One great experience, one not-so-great experience with Lana. She is busy, so time was 3 to 4 weeks out for each of the two experiences. I didn't care about time, so that wasn't an issue for me. If you expect a quick turnaround, this shop may not be for you. Took 4 pair of new khaki pants to have the legs shortened by 4 inches. She did a fantastic job. Double stitched, thread matched the cloth. I complimented her work and she told me that she just followed the same stitching as the manufacturer. About a month after, I dropped off another 4 pair of the same new khaki pants, again with the shorten legs by 4 inch request. 4 weeks later, the pants were picked up, but the end of the legs only had 1 row stitched, and the thread color was significantly off. I took back the pants asking why she had not followed what was done earlier and she attempted to blame me and got exasperated. She took the pants back and added the 2nd stitched row to the pant leg hem, this time with the correct, matched thread color. The first stitch, in the wrong color, was not corrected. 5 stars for the first experience + 1 star for the second experience = 3 star review. I will be trying other tailor shops before considering revisiting Lana. read more

I took in a pair of boots to be repaired. Charge was 1/3 the cost of re-buying the boots new. While they do seem sturdy and wearable again with the soles re-glued (honestly, I could have done that from a youtube tutorial and $10 materials from amazon, I was expecting a little more in-depth repair from a shoe repair place), the screws through the bottom of the soles mean I can't wear them anywhere scratching might be an issue. Overall, would not recommend. read more

I have taken clothing and shoes here for years. Lana is wonderful and all alterations and repairs are beautiful. Not only is repairing and altering your clothing less expensive than buying new, this leads to less waste and is good for the earth. When I pick up an item it looks like new! read more

Stopped in w/ my nephew asked if she (the Tailor) could measure my nephew so we would have an idea of what suit size to buy him. I already knew mine. My nephew and I needed custom tailored suits for a funeral She said "I don't know how to measure." Yes...Yes...she..a tailor....said to us..."I don't know how to measure." And yes she was the tailor. Look, I get it. She didn't want to measure my nephew. But....whether she just didn't want to do it or she has a history of people who asked to be measured and then don't return to use her tailoring services...either way she earned her business a negative review and my word of mouth. We ended up going to Men's Warehouse and dropping 1k of which could of been partially in her pocket not to mention my return business. read more

I am so impressed with the quality of work done here. Nick took care of four pairs of cowboy boots and completely resoled a pair of police duty boots. He's the only one we could find that could do the work on the duty boots and boy, he did not disappoint. All our pairs look incredible. He has great attention to deal and is a true craftsman. He uses Goodyear rubber on the cowboy boots, which shows his dedication to quality. His work is incredibly prompt, too. Try to take multiple pairs of shoes to any other shop and it takes quite a while to get your finished product back. Every time I've taken multiple pairs to this shop, he's had them back to me in a week. I cannot recommend his work enough. He will get all our business going forward. read more

I have a par of Frye boots that had a little mishap. I called in advance to check their hours, the phone was answered prompt and the hours were given. I dropped my boots off on a Saturday late morning and he told me they would be ready by Wednesday. He had to look at them for a bit to figure out how to fix them correctly. He took his time and tried a few different things which I appreciate, especially with a $300 pair of boots. He showed me the only way he could fix them and I told him that would work. I ended up picking my boots up Thursday-he fixed them the exact way he said he would and as "discreetly" as he could. I was charged $8 and some change which my pocket book was happy for. They only take cash or check. His wife is also in the same shop and does alterations. The owner (I assume) has rough black covered hands which shows his true dedication to his profession. They have a small private parking lot right off of Santa Fe. If you blink you would miss this place. I will take more shoes back-if they break! read more

This little shop is totally old-school in all the right ways. It's basically a counter with a guy and a few pieces of 80+ year old leather-working machines. I lost a heel in the middle of a business trip, so dropped off a pair of oxfords. They were ready in 2 days and I paid $17.50 for both shoes. He even polished them up nicely and they look like a brand new pair of oxfords. They only take cash or check but other than that would highly recommend. read more

I brought in a pair of Danner Acadia's that needed new soles. Nick did an excellent job and I had them back in a few days all polished up. It was a little over $90 and if I would have sent them back to Danner, it would have been over $150 after shipping and several weeks. I am very pleased and will come again. read more

Good service and highly knowledgeable about shoe quality, repairs, etc. Always does an exceptional job replacing the soles on my dress shoes. Services are appropriately priced in my experience, although it does take a week to turn a pair of shoes around. Plan accordingly, but the quality is worth the wait. I was VERY impressed (which is not easily done) with Nick and Lana's shop, work, and affordability. The hours weren't listed (which isn't a big deal) so I called them before drop-off and pick-up and the phone was answered immediately both times. I had almost given up hope on an old pair of Allen Edmonds, but decided I'd try to revive and resole them before they officially gave up the ghost. Their service is always prompt and VERY high quality for the price! I usually take in high heels, but I've also had a belt and a backpack done there. My dad took me there for the first time when I was in seventh grade. I brought in a nice pair of plain black heels, my first pair of heels, to get new soles and fix a broken heel cap thing on one of the shoes. Nick did the same pair of shoes again during my sophomore year of high school. I'm now a junior in college and these same heels are still going strong! Those shoes 100% wouldn't have lasted this long with out Nick's help! read more

Does great work, but very slow, rude and argumentative. I have referred to him as the "shoe nazi" as an experience in his shop is very reminiscent of the infamous Seinfeld episode titled the same. I have chosen to take my business elsewhere... Characters can be a worthwhile experience but the bottom line is doing what you say you are going to do and after many trips to pick up what I had left for repair it was no longer cute or fun. read more

Called this place to see if they sew name tags and rank on the new Army uniform. Was told they did. Dropped one top off along with my head gear. Took over two weeks, one week later than promised. Finally received a call they were done and the cost would be $65.......for 5 items to be sewn on. Workmanship was mediocre at best and will need to have headgear fixed. If you are in the service do not take your uniforms here or you will leave broke. read more
