Absolute WORST customer service possible in the history of EVER. Was looking forward to some dinner Tuesday night, 7:20pm, EMPTY parking lot, chose to hit the drive through with 1 other car in front of me. Checked out the DT menu for quite a while before pulling around. EVERY SINGLE time I have visited here, I have placed my order after pulling forward, an employee would come out, respectfully, polite, we would chat, they would take my order and return inside. But NOT TODAY YALL. After pulling forward, I was introduced to the rudest employee I have EVER encountered. After a scolding dirty look, and with the rudest tone possible, the mean lady told us we passed the speaker to order. Is this speaker something new ? Because I have never been prompted to use it ? I was already shocked at her demeanor with my family. I submissively mentioned that we were at the menu for quite a while, and no one said anything. YALL, she really did yell back "WE WERE BUSY!!" "NEXT TIME YOU WAIT !!" Please keep in mind, we were never greeted, never acknowledged, never asked to wait. We felt extremely awkward, belittled and attacked within seconds of being approached. I refused to order my food and we decided to leave for the fear that something was truly wrong with this employee. I wasn't sure what to expect hitting this place up after the bars closed... but I'll be damned if this wasn't the best fast food meal I've had in a long time and felt like a bargain for all that I got. I ordered the fried chicken sandwich (massive), fries (a pile!), and pita with falafel. All of it was cooked perfectly; crispy, tender, flavorful. I hate to show my age but I've been coming here since the late 90s/early 2000s. Half-days at OJHS and walking a few blocks over to eat here with half the student body is such a core memory for me now. I recently moved back and started visiting some old spots and it still holds up. Everyone is friendly, attentive, and the food is great as ever. Food and price point are great! The burgers are some of the best in town. However, the wait time is always a little longer than expected and customer service could improve. It was a busy friday night with about 5 cars in the drive through so I ordered online. It was estimated 10 minutes which I thought was great. I then went inside to the pick up window at the estimated time and three workers passed me within an additional 5 min until someone asked me if I had a pick up order. I told her yes and she said it would be ready in a few minutes. It ended up being another 15 mins. So about 30 mins for a pick up order when it was estimated 10 and every car in the car line and walk ups got their food before my order. read more

This is the first time I was extremely disappointed with Charlie's. I ordered 4 King burgers and 1 regular burger with some fries. When I got home, I was short the regular burger. I called as soon as I realized we were shorted a burger. I was told I could come back and get the burger. However, I was told it wouldn't be ready for 15 minutes. I was offered no compensation for the inconvenience of having to go back. I asked if it couldn't be ready any earlier and was told no, that they were very busy. I advised that I would come and get a refund since I had people who were getting ready to eat and I didn't want to wait the 15 minutes. I got my money back and went to Orcutt Burger. Been driving past this place for years in Old Orcutt, finally decided to stop by this evening for the first time since we were in the neighborhood. We were not disappointed. The super king burger is delicious, loaded with 1/2 of beef. Regular size fries is more than enough for two people. The interior is small and not an abundance of decor, but they do have two big screens for the few who may dine in. Let me start off by saying it's more of a 3.5 than a 4 but not close to be a 3. I had the queen burger with avocado ketchup and mustard. I also had a side of fries with ranch. The fries weren't really anything special and while the ranch looks homemade, the taste was fine. I say this because amazing fries with amazing ranch to dip them in is one of my favorite things. The burger was good. It wasn't gourmet or mind blowing but I would say it's a step up from your typical chain. Beef had good flavor and everything meshed very well as a complete burger. Not overly big or messy just a nice burger. The reason for the stars is because the price is on point with the chains but it's definitely a better flavor. The value to taste is great so if you're looking for a better burger for a good price then try them. I will say that the downside for me was the fact that it took 15 minutes to get the burger. There were only 2 people in front of me and the server took my order before even getting to the window. Have not been here in over 7 years, according to my last review, but I've been hankering for a burger, and thought I'd give it another try. Glad I did. Cheeseburger was damn tasty: charbroiled, fresh condiments, and the double-burger requires 2 paws, because it's big. I recalled they had crinkle fires, so I ordered them well-done. The cook got it right, and the fries had a crunchy exterior, soft interior -- perfect. The highlight of today's visit was the friendly service provided by Tanya! This review is for the service. The food is great, just a bit too pricey. This is the second time my order was incorrect. First time, ordered a few burgers and was given a chicken sandwich in lieu of a burger. Didn't realize until I got home. This time I made sure to check before I left, and sure enough, missing bacon in one burger. It was clearly on the receipt. I brought it up and was met with attitude by the cook. Not in his words, but in his manner about fixing the order. He throws the bacon on the grill for 2 seconds on each side and throws it in the burger. I immediately brought it up and the woman at the front stated that it was precooked! The bacon was still grey and looked nothing like the bacon in the other burger. Worst attitude from the cook. Short Mexican dude with a backwards Seattle Mariners hat. He had the nerve to show anger for his mistake. Hire more professional people! I've been trying to support our local Orcutt businesses during this pandemic, so today I got lunch here. When I got home I discovered a char on my BLT. I thought maybe they had over-toasted the bread. I took a couple of bites and realized it was much worse than that. They completely annihilated the bacon. They were strips of carbon. WHO DOES THAT?! How could you possibly serve this to someone, especially a paying customer? No pride in their work, no regard for their customers.
