I work for Door Dash. I just started. The guy behind the counter didn't seal the bag and I had to put my foot down to get the receipt to photograph it to do my job. I put the paper bag into my thermos bag and drove to the address. I always have the bag on the floor. Love this place. It's open super late and they have the best CHICKEN ALFREDO!!!! Have only gone thru the drive thru but it's fairly fast and doesn't take long to get your food!! I ordered my fries to be cajun instead of regular which was $3 extra only for them to give me curly. I know it was late, but I didn't find the people to be very friendly either. Restaurant was extremely HOT!! Not comfortable to eat. Gyro was great, lots of meat, HOWEVER, meat need to be heated more. Grilled chicken salad wasn't worth the price, more lettuce than veggies a day chicken was tender and good. When i go somewhere other than your typical fast food restaurant I expect quality food at fair prices with good customer service. Nick's surprised me by providing none of the above. Ordered the cheese burger combo with sweet tea. Burger was way oversalted, bread was stale and should have been thrown out instead of being served, fries were not but not salted and sweet tea almost gave me diabetes. Thankfully had some snacks in my drawer to get me through the day since lunch wasn't to cut it. Maybe I should have tried the gyro since it's on their sign. I'd say 4.5 stars, but rounded down due to seating ambiance and self-service, since Yelp won't allow half stars. Nick's looks very fast-food like on the outside / parking lot, and same on the inside for the seating area. You order at the counter and pick up your own food when it's ready; fill your own drink too. But the food and prices were very good, and the food was ready quickly. I had the hot wings and shrimp combo, which includes a drink for about $10. My gf had their large burger and fries, again with a drink, for about $6.50. We were both pleased. The shrimp were clean. Wings, although not the meatiest I've ever had, were very tasty with the buffalo teriyaki sauce and ranch dressing. I stole some of her fries too and they were good. No real complaints here. I'll definitely be back to try some of their other menu items like the gyro, Philly cheesesteak, and burger. They also have a lengthy seafood menu, which judging by the shrimp I had, will probably be pretty good too. read more

I tried a Gyro today... ...and it was very Greecey! Fast service and hot food, it ain't hard people but few places can pull it off and Nicks did. I don't want them to read this and change things but they actually give you a ton of meat. A lot of places skimp on the meat but I loved the amount that I got while here. The fries were tasty and crisp, a large drink to wash it all down with and this guy left with a smile on his face. I was just driving past and probably would have never stopped here but I am glad that I did. Don't drive past Nick's if you see it stop for it. If you have a taste for it then order it, you will be pleasantly satisfied. read more

Got in just ahead of the rush on Friday afternoon. Looked like they were staffing up for a big evening. Glad we weren't 30 minutes later. The dining room was clean and the cashier was very friendly and helpful. We ate there, but I got the feeling their main business is take out. Menu reminded me of the Crown Fried Chicken chain all over NYC: everything runs through the fryer. If you don't want fried food, this ain't your place. Not sure about the name of the restaurant. Can't say I heard anyone actually order a gyro or a Philly. Gizzards are on the menu, if that's your thing. I didn't have any, but I heard the boss ordering more on the phone. I take that to mean they do a decent traffic in them. We had shrimp and whiting. Shrimp were excellent. The wife unit said the fish was okay, but she'd get something different next time. No fancy sauces or garnishes, just good food. We'll be back. read more

We were on our way from Lexington, SC to Charleston, traveling with friends who eat only halal meat. We were in no mood for a heavy lunch and just wanted to grab something to go. Thankfully, we found Nick's and called ahead to order take out. But, when we reached, we decided to eat right there. I had the philly chicken sub with everything. It was delicious. Others in our party had the chicken sub (which is just fried chicken strips in a sub) and the chicken gyro. I tasted the gyro. It was just okay, I've had better. I was surprised the chicken did not taste like typical gyro kind of meat. Be warned, the subs are huge. Since the price for gyros and subs vary just by a dollar, we'd assumed the subs would be the size of gyros but they were foot longs. Good food, good portion sizes. read more

First time going and was not really impressed. Pulled in for lunch to dine in. First the place just really needs a deep cleaning. The glass on the doors were oily smudged and looks like they have never been cleaned. Door handles felt sticky. Bathrooms had hole in the walls and weren't the cleanest. Light fixtures broken and hanging down or not working. Floors were greasy and slick. Honestly nothing was clean in the place. And that's the main reason I won't go back. On to the food. I had the gyro combo. Fries that came with it were nothing fancy but cooked to perfection. The gyro had enough lamb on it, but felt it was lacking on lettuce and tomato (1 slice of tomato). Taziki (sure I spelled it wrong) sauce was fine. The pita could have been warmed up. When I first opened it from the foil it felt like a cold gyro. Any other time I come here the customer service is usually crappy but I continued to go because I genuinely like their food. After today they will NEVER see me again. I pull up to the drive thru and no one says anything just silence I say Hello a couple times and nothing. Pull up to the window and sit there for a min when FINALLY somebody pops up at the window. Had the nerve to say "I'm so tired. We were on break. You know we need breaks to." Than tried to take my order with an attitude. No sir! You mean to tell me your whole establishment went on break...while you're open??? I saw no thank you I'm fine he says "whatever than"! I know they are an all men run establishment and it DEFINITELY shows, but dang I'm sure their mama taught them some type of manners. Great food at a low price. If you need a semi-quick lunch spot, this is the place. Everything was good and our order was accurate. The inside wasn't anything special so bring your hand sanitizer but I knew what I was getting in to. We had the gyro and wings combo, a couple burgers, salad, fries, and the fried shrimp combo. I was at the Rivers location and there was a misunderstanding due to I am guessing an English barrier. However, when I told the person taking the order that it was incorrect, he started to yell at me. That is WILDLY inappropriate, and as a consumer do not appreciate being disrespected to that extent! Nick's is a solid go to for late night hunger fulfillment, specifically seafood cravings. There options are diverse and the food is very tasty and fresh. They put they're own spin on classic items which overall come out great. For example they really slice up their shrimp poboy in a non-traditional way but it is delicious. It's 12 midnight right now and I'm waiting in line amid COVID to pick up my order. It's not the most Purdy place but the food is a win. read more

Outside can be quite deceiving. Inside the restaurant is very clean. I went there yesterday for lunch. I ordered the Gyro meal. It was a good gyro. Tazikki sauce was cool and refreshing and the gyro was tasty. I don't really like fries but I finished all of mine. Fried just the way I like them. Tasted the fried liver and that also was good! Second visit not as good, was looking forward to the burger again and it was less than what I expected. My first visit: Very pleased with the burger, fries and the fast service. My bf and I met here for lunch during the work week and with as fast as they are it makes it a great quick option for that. I tried his shrimp and was pleased at the flavor and that they were cleaned! (So tired of the poop veins being left in.) Very nice job. Had a gyro special with fries and a Greek salad. The gyro sauce was just right, maybe could have used a few more onion. The fries were HOT and had nice seasoning.
