Love the owner, love the smoothies, but for the past year or so have had trouble with the current baristas since she's been gone. I've worked on the block for 4 years now and I'd always recommend it to people shopping, but it's changed since then. Talking to other workers on the block , a lot of us have similar experiences; She doesn't greet us or seem happy to be there, seems annoyed anyone is even ordering, etc. First instance happened when I went to order my usual, a matcha blended with oat milk, the barista (the one with the black hair), stated that they don't have that and she doesn't know how to make it. I was confused because a few of us workers on the block get that, but I happily just got a regular iced drink. As shes making it, I noticed that it said "Matcha milkshake," and said "oh wait there it is, it says matcha milkshake" (nicely). She then proceeded to say in an angry tone "That says milkshake, if you wanted a milkshake you should have said that, you said blended." I just shutup and got a little sad, my coworker with me was thrown off as well. She did apologize after handing me my drink, so I just kind of brushed it off and didn't let this experience deter me. Mind you, I haven't worked in a coffee shop in years but I believe a blended is just matcha, milk of choice and ice.. so a little different than a milkshake but whatever. Anyways I just chucked it up to a bad day. I then went back another day and got, I believe, the All is One smoothie. Before she started making it, I asked if I could actually add Acai because I forgot to ask initially (I had a free coffee stamp that day). There was another blonde coworker there at the time, not the owner, and she turned and said "She wants acai in it." They then were just like "Uh okay," she turned to me and said "Are you sure you want acai, it wont be very good" and nicely I said "yes im sure it's super good actually." THEY THEN PROCEEDED TO TURN TO EACH OTHER AND START LAUGHING. Like a genuine, bullying, mean girl laugh, like we were stupid. Turns out, It was actually super good. I just went back today for the first time since then. The attitude was still the same. She's short with her words and makes me feel so bad when ordering anything. There's also a bunch of little things that happen that genuinely just make me scared to order what I want, or order at all. For example, she gets visibly upset when I ask for almond butter instead of peanut butter. It sucks, Niche has such great options and I just want to see them thrive. I've loved loved loved going here, and would get so excited when they first started popping up on Abbot Kinney. I've always wanted to support in any way I can, but I just can't not say anything anymore. I don't want anyone to get in trouble, but just hopefully this helps shift attitude for the greater good of things. I just want to see them improve and not have anyone else experience this. read more

I tried the Scorpio smoothie at the Niche truck on Abbot Kinney. I had high hopes because the flavor profile sounded right up my alley. The First Few Sips: The first five sips were actually incredible. The peanut butter flavor was rich and prominent, and it felt like a delicious, creamy treat. The Experience: However, after those initial sips, the sweetness became overwhelming. It was so intensely sweet that I couldn't even finish half of it. I really wanted to love it but the sugar level just took over everything else. This would be a perfect smoothie if the sweetness were dialed back a bit. Love love the drinks/smoothies however my only downfall is even though it states they are on Abbott Kinney during certain days, they are not. It would be very helpful for buyers to know the exact time frame and dates when they are there. Especially during the holiday season. Perhaps something they can update as they decide to make changes for whatever reason. I've driven to the street they are only so many times following their 'working hours' stated on their website and they are nowhere to be found - waste of time. other than that, can't wait for their shop to open to have more consistency! read more

Matcha was ok. I got an iced but it was still really warm and I would get gulps of warm temp mixed in with the ice so I swirled it around for a few min before drinking it. Maybe their other coffee drinks or smoothies are good. I just wouldn't go here for matcha. read more

I've walked past this truck on Abbott Kinney countless times on my way to Intelligencia, and I should have never stopped. Cortado was awful, I politely walked to the end of the block and left it on the trash can. Maybe their specialty drinks is where it's at because they are a staple on AK but this is not for coffee drinkers. Man, Niche cafe was quite literally my favorite way to caffeinated. I have a local job where I serve the community and I shall leave it at that. I am highly addicted to caffeine andI need a lot of it to keep me going. Niche had the best Americanos in town for sure and believe me I have tried them all. Always the most fun employees too. When they weren't busy the chit chat was always light hearted, humorous, and fun. They servicedwas always quick even when the truck was busy and even when the order cue consisted of more than just coffee. Niche truck fought the good fight against overbearing local government regulation. (I know that fight quite well since I had a restaurant in Long Beach and well lets just say I went through so much bullshit I blocked a lot of it from my memory.) The truck that had replaced Niche has a weird vibe to it. You almost feel like you are supporting some terror cell or some Sheepshead Head Bay Organized crime syndicate. The lighting is dark. The coffee is trash and its just off .... Niche was a Abbot-Kinney staple and the street honestly doesn't feel the same with out it. I'm hoping for a triumphant return like a Pheonix from the ashes but knowing how much the local business owners HATE food trucks and how much sway they have, I am not holding my breath. My friend and I ordered iced matcha lattes from Niche after we managed to find the truck further down the block from the location noted on Yelp. Even with oatmilk and a small size, I felt quite caffeinated with deliciously high quality matcha - fresh, grassy and not at all bitter. It was perfect with light honey! read more

We asked for an iced vanilla latte at the pop up truck on Abbot Kinney. 2 minutes after getting the coffee there was no ice, it tasted like water with no coffee taste and had no vanilla syrup. Definitely not worth the price. read more

One of the great things about this place is that it's on Abbott Kenny. I have a love-hate relationship with Abbott Kenny. I love it, because it has all the coolest stores and everyone is beautiful and the food is delicious and healthy. I hate it because it's so expensive and I feel like a chubby old lady who's out of shape and style. This is not a storefront. This is the place for you if you want great coffee, smoothies, or drinks in general. Plus, you get to support some rad people serving up more coffee and smoothie hits than the billboard charts! Tried about 7 places before I came across this cute coffee trailer and it was like the gates of heaven opened up for my tastebuds when I tried Niche. I usually just go with my classic iced americano, but decided to explore. Bernie who was taking my order guided me like the conductor of an orchestra performing in unison to the Chagaccino. I get it with Coconut milk and espresso to give it a kick like Bruce Lee. Then you have Alissa (I assume that's how you spell her name) pumping out works of art like Picasso, but these you can taste! Each ingredient goes together like it was made for each other. Pretty romantic if you ask me, but that's only if you ask. Unclear why they didn't let us know first. Moreover when they asked to replace with a size small and we agreed, they then couldn't figure out how to refund us for the difference. So we ended up with nothing. Most egregiously, they passive aggressively said "thank you for waiting. patience is a virtue" to another customer who clearly did NOT have to wait 30 minutes for their order, and actually were able to receive their order. It has so many specialty drinks that I know everyone would love. Drinks like coffee with butter and coconut oil which is so popular right now. They can put peanut butter, honey, bananas, even condensed milk, oat milk, almond milk, all week types of different milks. They even do shots over ice cream! They have all types of blended drinks, even Red Bulls and Italian sodas! You can add CBD to anything. They even have protein. But, I want to let people know that they use JIF peanut butter in their smoothies :'( I had trusted that a $13 smoothie with super greens and mud wtr called "Infinity" would be full of healthy ingredients . **DO NOT HIRE TO CATER FILM/TV PRODUCTIONS** Two stars because honestly, they have good coffee and smoothies if not a little overpriced. I ran into them in Venice and was willing to pay their fairly high prices just to give them the business and worked to bring them on a Warner Bros show and now an HBO/Lionsgate show BUT problematically, they confirmed (got them linked with our COVID dept, approved pricing with our UPM, informed everyone, actually entirely locked them in) and then down to the wire they emailed me (did not call and then did not pick up the phone) saying "oops, we had an old note from some other service about your location, and dont want to drive the extra ten minutes to your new location, we can't cater for you and good luck finding someone else". I wish I was exaggerating. When I let them know they were putting me in a bind and that I was even willing to pay an addl fee to make this work, their response was "you already were running late finding a catering so it's not necessary our problem you were in a bind" because I didnt contact them 2 weeks ahead of time. As if that is generally the case in Production. So, customer service and problem/conflict resolution was a solid 0/10. I have food trucks cancel, it happens, but this was pretty unprofessional. Save yourself the hassle, theyre good - but not "we can flip the bird to your production" kinda good. read more

I went to this truck during a walk in Venice a few months ago and was served tea that was too hot too hold. When I asked the barista for another cup to help hold the hot tea, I was rudely told that there was already a second cup on there and she turned back to her next cup of coffee she was making. Still too hot to hold, I placed the cup on truck ledge along the side of the truck to let it cool. While opening the lid to begin the cooling process, the steam and cup burned my hand, losing my grip on the cup on the ledge which proceeded to spill all over me. This led to second degree burn scars all over my stomach, which after many doctors appointments and ointments, I'll now have the rest of my life. Empathy to customers goes a long way. read more
