    Scallops -incredible.

I love this place! The patio renovation is beautiful. They have a big new fireplace and large windows all around the room. The food is consistently amazing and I have to say that this is in my top 3 of the best food in Lexington. My go-to's are the Lettuces (with pistachio!) and the She crab Soup. For entrees the fried chicken is incredible and the steak will rival any place in town. If you haven't been here, you must try it!

Berkshire pork chop and Brussel sprouts

We had our employee dinner last night. Started off with some great cocktails at the bar. The Black Manhattan and the Vanilla Old Fashioned were both fantastic. Our appetizers were the mussels, meatballs with grits, brie, and oysters on the half shell. All of them were delicious. I had the Berkshire pork chop and my wife had the filet. Some of our other group had the fried chicken. We finished the evening with the cheesecake and the brownie. The food, drinks and service were great. Our waitress, Ashley, was very attentive and made some excellent suggestions on our appetizers and entrees. We enjoyed our seating in the bar area. I know our entire party enjoyed everything about the restaurant and we will definitely be back.

Distilled came recommended from a friend and after looking at the menu we were super excited to try it out. We were a larger group and had no problem being seated and had excellent service. Everything on the menu sounded so good, but I went with something that I normally wouldn't order out just to be a little more daring than just my typical filet or ribeye ordered and tried the Crispy Pork Milanese. The description of hot pepper jelly and goat cheese gremolata made the choice for me. This was a very large portion bone-in pork chop that was cooked to perfection. I wasn't sure how I would feel about the goat cheese with it, but I will say that any time I cook a pork chop moving forward, it will be with goat cheese sprinkled on top. So delicious. And while I didn't get to taste the Porcini Dry Rub Filet or the Fried Chicken, others at the table did order these and the plating was just top notch. We all left full and super happy with our experience. If you get a chance, go check it out. KG Recommended!!

    Creole Shrimp and Ceasar Salad

Spent my visit at the bar, which appeared to be a highly coveted experience. The bartender, Tavvi, was very chic and knowledgeable about local bourbon. She made excellent cocktails and recommended yummy items from the menu. I had both the house manhattan and old fashioned. Both were excellent and left me wishing I hadn't drove, so that I may indulge in another! I had the Creole Shrimp - very tasty and flavorful and the Fried Oysters - authentic and reminiscent of old south heritage. I was very happy with my choices. Would recommend to a friend. The dining area was beautiful and had me thinking what a lovely "first date" or anniversary spot this would make.

Love in the time of Corona
    Kimberly D.

Had a great dinner here tonight while visiting from NY! Our server Kasey was wonderfully attentive. I ordered the Love in the Time of Corona cocktail. It was made well but a little sweeter than what I usually go for. But a good cocktail! My husband enjoyed his Black Manhattan. For apps, I ordered the fennel apple salad, which was so light and perfect for summer. The cheese (cross between Camembert and Gorgonzola) was super yummy mixed with the peppery arugula, and the fennel was refreshing. My husband ordered the crab soup, which had huge chunks of crabmeat!! The soup had a little kick, which he loved, and it was topped with caviar. Great dish. For entrees, I went for the homemade crab ravioli with corn. It was so delicious and not too heavy. It's not a huge dish so if you're really hungry I would make sure to order an appetizer. My husband ordered the 16oz steak au poivre which was cooked so well. Really really delicious, and the garlic rosemary fries were great. We did not order dessert. We did have a glass of the 2017 Rubus Zinfandel which was quite delicious. If we're ever back in KY we will return, and we'll definitely recommend this restaurant to friends who are visiting Lexington!

    Pappy Van Winkle 10-year Bourbon

My friend made reservations here as we were finishing up a great day on one of the Bourbon trails. Parking was weird & tight behind the building, so I parked in the alley. Once inside (and seated), it was warm and chic. Our exceptional server - Ashley - was friendly, personable, & knowledgeable. We could not have been better hands! We started off with drinks (one vanilla bourbon old fashioned and two Pappy Van Winkle's 10 year bourbon). Oooohhhh so smooth! We apparently finished the bottle as the bartender -- Vy -- asked us we wanted the empty bottle. YES, PLEASE! We opted not to have a starter (other than their freshly baked bread to order). For my entree, I selected the Porcini Dry Rub Filet (ordered medium rare), which was accompanied by Okinawa sweet potatoes, brussel sprouts, crispy country ham & herb butter with a red wine sauce. OH. MY. GOD. This was one of the BEST steaks that I have ever eaten! I could have cut the steak with a table knife. The accouterments added to entree perfectly! I forced myself to eat slower than normal so that I could enjoy and savor each taste bud tantalizing bite! One of my friends asked Askley her thoughts on the Chicken dishes, and Ashkey recommended the Fried Chicken stating that is is so tasty and moist. She did mention one of the sides being vinegary, which was a great call out; if you like vinegar, it was spectacular. The entree was so exceptional that I asked Ashley if I could meet/speak with the Chef. Instead, the manager (I believe) -- Mark -- came out, and I told him what I wrote above. With the combination of Ashley's friendliness & fabled service coupled with the well-prepared entrees, I will definitely be back (and I live in Nashville)!!

    She crab soup... ridiculous

So, first time at this place. Going college touring at University of Kentucky. Found this place on Yelp. Cozy little location, live music. But not to loud and overbearing so you can still have a conversation with your table mates. Service by Jordan.... Second to none. She recommended a bourbon.... Perfect choice, and not the most expensive on the list. Service was impeccable. And the portions... just right. If you are visiting Lexington, Kentucky.... Get your ass here!

Except for one couple who were finishing their meal, we were the only ones there. Regardless we had fantastic service and tasty food with the gorgeous downtown views available from the huge windows. I ordered the fried chicken sandwich, which was HUGE, juicy and crispy. The fries were delicious, a very generous portion and very well seasoned. Since we were celebrating we ordered 2 desserts: the olive oil cake and the 10th birthday celebration cake. The celebration cake was a bit dry, but the olive oil cake was fantastic with a lovely combo of strawberries and pistachio cream. A really amazing cake I wish I could have more. Bye Lockbox! The vibes and the ambiance is cool and modern, with art adorning the walls (it is inside the 21C art hotel after all). Tables are well spaced out and benches are comfortable. Open and full of light, this is a great space. Service was attentive and helpful. I started out with the sausage balls, made with creole hot honey mustard, dill, and chili. The texture was really hard and while the sauce was tasty, the sausage ball itself seemed to lack flavor. Next time I will probably try to pimento cheese, which the server said was supposed to be very good (he couldn't speak personally because he's not a pimento fan). For my entree I had the pork belly. And I think I am the problem here, not the dish. It's fatty and rich, as pork belly is supposed to be, but it felt so very greasy to me. I ate very little of this, and this is where my fifth star falls off. I should have gone with the burger or berry beef culotte. I also had a side of fries, which as others have noted, are crisp and well seasoned. They were delicious. They have a nice little cocktail list. I had the hattori hanzo, mad with haku vodka, smoked paprika, pineapple shrub, and pineapple juice. I love pineapple, so I loved this drink that was heavy on the fruity flavor. I also had the temper tantrum, made with gin, grapefruit, lime juice, and thyme. A little sweet, a little bitter, which was perfect for this gin lover. It might have been my favorite. And the Scarlet Manhattan, made with old forester rye, scarlet apertivo, angostura, and orange bitters, it was the perfect smoky end to the night. Looking forward to coming back and adding that fifth star.

Not fancy by any means, but perfectly fine for a neighborhood pub vibe. Business was pretty brisk for a weeknight and there was just one FoH employee who was taking orders (you order at the bar), bringing out plates and bussing tables. Kudos to him for doing a good job handling all that. The BoH kitchen staff did a good job, too, as it didn't take long for our food order to arrive. The menu here is eclectic, which was a big reason we chose this place for dinner. Unfortunately, one of the items we had hoped to try, the Swabian (German) spaetzle, was sold out by the time we got there for a fairly late dinner. We opted instead for the roesti potato. This is a strange dish that involves what is essentially a shredded hash brown-style fried potato topped with sauerkraut, pickled shallots, cheese and a decent-sized dollop of mustard caviar, all served on a bed of greens. It worked, for the most part. Strange taste combinations, but not bad. We also had the blackened tuna Waldorf salad. This was a little different than expected. The pan-seared ahi tuna was cooked nicely (leaving it a bit underdone inside). But it was chopped into small pieces that were fully mixed into a tartar sauce along with celery, shallots, green apples and red grapes. So it was basically a fancy tuna salad. Fortunately, it was a very tasty tuna salad. I wish all the tuna salads you get in restaurants was this good. It was served over mixed seasonal greens with asparagus tips. All of this went very well together and was a really excellent and innovative twist on a Waldorf salad. The menu of draft beers on tap was pretty varied and voluminous as they have their own brewery (Ethereal Brewing). This restaurant is their public house as they call it. I particularly liked their hefeweizen, but they had a porter that was also good. Overall, an interesting place with good food and beer at decent prices. Not a 5, but definitely a strong 4 at least.

Beer cheese was good but different than expected. It was a mix of cheeses made into a cheese ball not hot as others I have had. We then split a Rueben sandwich which was very good.
