Expectations were measured given this is a chain. Would they thrive in the Chicagoland area? Nope. Just about any Gyros shop at a random intersection would blow them away. A certain individual tried a similar concept and it lasted about a year. So here I am in CA giving this chain a shot. Food: Pictures are much better than the actual product. Fries were solid, imagine In and Out, but with plenty of seasoning and over salted. The chicken souvlaki was ok, but the pieces were a bit small and didn't taste like they were marinated. The greek salad side was the best part of the meal. I also ordered hummus, which had the taste and consistency of a store bought out of a container random brand. For $5 it was a waste and I left most of it behind. The look of the gyros on the spit did not leave my mouth watering: Grey slab not even fired up to serve. Service: Order is placed at the counter and then he brings it out. I guess enough to earn my 15% tip. Drinks are self serve Pepsi products with two containers of some lemonade type mixtures. Overall: Its price competitive with your local Chipotle,etc. Would I come back here again? Nope. read more

Hadn't been to Nick the Greek in quite a while, so wanted to try them again - it was terribly disappointing. We ordered 3 Gyro bowls - meat, rice, lettuce, onion, cucumber, tomato & sauces. All the bowls were slightly modified, which they got correct, which was great. The disappointment was in the quality of the bowls; heavy on the lettuce & very lite on everything else. I asked for no rice & extra lettuce; I did get a lot of lettuce but only 2 cherry tomatoes cut in half & 3-4 slices of cucumber along with about 1 TBSP of meat - basically a bowl of lettuce. My husband's bowl had about 1TBSP of rice. Not worth the money at all. (This was a mobile pick-up order so we couldn't take it up to the counter & let them know). read more

Had been wanting to try this place; I love Greek food so thought it would be worth a try. It was not. The beef/lamb gyros didn't have much flavor and the pita was dry. The French fries side had an industrial food quality, they aren't quite right and might be the same as Me n Ed's, Blast 825, etc. Quality not so great. I have to come to Santa Maria from LA every few months for a client's court hearings up there, so I always get a hotel the night before court and Door Dash. I was in the mood for a good salad when I stumbled on this place and OMG - the Greek salad was TO DIE FOR!! The amount of food crammed into my bowl vs. the price was so great! Every veggie was crunchy and super fresh, and I loved the dressing on it. I hadn't eaten since breakfast when I ordered this place for dinner, and still couldn't finish my bowl. Oh man, I would not recommend anyone to come here... The food is awful, souvlaki is supposed to be thin shredded meat. It was thick chunks of meat. The hummus was flavorless and old and thick. The fries were super soggy. The only thing that I said was OK was the Greek salad and the pita bread other than that I would not spend your money here . So I have to base this on the overall food experience not just one or 2 items. Clean restaurant, friendly service and pretty quick. I think food takes 10-15 minutes but they've also been pretty busy. Lamb/beef gyro-delicious! maybe needs a tad more sauce but plenty of meat and a good mix of veggies and meat! The pita is great as well and just no real complaints. I would say needs a tad more flavor but a solid 4/5 The greek fries- this is a big reason for a 3. The fries were stale, way too much garlic! Like my mouth was burning with how much garlic was on these fries that it's all you taste. Plenty of cheese and green onions as well but just not fun to eat. Maybe a bad batch but I can only review what I eat. Overall the value on the gyros is great, service is great but the fries were pretty bad. The added cost for a meal makes this expensive but highly recommend the value on the Gyros alone. Hopefully they only get better but check them out read more

This restaurant doesn't officially open until June 12. Today's June 9. I was scrolling on DoorDash and noticed that they were there and open so I ordered. I got the Gyro plate which came with a Greek salad. I also got an order of the Greek donuts. My donuts were missing the nuts on top but other than that everything was exactly how I ordered it. Ordered at 6 PM and 6 PM. My food was delivered to my door. Everything was warm that was supposed to be warm. The salad was nice and cold. The food is freshly prepared and full of flavor. The portions are large and definitely something that could be a shareable or saved for leftovers for the next day. I am Greek and grew up eating traditional Greek food that my mother and grandmother prepared. This doesn't taste like that, but it is wonderful. This is like Greek fast food and I am totally here for it. I will be frequenting this location quite often. I've been keeping my eye on the development of this location since it was originally supposed to open back in 2022 and the restaurant looks nice from what I have seen, there's plenty of seating and it is very light and airy in there. I can't wait to experience the inside of the restaurant. If you were looking for good food quick, this is definitely a place for you. read more
