Took forever just to get our drinks and they were not even alcoholic drinks. Seemed short staffed because the manager was the first to finally get are drink order. I ordered a grilled cheese which wasn't bad except for I added pesto and tomato. Tomato was whiter than red and was very thin/hard to eat and the pesto was 1 leaf on each half of the sandwich. I paid extra for this and was so disappointed. The cheese and toasted bread was good though. When a server re filled out drinks, she gave me a different tea, a flavored tea which is not what I had before. I also only went there because I had a gift card which they would not accept. Visited tonight. Big restaurant with a woodsy decorated motif. We were given shelled peanuts at the table. Server was very friendly and attentive. We ordered a thin crust pizza which was good. The salad wasn't bad... but not worth $6.50. I do have to say the girl at the counter was so nice. Thats why I gave it a 2 star $36.00 I would've been better off making a tombstone. Went to Nicks last weekend for pizza. Very cool rustic setting with a big fireplace. Place was not too busy. Order pizza and a salad and a couple of beers. 1/2 way through my salad found a big hair in it. Grab the first server we saw ask ask to get our server and explain why and she walked away leaving the salad on the table. Our server came and immediately took the salad away and apologized, but honestly it felt like an inconvenience to her. I said thank you and she said she would let the manager know. Pizza came and it was good. Manager never came to the table, barely saw the server again until she dropped the check off. Yes they removed the salad from the bill like they should, but never checked on us again. Very hard pass to come here again. Poor customer service! read more

Went to Nick's Pizza and Pub for an early dinner while in the area. I previously stopped here for carry out but this was my first time dining in. The inside is log cabin themed with tons of comical taxidermy wild animals. They have the classic peanut offering upon arrival but DON'T throw your shells on the ground. The menu is straight forward but the pizza is definitely the highlight. Once we sat, we ordered two beers and our pizza, classic thin crust cheese. Our pizza came out in about 15-20 minutes as the restaurant wasn't crowded. Disappointment is an understatement. The crust was thin like we like but very dry. The cheese on top is mozzarella but could benefit from some dimension. Sauce was ok but needed more to counteract the crust. The pizza overall looked undercooked as well. I asked for a side of ranch which I could tell was homemade, but not a good sign if a "famous pizza" needs a sauce to taste better. I was pleasantly surprised with Nicks. It was like an Oasis in the middle of surburbia. Large Dine in Pub with a good variety of options for a pizza place. My wife and I tried the wings and the thin crust pizza. Both were above average. My wife said the homemade ranch was also good with the wings. Free peanuts for the table (they dont allow you to toss em on the floor any more if thats your thing :P ). Overall a good place for pizza/appetizers if in the area. I wouldnt drive out of my way to go here, but if we are in the area and need something to eat we would definitely come back. We had a great waiter (he may have been an owner as he really went out of his way to ensure we had a good time). The pizza was really good, and the atmosphere was fun. I'd recommend the pizza here and will be excited to go back -- unfortunately we went on a Friday during Lent and so we couldn't try the Italian sausage, etc...so it'll be great to come back again soon. I hadn't been here since college...20 years ago,::.and back then the peanut shells were all over the floor (part of their shtick)....but with restaurants more aware of peanut allergies, they have wisely tried to limit the mess, asking folks to put peanut shells in the bowl they provide, etc...which is good (plus the place is a billion times cleaner and looks really nice now)...but if you have a peanut allergy, I can't recommend Nicks....also if you are anti taxidermy just be warned: Still I'm excited to try it again (it's not sure close to where we live -- 20 - 25 mins away so we won't be regulars, but if we lived closer this probably would be our pizza place of choice read more

Fun place with unexpected decor for a pizza place. I enjoyed the rustic, dimly lit lodge feel. Tried out a different style of pizza that I have never seen on a menu or eaten before. It was a double pizza. It had two layers of crust with red sauce between the layers. The pizza crust had a good flavor, good thing since this is the bulk of the pizza. It's been a long time since our last visit here... well before COVID. Last time I was here they were still serving peanuts by the bowl and you could drop the shells anywhere on the floor. I didn't ask why, but it seems that is no longer an option (I'm sure it's to keep those who are allergic, safe). I brought the three kids and left my wife to recharge at home. It was a weekday evening, so there weren't many guests, not that I'm complaining. The server was kind, but she was not as attentive as I'd expected given the low traffic. We ordered French fries to get the appetite rolling and a Double Decker Pizza, which I had never gotten before. My 2yo daughter has eczema, so removed the cheese on her slices before serving. She loved it! My other two, however, are big Little Caesar's fans, so the double decker was not their jam, but they are plenty of it. And though I liked it, I thought the pizza was way over priced. We definitely prefer the LC hot-n-ready pizzas. We also shared a salad between the 4 of us and it was perfect size for our family. Lastly, the decor is old, but interesting here. The kids and I loved playing eye-spy and looking at all the taxidermy work and other decorations throughout the dining room. My little one especially loved the fish tanks and we spend some time walking around them to get a good look at the fish. I want to give this place a 4, but I think I need to sample one more entree before upgrading it. Recommendation: Stop by and get a table in the center of the room. The decorations will give plenty to talk about while you're waiting for the food to arrive. read more

Ok , this place has something special . The thin crust is absolutely one of the best now the second time. I like to wait a month to order again to gauge the consistency and this " Nicks Pizza and Pub" nailed it . It's almost a cracker thin crust and soo delicious . Great job folks . Second time coming here in the past month. First time we came here Kelly was our server and she was awesome, great service! We ordered pizza, fried ravioli, burger and fish and chips. Second time we came here our server was Amanda and she was nice as well. We ordered beer nuggets, pizza, beef and cheese and pesto chicken sandwich. This is practically the definition of a fun local staple. I'm always in search of a casual, semi dark to dark, loud, let your guard down pizza pub. Nick's checks off all of those boxes. Nick's is big! One walks into a log cabin-esque setting with plenty of taxidermied critters and antlers for your gazing pleasure to help the time pass. This is classic chi-town crispy thin crust, tavern-style pizza with fresh ingredients. From what I've heard, their sauce is homemade as is their dough. I like it because the crust is cracker crispy, the mozzarella tastes like whole milk mozzarella, and the pizza itself isn't crazy salty like many other places are. Of course they have plenty of other items to choose from but the pizza, of course, will never disappoint. The desserts look very indulgent so I'll have to try them sometime. As usual, any "special" pizza in chicagoland is the same: sausage, green pepper, onion, and mushroom..and I love it. Sunday evening several families called ahead for a large table. We waited over an hour for food while two other 6+ parties got their food quickly. It was over a half hour for drinks to arrive. Much of the menu was not available. Our server who had at least six more tables in our view acted annoyed at having to run multiple tickets, and was not seen after he placed the orders. When he came with the bills, he announced that because we were a large party he added gratuity and "there was a space to add more". Never again. read more

We had my dads 70th birthday party here and it was a great time. We brought family in friends in from all of the country and some from outside the country, and the entire staff made everyone feel comfortable and took all of our questions. Monica is an excellent manager and accommodated all of our quirky requests (surprise party). She said, "Don't worry I'll get this done." And I had every bit of confidence in here.
