Let's Not Meat sandwich: delicious, flavorful vegan sandwich.

Lovely outdoor café near the public library with delicious drinks and sandwiches. Super nice weather and amazing employees. I had a matcha latte with oatmilk and vanilla syrup that was tasty and rich. Despite my familiarity with the vegan lifestyle, I was skeptical to try a sandwich without cheese on it, but the Let's Not Meat sandwich filled with veggies (marinated artichokes are my favorite!), pesto, hummus and all-around goodness was a yummy and filling choice for lunch. I can't wait to come back and try one of their pastries :) Also, do yourself a favor and sign up for their rewards program-- you'll get $6 off your purchase that can go towards tipping the awesome staff!

fairly reliable spot to grab a drink for work. the matcha is definitely more average if anything, but one of the better ones within walking distance from the office so it'll do. i do like the espresso drinks though. they have a good roastiness. i think 50% sweet on all the drinks is more ideal than the regular level

It's all in the name - Nice Coffee is nice! Located in the courtyard of the City National Plaza DTLA on Flower between 5th & 6th, Nice Coffee is completely outside with plenty of tables around but most businesspeople get theirs to go on the way to the office. Nice Coffee is closed on the weekends, so it's only available during the week. They offer your standard coffees and breakfast food like croissants, pastries & burritos (burritos served until 11:30AM). For lunch they offer some sandwiches. Tues-Thurs they offer happy hour (aka Nice at Nite) at 4PM with last call at 6:45PM. For that they offer wine and beer along with some food (lunch sandwiches, hot dogs & pretzels). Happy hour food is served until 6:30PM. Their coffee is good, with their iced mocha being my go-to. Fyi- all coffees come in one size (12 oz) and they charge extra if you modify your milk. Overall Nice Coffee isn't a bad choice if you're downtown looking for a coffee fix.

This place is diabolically predatory and expensive if you get anything other than an unsweetened espresso-based drink with regular milk. I am talking $9-12 drink range for a 12oz cup. Syrup and alt milk are ridiculously priced. The barista just looks you in the eye as they total up the numbers. If you do get one of the drinks that doesn't cost an arm and a leg, the espresso is very chocolatey and a delight to drink. It is probably one of the best coffees in the area. Avoid their matcha because it has no flavor, is slightly grainy, and is significantly more expensive than competitors at this quality. You'll get some fun discounts if you join the rewards program, but HAVE I MENTIONED everything is so expensive that it just becomes regularly priced. It's also located in a cute outdoor space outside of a lot of offices, which makes it very suitable for yap and not to work if that was your intention.

Was at a conference nearby and needed a pick me up. Solid cappuccino, and the pastries here are unique -- I appreciated the cute Cornichon adorning the ham and cheese croissant.

Discovered another solid coffee spot. Even with the 10am rush, service was quick. Great selection of food and drinks, plenty of seating, and a prime location across from the LA Library. The vibe here is just right.

Backdrop of early morning sunshine through skyscrapers and my Latte, facing Flower Street.

I arrived at 7th St. Metro Transit Station and started my walk up to Westin Bonaventure Hotel, then noticed I was early enough to sit and enjoy a cup of joe. Friendly faces at this establishment, and delicious pastries lined up inside a glass case, made it worthwhile for me line up and order a latte. The whole front courtyard area of the City National Bank facing Flower Street is open to customers. I chose a spot and took this picture. Early morning downtown skyscrapers with the morning sun peeping through the "aisles " of buildings.... "Good morning sunshine!"

This coffee was amazing! I didn't realize the establishment would be outside and I was looking for a place to work and use my laptop. But the person at the register told me they are known for coffee not WiFi so I couldn't complain! They definitely know what they are doing with coffee; and will definitely have to come back on a warmer day to sit and enjoy the views.

Overpriced and overrated. Coffee is average, there's much better coffee nearby. I just wanted to give it a shot since it was on my way. The cashier was rude, and rushing me when it was just me in line... I ordered an almond croissant and she did not disclosed it was filled with strawberry and it wasn't labeled anywhere either. At this place you are paying for its location and the nice seating next to the water fountain. I paid $10 for a croissant, $7 for a coffee... and definitely $0 for service. Nice and free place to sit though!

Location: A sense of freedom, a large view, the air , the open sky, between modernity and old charm. Service: Literally the best people you can order coffee from, conversations included. Coffee: Solid, served in ceramic cups (should be mandatory) Food: great snacks and nice mini burritos

Thank goodness for Nice Coffee! Pre-Covid, it was a great alternative to the ubiquitous Starbucks on almost every other city block. Since the Starbucks in the nearby vicinity has been closed, Nice has been an oasis in a coffee desert! The line comes and goes. Sometimes it can be confusing as to where the line ends. They have a great selection of pastries and savory items. The breakfast burritos are just the right size. I haven't had the chance to try their lunch option but I'm sure they are delish! As for coffee, I am a creature of habit and always order the cold brew. On occasion they have a sparkling cold brew (cold brew mixed with a sparkling, flavored water.) It's a short wait for the cold brew. I've seen others waiting for their drinks. I have no idea what they've ordered. Enjoy!

Many years ago, I worked in the building where Nice Coffee now sits. My 1998 mind would have been blown by coffee this good! On a recent visit I was drawn to the beautiful outdoor Cafe. I got in line and ordered my pastry and coffee to stay. Far more than a coffee counter for local workers, the coffee, the pastry, the presentation were all phenomenal. My cortado was excellent. Later, I learned that a founder of the excellent Handsome Coffee is behind the place. That explained a lot. The savory butternut squash pastry was delicate and delicious. Staff were friendly and moved quickly. The morning light made everything look gorgeous and glamorous. Everything about the cafe seems carefully designed in the best way. I'll be back every time I'm in LA.

The oat milk lattes & chocolate croissants are both so good. Love that it's an outdoor cafe with seating. Also they have a cashier that looks vaguely like Chance the Rapper, and he was super nice. Would be back next time I'm in LA

Parking under the library (across the street) is easy and the library will validate if you have a library card. See details here - https://www.lapl.org/branches/central-library/parking

Are their donuts hot (or made to order)?

Hi Srividya. We don't have facilities or proper permitting at the coffee bar to make donuts so we make them at our kitchen and send them over a few times each day. Look out for proper donut retail shops soon!

This included the Rainbow Sherbet and Double Rainbow Sherbet by Prairie Artisan Ales, and Shacksbury Classic Dry Cider. The best was the rainbow sherbet, as it had an addictive sweetness that was more balanced and smooth than the double rainbow. Their food offerings seem good, and I regret not having the stomach space or time management to try! However, it's an ultra convenient place to peruse a good selection of alcohol.

I politely explained I was no longer interested and preferred to leave. The staff was very pleasant and accommodating. However, I would have much preferred to have eaten the food that I ordered. By the time we had left after waiting over an hour for our meal, there were few places in the area that were open to find a meal. Overall the staff was very apologetic, but I for sure will not be returning to this location, especially given the extremely high prices requested for below par service. I would not recommend this place to anyone, as there are many more restaurants in the area offering better menus and far better service.
