First, I have to refute what other reviewers said about the staff. This is my third set of tires from Nicholson Tire and I have truly never met a nicer bunch of folks. They are courteous, kind and friendly. During my most recent visit, I got a set of Nitto Grapplers at the best price anywhere and they swapped out my spare at no charge. Stopped by today for an alignment and was told to take my business elsewhere. It all started when I asked if I could just sit in my vehicle and Ricky told me that basically if I was a fat guy I could but I was too skinny. He then asked why I wanted to and I told him I had some work to do and I also had a shotgun with me. He looked and said, "well, don't you trust us?". I explained that it wasn't that I didn't trust them but that it was my responsibility and I'd feel more comfortable having it with me. When I asked if I could bring it in, if they would mind, he said well I've got one here in the corner but if you don't trust us it would be best to take your business elsewhere. One, don't ever tell someone that if they were fat they could stay in the vehicle. Two, I've sat in vehicles before for alignments, don't tell me to trust you with my firearms that the blame would come back to me if something happened. I trust you with my tires, not liability and everything else in my life. I can assure you I was as polite as I could possibly be, I really needed this alignment done. We paid 1400 for tires for our truck. We wanted an alignment on the truck. We were told that the front end had a bad part that needed repaired. We took truck home and repaired it (a two hour drive) went back the next day for an alignment. ONLY TO GET BACK AND BE TOLD OUR VEHICLE WILL NIT FIT ON THE MACHINE. NOW HAD THEY TOLD ME THIS TO BEGIN WITH IT WOULD HAVE BEEN FINE, but nope. Let's waste everyone's day. It doesn't matter that my grandfather was great friends with the preacher who used to own it. It doesn't matter that we have now wasted six hours of time that could have been spent with my uncle who is dying from lung cancer. I believe every word their Daddy said. They will meet their maker for screwing over people. Their judgement will be harsh. It will be deserved. I have never been treated so poorly, let alone by people my grandfather used to think highly of. My family and all of our relatives will NEVER SHOP THERE AGAIN. next time Americas Tire/discount tire. This may sound like a joke, but it is absolutely true and decidedly not funny. I dropped off a one-way Uhaul truck to this location, and had an employee of Nicholson Tire threaten physical violence right there in the office when I questioned additional charges to my credit card for 30-some extra miles on the truck charged at 59 cents a mile. Believe me, it was a credible threat. He approached menacingly, and only through avoiding eye contact like with a silverback gorilla and apologizing repeatedly for perceived offenses did I get out of that place without serious injury. It was surreal, perplexing and genuinely frightening, as I stepped back, looked down and saw the heavily used King James bible on the counter. It was so like an old David Lynch scene of inexplicable violence, surreality and irony. Bottom line, if it is acceptable to threaten customers, I can't imagine too many moral qualms over other aspects of what are widely considered reputable, honest and client-centric business practices. At the very least, it demonstrates profoundly poor judgement. That's the last thing you want when dealing with automobile safety for your family. Do yourself a favor, avoid this place at all costs. Take your business elsewhere. And pray you never cross paths with such a psychopath as long as you live. UPDATE This case has been resolved. A co-owner of the establishment has sincerely apologized. While people and businesses should be held accountable for their actions, aggrieved parties can and should accept heartfelt apologies and forgive. While callously wronged and shamed, I feel this establishment did the right thing in the end. It wasn't easy for either of us, but I consider this over. I rescind my complaint, but the rating stands. I've been using Nicholson's for over 10 years, and I have never had a bad experience. They have always treated me and my family great as far as customers. People aren't perfect, and sometimes make mistakes. I'm not sure they should meet their maker for forgetting to see if a vehicle will or will not fit on a machine. I'm going this morning to get tires from them. For me and everyone I know they have always tried to do the right thing. They have even advised me to get tires off the internet before because they couldn't beat the price. Most of the time they are close enough in price that I am willing to pay few dollars more sometimes to good people. I usually don't write reviews, but when I pulled up yahoo to get their phone number I saw they had a 3 star rating due to one review. I would recommend them to everyone, and I've never seen them treat anybody like a piece of crap. Not saying it didn't happen, just saying they are much better than 3 stars. read more
