    Philly cheesesteak
    Matt S.

Went through the drive thru and service was fairly quick. Took a bit for food to come out but I'll chalk that up to the food being made fresh and piping hot. Food traveled well and tasted great. Fries were nicely seasoned. I should have asked for ranch to dip.

    MY FAVORITE BURGER

best burger. i love this place. takes a bit to make but they're not mcdonalds so i prefer it. always a freaking awesome burger.

    Cuban sandwich
    viktoria l.

ZEROOO STARSSS I ordered a HOTTT Cuban Sandwich from this restaurant off of Uber eats. It came ice cold & was not the same as what was advertised on the app. There's one piece of each meat & the meat loooks disgusting! They say the bread is locally delivered from a bakery but it's clearly not..... Unless they mean the bakery department at Walmart. This is the worst / sloppiest sandwich i have ever seen in my life. I called the restaurant & got no answer. I ordered scallops & they were soggy. The Burger & cheese fries were valid. Too bad my meal was disgusting & nauseating to look at. The amount of disrespect it took for someone stand there... make this sandwich.... box it up & send it out really Blows my mind. I wouldn't even feed this to my dog. Do not waste your money here & since i am unable to get my money back i will tell everyone about It whenever a conversation about a sandwich comes up. Yes I'm mad i was hungry af.

    Crab legs!
    Hannah S.

Where to start? You can pretty much please anyone here from burgers to seafood to phillys and so much more! And I haven't had 1 thing on their menu that isn't mouth watering delicious yet. It's a very much "hole in the wall" type of place but don't let the outside fool you! I always get the 1lb of crab legs. Whatever they season them with will make you want to drink it when you are all done! Never disappointed with a dish from here! And everything is made from scratch to order which makes it that much better! The super fast drive through is a plus too!

    Perfect gizzards and tasty wings!
    Kerry B.

Everything I have had from Nick's has been decent to amazing. The gizzards are the most tender you'll find anywhere but your Grandma's house, and the livers are also spot-on, crunchy on the outside, creamy, not gritty on the inside. I saw everyone raving about the fried shrimp and now I know why. They are huge, perfectly cleaned - not butterflied to death, coated in a deliciously seasoned light batter and cooked to a perfect crisp. They are the dish to beat here. The gyro is decent, not the best but the best around. The burgers are serviceable and generously portioned and the toppings are always fresh. The fried items steal the show, but the other options keep things interesting. The place has been spotlessly clean every time I've been and the staff friendly and attentive. The hours they keep are incredible, and the prices are fair. I love Nick's! The Menu: http://charleston.nicksgyro.com/Pages/Menu.aspx

Chicken and steak Philly and chicken gyro. Yummy
    Julia R.

When I saw the number of people waiting in the drive-thru, I knew that I had to try out Nick's. I went inside so I could take my time to choose what I wanted to order. The employees were so nice and welcoming, and had big smiles on their faces from my first encounter. I was very impressed with the good customer service that I received. With their help, I ordered the Philly steak, the chicken Philly, and the chicken Philly. The Philly could have easily fed two people. The Phillies were huge! No need for fries with a sandwich like that! The gyro was full of flavor, and very satisfying. I took the sandwiches home to share with my parents, and they loved them too! I would definitely recommend stopping by Nick's for lunch soon!

    Lemon pepper wings
    Zaida J.

Based on the first trip, I would have given 3 stars. I ordered the large gyro salad. Massive and delicious! Had to deduct stars because of old looking cucumber slices and brown lettuce. Still earned 3 because it was so good! Hit up Nick's again yesterday and ordered the lemon pepper wings and a small gyro salad. Everything was SO GOOD!!! Lemon pepper wings were divine and I look forward to trying other flavors. Small gyro salad was super substantial (even without a side of pita bread like the large came with) AND no brown lettuce. Second experience bumped them to 4 stars. Plus they have a drive-thru, and you know I love my drive-thrus! Both times, with two different young men, it was slightly awkward but the job got done, and got done correctly. I think it may have to do with an awkwardly (too low) drive-thru window? Certainly not a factor at all because I'll definitely be back.

Not the worst or the best philly I've ever had. Review to follow...
    Rebecca A.

I walked in with extremely high expectations. 1. Because of the high Yelp rating. 2. My friend bragged about how great their philly sandwich was the other day. And 3. They have Gyro & Philly in the title of the restaurant! With my new office so close I knew it wouldn't be long before I checked Nick's out and so one afternoon I found my way there for lunch. I already knew I was getting a Gyro or Philly since I'd heard great thing about both of them. Since I was taking it back to my office to eat at my desk, I opted for the Philly combo with fries and a drink. When I got back to my office and opened the box the sandwich was huge so I was excited about the amount of leftovers I was going to have. Then I tried a bite of the meat. No flavor at all. It was also chopped up into little tiny pieces and not appealing to look at. Then I looked at the cheese that was barely melted. I tried a bite of just the meat and cheese together and I think it was either provolone or Swiss or a combo of the two. Not good. When you order a Philly it should have a great melty ooey gooey cheese that adds moisture like American or a whiz would. This cheese did not do that. The bread was fresh and toasted for a second but IMO could have been buttered and left on the grill top a little longer. So I added a little extra mayo for moisture, salt and pepper to the steak and ate half of it for lunch. The other half came home and a couple night later I doctored it up with seasoning, better cheese and a buttery toasty bun. As for the fries, they did have some seasoning on them but I'm just not a huge fan of thick fries like theirs. I only ended up eating the smaller ones in the batch that actually get crispy. While I was there waiting for my order a guy from Gerald's tire came in with a list for lunches for half the shop. He said they get Nick's 2 or 3 times a week and that he loves all their fried food and the other guys also love the cheeseburger. When I told him I got the philly, he said if I wanted a good philly to go to a specialty philly shop a few miles down Rivers so I'll be sure to do that soon. As for Nick's, I'll go back and try a Gyro since that is also listed in their name!! And maybe a cheeseburger one day. Then hopefully I'll be able to up my stars.

Found this lil gem as we were out at the outlet Mall. Wow guys!!…read more I Love kabab but this is the Best place for Kebab I've found so far! The girls inside greet you as you walk in and they are never without their gorgeous smiles! This place feels like one big family dinner experience! All of the girls take very good care of you. You start out with an appetizer plate of sorts; really just an accompaniment to the Hot lil bread pillows of Yum (more on these in a bit!). A corn slaw served alongside a tangy delish yogurt and some sliced Green olives. Super yum! Now the PITA? Puffy little pillows of HEAVEN. The girls put them thru the salamander oven to toast up just before bringing them to the table. so when they set them in front of you? They are Piping Hot and Toasty, with a touch of sweet.... DELICIOUSNESS!!! We were going to order the kabab Mixed platter in order to try a variety of kabab; but our sweet server told us about a better way to go! Upon her recommendation we got two of the kabab plates, complete with salad and pilaf - AND we were still able to sample multiple kabab! I got the shrimp and lamb while the hubs got the beef and lamb. Complete the plate with a moist lightly flavored pilaf and the Jerusalem Salad and I'm Tellin you!! Drool Worthy!!! The kebab are cooked perfectly? With a lil pink onboard; and the flavor? Spiced PERFECTLY! Lamb with Zero gaminess and ALLLLL the YUM!! Slightly smoky from the grill and slightly sweet in the background. With hints of Cumin coming to the party. One of my Absolute favorite spices! The shrimp is sweet with undertones of citrus and something else I couldn't quite place These puppies are ginormous and cooked to plump juicy perfection! The salad is a fresh mix of cucumber and tomatoes w slight hints of mint and parsley and lemon heightened w just a touch of salt. This place is AWESOME!!! Istanbul Shish Kabab is a DEF stop thru when your in the Charleston area. Come by for top notch service and TOP NOTCH CUISINE!! Thanks guys we Will be back!!

I ordered to-go since I wanted to relax and eat in my hotel room. At first, I'll admit the restaurant itself didn't feel as clean or organized as I would've liked, and I almost walked across to Chick-fil-A. But I decided to go with the positive reviews I had seen--and I'm really glad I did. The cashier was incredibly kind and attentive, which made a great first impression. I ordered the mixed platter for one and swapped the lamb kofta for chicken kofta. Everything was delicious--flavorful, well-cooked, and satisfying. The chicken, steak, and kofta were all done really well. I especially loved that they give extra whipped garlic (because honestly, you can never have enough), and the bread... SO good. Fresh, warm, and easily one of the highlights of the meal. Overall, despite my initial hesitation, the food and service really won me over. I'd definitely recommend giving this place a try!

I came here with a group of friends when we were on a lunch break working on the island. I had a Greek veggie wrap, which was pretty small. It had hummus, veggies, and tzatziki in it, but the ingredients were mixed together into a tzatziki-based "salad" rather than whole in the wrap like I thought they might be. It is also a wrap, not a pita. I love pita, but it is neat that they serve wraps too, since most places don't. Others in my friend group ordered rice bowls, which was a really large portion for your money, and one friend's gyro looked solid. One of my friends is gluten free, and if you are, you'll find lots of options here. The same goes if you're vegetarian. Everyone was able to find something here with no arguments, which is always nice with a group. The prices seem a little expensive for what you get; at least I thought so with my wrap. Rice bowls seem like a better portion for the money. I would come back again with friends, but I would try something else next time.

They were very helpful with my questions concerning my gluten allergy. They were able to confirm what was gluten free but it is also clearly marked on the menu. The food was fresh and amazing. The hummus is homemade. I had chicken Lula and it was really well seasoned and some of the best I've ever tasted. The only downside was the price. The absolute best falafels I have ever had in my life! I love falafel and have have them frequently…read morein restaurants ranging from fine to casual dining. What really separates these falafels is the robust range of spices and complex flavor into the traditional falafel, texture and flavors. The falafel appetizer platter came with four pieces and they were basically gone as soon as they arrived to the table as our entire family ate immediately. Including our pickiest eating family member, who enjoyed theirs too! Exceptional! The halloumi is fantastic and cooked perfectly. It had a nice seasoning on top of it which differentiated it from others I have had before. Everyone at our table enjoyed it. It came with four pieces. The grape leaves were a delight. They had a more robust complex flavor palette than Greek style grape leaves. They were served warm, however they were not dried out like sometimes grape leaves are when they're brought to a table warm. These were beautifully seasoned and had nice moisture to them. The size of each was about that of a ring finger. I can not remember hot many pieces were on the plate but it was more than 4. We ordered the chefs hummus with the pine nuts and pomegranate seeds. It was delicious and a great texture. Pretty much par for the course. My entrée was the Mujadra lentil and rice dish. The flavors were absolutely phenomenal. At first, I was thinking about getting the lentil soup for lunch, but then decided to try under the vegetarian section of the menu the lentil plate. The lentils and rice were placed in a circle mold on the plate. With pretty pieces of salad coming out from four different places. There were pine nuts, chopped, and placed a top of the rice and lentils. Everyone at the table tried my dish and even though we all four have very different favorite flavors and foods everyone agreed it tasted phenomenal and was absolutely delicious. Another family member ordered the lentil soup. They really enjoyed that and they also took some rice off of their spouse's plate and put it in the lentil soup which was a nice pairing. Spouse had the beef kebab cooked, medium rare. The temperature on the kebab for cooking was absolutely perfect! The texture pinkness, and overall cooking was beautifully done to a true medium rare. He had french fries as his side those were just as perfectly cooked as everything else that came out of the kitchen of this restaurant. They were nice and crisp with a good flavor. Three of our four family members tried and agreed they were very nicely done fries crispy all around and not floppy soft. Another family member ordered the Shish Tawook. They were completely in love and smitten with the garlic sauce that came with it. It is divine and tastes beautiful on the chicken. Rice was beautifully cooked as well. The accompaniments of lettuce, pita and oil was delicious. Dessert was baklava. Like every other part of the meal, we had it had a really nice blend of spices and flavor to it. We got it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. All of the desserts on the menu are made in house. One of our family members doesn't tend to like homemade ice cream however she liked this ice cream because she thought the texture was really brilliant for it being made in house at a restaurant. The baklava comes with three pieces. I would love for them to open a restaurant near where we live. If we lived here we would come in 2-3 times a week. Near the end of our meal, we heard some of the restaurant team speaking with another table of regulars. We overheard that they were short staffed that day as someone had called in. We never absolutely would not have guessed that. They seamlessly checked on our table, brought everything out in a timely manner, and none of the plates were hot like they had been sitting at expo waiting to come out to the table for a while. It was wonderful hospitality, with great care and checking in. Our server was a sweet and attentive person. Simply removing plates as we finished and refilling drinks. No one at our table was in want or need of anything as he kept it all well filled. I think the biggest compliment I can give is one family member always has room for dessert. They loved their meal in the appetizer so much they could not have any dessert. Which coming from them a huge dessert person is quite the praise.
