestly, I was not to be disappointed. After walking in I noticed a darker, but comfortable ambience, it was busy, and they had a large bar to sit at. Perfect! I was quickly greeted by a friendly bartender and ordered a cocktail. He was able to give me a couple recommendations. Under the sharables, I went with the Meatloaf Sliders. This is House-made meatloaf, mashed potatoes, gravy, N&N sauce, and crispy onions. Honestly, these three sliders tasted amazing. The soft bun had been toasted, the meatloaf tasted great, and well-prepared mashed potatoes and gravy. The crispy onions were a perfect addition. These are a must try! For an entrée I went with a small order of the Southern Fried Ribs. There were St. Louis style ribs, fried, and tossed in N&N sauce. This is normally served with mash potatoes, but I substituted the sidewinder fries. I will say that I'm kind of a BBQ snob, especially when it comes to ribs or brisket. The ribs were meaty and really cooked well. The meat still stuck to the bone but was easy enough to pull off. Never go for ribs where the meat just falls off. They've been overcooked. While they tasted great, I really couldn't tell that they were fried, which I was hoping I would notice a difference. But this wasn't a deal breaker. These weren't the best ribs I've had, but they certainly weren't bad. I would still order them in the future. The fries were fried perfectly and their house made slaw tasted great. Normally I'm not a fan of chains, though there are just a few of these. The food here tasted great, and the service was great as well. If you find yourself in Lexington or any other city where Nic and Norman's is at, give them try. read more

Solid food and experience here. Plenty of seating and a decent sized bar inside. Service stood out here, I eat on the road often and this was some of the best service I've had. Here in Lexington again for the KHSAA Girls Basketball Sweet 16, decided to go to Nick & Norman's for lunch. It was within walking distance of the hotel I was staying in. I sat at the bar as the sign said "seat yourself" Scott was my server. I ordered the Frito Chili Smash Burger with fries and an old fashioned (basil hayden) recommendation from Scott. Loved the Ld Fashioned almost ordered a second. Food came out shortly later and I will say this it was definitely a very delicious burger and very filling the fries were a like spiral cut steak fry. The chili on the burger was good and not over powering. I'll definitely be back here and my waiter was very knowledgeable and helpful on the menu with his thoughts and recommendations. Knowing they serve turnkey burgers is even more of a plus when I come with my wife. read more

Well, in town for work and went for lunch. Got seated immediately and placed order at 11:45 am. The server was friendly and 3 cokes in, still no food. About 12:40 they realized I didn't get order and about 5 minutes later got my food. Ordered the smash burger with Fritos and chili. The Fritos were stale and about 15 minutes after eating, I had to find a toilet. I'll give it two stars for service only. read more

A large group of us came in for dinner on a weeknight an they were all too happy to accommodate us! The manager and his staff were great! Very helpful and accommodating! All the food and drinks were excellent! They offer some nice cocktails which are prepared beautifully and they also have a large list of bourbon, including many new things, not readily available in other places. Some items we tried that were good were their Philly cheesesteak fries - Very cheesy and flavorful! Their starter salad was fresh and their ranch was great! The meatloaf is very nicely made and thick! A huge dinner that comes with some great sauces on the meatloaf and a tasty mashed potatoes and corn bread too! Get a side of their Cajun corn - it was unbelievably tasty! Definitely enjoyed our dinner, drinks, and experience here and would recommend coming here! read more

I go to many restaurants around the city it just so happens I didn't try this one out until recently. I was very impressed with the taste of the food and ambience of the restaurant. The location is fun!! The service was awesome and attentive with good drinks. I even went back a couple more times!! We've been to Nic & Norman's several times and it's always a winner. However, our most recent visit was with a friend who has severe peanut, tree nut, and shellfish allergies. I began emailing with Darrell Richardson on the Monday before our Saturday visit. He was very patient and answered all my questions about safety protocols, ingredients used, etc. I appreciated very much that he took it so seriously, and we had a great experience that Saturday night. Stopping through Lexington for the holiday and came here hungry for a nice steak and bourbon. The bartenders Allie and Bella were super attentive and awesome to have relaxed conversation with over the afternoon. The pimento Mac and cheese was great, as was the steak I came in for. What a fantastic restaurant in Lexington. We tried the pork belly bbq burger with the amazing N&N bbq sauce. The blend of meats were extraordinarily tasty. Loved it! We also had the authentic chili and the warm melted pimento cheese dip. The ambiance was classy and upscale and very clean. The service was exceptional all of the servers genuinely wanted you to have a good experience. Our server, Sydney, stayed to talk to us and we had great conversations. She was an awesome server. This was only our second time dining at Nic & Norman's, and I decided to try something different this visit. I opted for the Chicken Pesto flatbread, and it was absolutely delicious! The pesto was perfectly balanced, and the chicken was grilled to perfection. I would definitely order it again! I'm also obsessed with the vibes of this place. The bar area has an upscale feel, making it a great spot to chill with friends. Plus, there's some awesome Walking Dead memorabilia on the walls, which is a fun addition for fans of the show. I haven't tried any cocktails yet, but I plan to on our next visit. Our server was fantastic--very attentive and helpful in narrowing down our dinner choices. We stopped by after going to Scarefest and didn't realize until we were seated that this was Greg Nicotero and Norman Reedus's restaurant. There are pictures from The Walking Dead all over the walls and a huge photo of the two fellas together. We love the look of the restaurant; it feels very rich, sleek and classy. The bathrooms have a vintage feel with antique decorations and dark lighting. Very cool! We were seated right away and ordered two burgers; the classic and the mexican burger, both with fries. WOW. Their burgers are amazing. The buns are toasted just right and the meat is seasoned to perfection!! The fries are thick and crispy. What a delicious meal!! It was a perfect visit, all except for the service. Our waitress was nice, but we were just not able to keep her at our table for more than a few seconds and every time she walked by to help other tables we had difficulty getting her attention each time. It took her 20 minutes to come over and ask for our drink order and she immediately beat feet before we could say anything else. Five minutes later she came back with our drinks and finally took our order. It was like pulling teeth to get refills and took at least 15 minutes for her to cash us out; we had to flag her down after being walked by at least three other times with not a glance. With that said, the food was so delicious and reasonably priced, the lackluster service would not stop us from returning for another try next time we're in town. Sent the burger back they added cheese and warmed it up but put it on the same roll, completely soggy. Signature salad not enough dressing and only had a few bits a bit of cheese and maybe a tomato with a couple nuts, the lettuces had seen better days. Asked for the signature lemonade and was given Minute Maid. Worst experience in forever Total fail. We had lunch here and the highlight was the amazing waitress who had a great sense of humor and provided great service. Otherwise it was a big meh. I had the Frito Chili burger with fries. The burger managed to be extremely dry despite being smothered in a bland chili sauce. The fries were far and away the best part of the meal. The other people with me had a huge Caesar salad that was just ok and really just lettuce. The other two people had burgers which were basically similar to mine. We returned with a group and I can't really report on the food because as everyone was being served they told me they couldn't make my brisket nachos meal. That would have been good to know during the 20 minute wait for food. In addition the waiter told us about last call but never came to take a last call order. The would have been about $200 additional revenue for a place that seems to need it. There are other way better burger and fries places around here, go there instead. read more

We stopped in for a late Sunday lunch and the place was empty except for one large group. The space itself is cool, I liked the decor. The menu has plenty of options, LOTS of burgers, and a decent brunch menu. We opted to try the brisket and the fajita flatbreads. They're decent sizes and are good to split with someone if you don't want a huge meal. I really liked the fajita flatbread, plenty of toppings and the actual flatbread itself is nice and thick but fluffy and light. The reason I took a few stars off is because of how slow the service was. Our server forgot to bring us plates and after a few minutes we had to get up and ask the hostess for plates. The service overall was a bit slow and had it been a busy brunch sunday I would've understood, but it was only our table of 4 and a table of 8 in the restaurant. It's worth trying again though, the brunch menu looked delicious. read more

Really good place. One of the few times I didn't consult Yelp This place Came recommended heavily by the locals. Apparently one of the owners is Darryl from the walking dead TV series. They cooked my burger like I wanted it, on the rare side. A lot of restaurants won't do that. Fries were awesome. The server Mercedes was great and a lot of fun to talk to.
