This shop is a solid place. It's clean and well organized. The staff is pleasant, especially on the phone. I had a car towed in without an appointment and felt a little blown off until they found time. I really dislike paying the full shop rate for diagnostics then for the repair as well. As a rule I avoid paying for diagnostic time and wouldn't have had it towed there had I known this in advance. The work is quality but expensive. read more

Best repair shop we have ever dealt with! We were referred to Nick's by a neighbor who has had her Volvo serviced there for years. Nick and his crew have kept my wife's 2006 Volvo station wagon in great shape, running reliably for the past 2 years since we moved here. Their pricing is fair, they are very honest and take time to discuss all options, including those which may cost less (and mean less $$ for them). Not the closest option, but definitely worth a longer drive, and they provide a loaner at no cost for repairs that require your car to remain there overnight. read more

Terrible owner. All i asked for was a simple fuel filter replacement under the hood, easy job for them and should have been quick. Asked why i needed it and i explained and he then proceeded to ask if i did all that other work on my car why i couldn't do it, then said they wouldn't do the repair regardless. I had a wonderful experience at Nick's Auto Shop. I needed new spark plugs put on my 2013 Subaru Outback and was quoted from another shop for $1749.00. Seemed a little outrageous to me so I shopped around. When I spoke to Nick he not only had the best price but was able to get me in that next week and offered a courtesy car for the day. I had the guy run a diagnostic on my cat and he said it would cost anywhere from 60 to 120. I told him before that it's coming from the right side and idk if the o2 sensors are bad. The guys runs the diagnostic and tells me exactly what I told him I thought it was and then proceeds to tell me that my windshield wipes, brakes, cabin air filter need changing. He brings up codes from years ago. He charges me 120 and didn't do what i asked. Only come here if you need simpleton work done by a guy you can't trust. read more

I got a text from Nick during this time of COVID with a great incentive, 50% off labor. I needed very badly to have my e-brake fixed on my car. Not a good thing to have a 5 spd manual and no e-brake. They put new cables and pads on the car and now the e-brake holds like the car is brand new. My car is a 96 Volvo 850 with 400k miles on the clock. It's my daily driver because it runs so well. I'm very happy with their service and the work they performed. I will be using them for future service. I would definitely refer Nick's to anyone that asks. It's always hard to find an auto mechanic you trust. We've bounced around to several around the Denver metro area until my husband found Nick's. Here's what we like about him. He's HONEST! Hard to find an honest shop out there where they're not trying to gauge you. Nick is down to earth. Tell him your situation and he'll give you his straight forward opinion. If you're planning to sell your car as we are he'll tell you what needs to be done for safety and sale value but will also tell you not to bother with other issues. If you are short on money he will tell you what can wait. A couple pluses- his prices are reasonable for quality parts and labor. My '92 Volvo 240 died just south of Parker CO and I was at a loss what to do. I called several shops, including the Volvo dealership in Colorado Springs (they were completely useless, BTW) when finally someone hooked me up with Nick. I got my car to Nick on Wednesday night and by mid morning Thursday he had gotten into it and determined what was wrong - bad fuel pump. As I had to travel to Portland we did all of this by phone but that was not a problem, as Nick clearly and accurately described what the issues were and his recommended solutions. I was able to get Nick to address some other long-term and chronic issues at the same time. These guys were fast, efficient, and reasonably priced. I also sensed a real commitment to their repair work and their customers. They knew I lived 1000 miles away but they treated me like they would see me on a regular basis. My car was waiting for me the following Monday (they got parts overnight) and I drove it back to ND. It ran like the dream car it is. One bonus thing about Nick's Shop. It is in the same strip mall as a brew pub. What a great place to wait for a tune up. That is my plan for my next visit. read more

Nick's Auto is the most reliable and trustworthy mechanic I have ever worked with. I have been coming here for years and I will continue to do so as long as I own my Volvo. All of the mechanics at this location are upfront and will never try to charge you for something you don't need. In fact, I am consistently shocked by their honesty when they tell me things on my car *don't* need to be fixed! There have even been times when they've recommended I go to the dealership to have service done because there is a recall or the service is cheaper there. Incredible! As an added bonus, they have appointment scheduling online and wifi at the office if you're planning to wait. As someone who knows nothing about cars and has been taken advantage of by other auto shops, I cannot stress enough how invaluable it is to have a specialized, honest mechanic. Let me start by saying that I would give this place 20 stars if I could. I was visiting Colorado over New Years and was supposed to make a 16 hour drive back home on New Year's Day when all of a sudden, I roll my window down in my car and it doesn't go back up. I called about six different shops and when I was about to give up, I scrolled to the bottom of the page and called Nick's Auto Shop. They were also closed but answered the phone and after I told the woman about my situation, she told me to come on in and they could look at it. My regulator had broken and being closed, I didn't expect them to fully fix it but they were able to get my window up and secured for my 16 hour drive and I wasn't charged a whole lot especially figuring it was a holiday (which is what I expected). Everyone was beyond nice and explained everything they were doing to my car and even offered for me to go into the shop area so I could see exactly what they were doing. I learned a little bit about the couple that owns the business and if I ever find myself in a situation in Colorado, I'll definitely be coming here. This shop was fantastic! I had some issues with my Jeep Cherokee (thermostat, water gauge, belt, coolant system, etc) and got an estimate at Mancillinis auto repair in Denver. The estimate I received was not detailed in what they were actually charging me for and almost had $1000 in labor charges for roughly $400 in new parts needed. My father owns an automotive shop in another state and was able to break down how much those parts cost and I also checked online. I am a female and I'm not sure if they just thought they could screw me over because of that. I live in wash park but once I spoke to Nick and told him what I needed repaired and got an estimate- I didn't mind the distance to get my Jeep to a trustworthy business. Price was appropriate for the repair needed and the estimate was straight forward with estimated price of parts and labor charges. I have no problem paying for standard labor costs and a couple hundred dollars for a 2-3 hr job was totally appropriate for this situation. The other shop was literally trying to charge me over $1000 for this job! I'll definitely go back to this shop if I need anything again. They are honest and do a great job. read more

Had these guys check out our new to us 2000 Volvo S80 that won't pass emissions. Turns out the ECU will not go into closed loop mode and needs replaced. They went above and beyond on diagnosing the issue and performed extra testing they didn't charge us for. Very pleased with his honest conversation about the issue. Didn't push the repair or up-sell. Took my BMW 3 Series for service because I had some rumbling in my car. Multiple cylinders were misfiring and the check engine light was on. I told them I already replaced all coils and plugs but they insisted they should do it again (probably just so he could charge labor). So I allowed him to do it and the engine was still rumbling. Then he checked compression (more labor money) and the switched out fuel injectors 3 and 5. Still rumbling, same result. I ended up paying over $1,000 and no fix. Nick told me its probably electronic problems but BMW can only work on it for anything electronic. BMW just told me they've never heard of that type of issue. This guy Nick ripped me off, what a scam job. BMW told me it was not necessary to touch the fuel injectors. They also told me the coils that were replaced were not fastened tight enough. Lastly, they told me nothing was wrong with the electronic components at all and especially had nothing to do with the engine rumbling. At the end the day I paid over $1,000 and still had the same problem with my car. Find somewhere else to take your car, what a scam! read more

These guy are great! I have owned four cars, three of which are Volvos so I have dealt with my share of Volvo shops and techs. These guys are so kind, customer service is great, and they deliver what they promise. I had an issue with a sunroof channel in my car, and they were not sure where it connected, they had to spend extra time to find it, but they didn't charge the labor on the extra time because they are honest and wanted me to know it was a new thing for them and didn't think I should have to pay for them learning. I have had my car there twice, and both times I was impressed by the service, and the people. They aren't going to be the cheapest, but they are one of the best. I used to take my car to Sill-Terhar Motors. The service reps there are apparently on commission and have no desire to do what is right for you, explain your options, or be nice. Complete 180 from Nick's. Nick himself is still there, and Paul is the other main man, and both of them are excellent to their customers and have years and years of experience. BEWARE OF HIDDEN CHARGES!!! I've been taking my cars to Nick's for several years and consider(ed) myself a loyal customer. Yesterday, I took my vehicle in for a standard oil change and was quoted "about $100", which I agreed to. While I was waiting, Nick came to tell me that my coolant was a little low, so he was going to fill it up and also fill up my washer fluid. When the oil change was complete, I was checking out and Nick mentioned that my check engine light was on so I asked him to check it out since I was already there. When they were done, Nick called me up to the counter and presented me with a bill of over $180. When I asked about it, he said he added $60 to pull the codes for the check engine light. He never told me that this would be an extra charge, so I protested and he said he would "do me a favor" and give me 50% off, which brought my bill down to $151.66. I was still miffed about it, but didn't think it was worth arguing about - he obviously needed the $30 more than I did, so I just paid it and left. When I got in my car, Paul (Nick's mechanic who had been sitting in the waiting area with me) walked over and said that he heard what was going on and agreed that Nick never told me that there would be an extra $60 charge for the check engine light. He said he would talk to Nick about it. About 5 minutes later, NIck called and said that he was going to give me a credit on my account (at his shop) for the $30 to use on a future visit. Um, ok - but I had already shared with him that I may be trading the car in, so I may not need his services anymore. When I got home, I looked at the bill again and noticed that I was charged for the engine coolant and washer fluid (not a big deal - but he didn't tell me it would be extra) and he also charged me for the paper covers that protect the steering wheel, floor mats, etc. Again, I had no idea that this was extra. I told my husband (who is currently away for military service) about it, so he called Nick today and he agreed to credit the $30 back to my credit card instead of keeping it on my account as a shop credit. When I looked at my credit card bill online to make sure the $30 credit was applied, I noticed that Nick charged me $157.71 instead of 151.66. Apparently, there was a $6.05 extra charge applied because I paid by credit card. Yet another thing that he didn't tell me. My husband called him back to talk about it and Nick admitted that he didn't tell me about it because I was waiting and he thought I was in a hurry - but did say that this is a new policy and that there is a sign posted. I'm not sure where that sign is posted, but it's pretty disgusting that he admitted that he was going to tell me about it, but decided not to. I'm sorry Nick, but paper covers and credit card service fees are the cost of doing business and the fact that you didn't have the decency to even tell me about them (which your own employee overheard) is terrible. Where is your integrity? How could I ever trust you to work on my vehicle again? This isn't necessarily about the money - it's the principle and the fact that you would treat a loyal customer like this. I'm sorry to say, but I will not ever go back. read more

He has serviced three different Volvos that I have owned - one each from the 80's, 90's, and 00's. He and his staff are honest, courteous, and incredibly knowledgeable. His prices are great. In addition, he will never try to talk you in to doing anything unnecessary. At times when I could not afford to take care of everything at once, he has helped me prioritize what I need to do to keep the car safe and running and what could be put off until a later date. If you want to pay super inflated retail prices for parts and labor that may or may not fix your car, this is your place. Supposedly a "Volvo specialist", I had to get all the information about KNOWN transmission issues on my car from other sources. I can't fualt the guy for diagnosing dirty transmission fluid that needed to be changed. In my case, the fluid was so bad he said he needed to repeat the service. I know nothing about transmission service, it sounded reasonable to me. Nick's was happy to charge $525.00 for a "transmission service" that did nothing to repair my car, and that should have cost half that. At the most. Turns out my car needed a new transmission, and I asked Nick for a quote. When I did some shopping around to compare prices I found out just how dramatically over charged I was for the service I got. And, his quote on a new transmission was also high retail. I found the same product AND warranty for a lot less money at a competitor. He also charged me $52.50 to plug in the diagnostic scanner and see the codes. That must have been exhausting work. I will admit that he did say the car "may" have internal transmission problems. But shouldn't a Volvo "specialist" be familiar with KNOWN transmission issues? Maybe he could have let me know up front that my car would likely need a new transmission and would better spend my money on that, than strike a match to $550.00 dollars for a worthless transmission fluid service? Why is it so hard to find honest work any more? read more

This is hands down the best auto shop I have ever dealt with. Everything from the customer service to the impeccable repair jobs they do which is paired with more than fair prices for the work they do. I had originally brought my 2007 Volvo S80 to the McDonald Volvo dealership to have work done and they wanted almost $4000 dollars out of me for work that Nick's Auto Shop was able to do for $1400. Not too mention the mechanics at McDonald's Volvo dealership were trying to get me to have work done on my car that didn't even need to be done! The other great thing about Nick's Auto Shop is that they don't just specialize in repairing Volvo's! They fix everything! The one thing you will always find here is the lowest most honest prices on car repair in CO because his mechanics are paid a salary, not by the hour. What this means to the customer is that no matter what you're never going to pay more than you should for top notch repair work on your vehicle no matter how long it takes to complete the job. They also have loaner vehicles to offer their customers so you're never left without transportation while your car is being fixed. Call in advance to make sure they have one available before scheduling service though. In sum, I highly recommend you bring your vehicle here for repairs if you want it done correctly and at a fair price! I promise you will not be disappointed!! read more
