Nick's place in Raymond is such a special and amazing stop! All the food is fantastic, and the owners are some of the most amazing genuine and friendly people on the planet. I typically get a North Shore three-way roast beef when I go with fries. It's one of the best North Shore three roast beef north of Massachusetts. If I could give this place -5 stars I would. 100 dollars for gravy that tasted like motor oil, the meat loaf bowl tasted unlike meat completely, the corn tasted old, the potatoes had no flavor, turkey club had no bacon or tomatoes, sweet potatoes were missing. Nothing had flavor except for the motor oil jelly-like gravy. Now everyone feels sick and nauseous. We will never come back to this place, and will be telling the rest of our community about what horrible food Nicks has. Huge menu with a lot to choose from. Quick service and friendly staff. Got the buffalo chicken wrap. Tenders came out hot and crispy with a good amount of spice. Wife got a hot veggie sub. When we walked in we were immediately greeted with a friendly smile and hello even though they were busy. We were given a menu and went to a table to explore the extensive offerings. When I went to order the line moved quickly and then went to the table after receiving a number . The dining room was clean everything was well stocked and bright . Today my husband and I stopped at Nicks for lunch. weordered a lobster roll, cold for me and he had a haddock bowl. what a disappointment when I put a piece of lobster in my mouth! had No taste, was tough as nails, dry, and instantly I knew it had been frozen! The meat was sooo chewy I could not even chew it and was afraid if Inswallowed, I would choke. you swore it was "fresh"! The pieces of claw meat were so tiny, it was probably from a shedder last summer, 2023!!! extremely disappointed we were not offered a refund. we will not be returning and would not recommend this establishment to anyone. if you cannot serve edible food you should not be open to the public. growing up in "lobster" country, I have eaten more lobsters than I could count!! 3-4 visits now same conclusion. 1st turn off; I've been, noon, mid afternoon and evening and each time their are food delivery folks and/or 20 something townies milling around the customer area waiting, blocking others and trying to distract the girls at the counter. They double park in the parking lot. Get these folks out of the customers way, big turn off. Menu is enormous, no wonder food is mediocre, you can't be good at everything. Todays seafood and fries was cooked in oil so old it was nearly rancid. The breading on the seafood is heavy and oily. The chowder was $10 and was mostly milk and clam juice, no celery, butter, pepper, few potatoes and not a single whole clam. It was barely seasoned. The cook (I use that term generously) should take a lesson with the previous owner (pines) Who's batter was so light it could float and chowder to make you beg. Not anymore. Never the less, the place is chugging along doing just fine and thats great because I won't likely be back again. The convenience of having delivery is reason I've ordered multiple times. The menu is way too large to be great at something. Food has been overcooked several times, lacks quality and taste. Friendly service on the phone, online ordering is helpful but limited so you can tell them how you want something cooked or left off or added. Very disappointed in the food/service today. Ordered $356 worth of food for a small birthday party. The menu online prices were drastically different than charged. The half tray of salad came with a tiny amount of dressing. We had to send someone to the store to purchase more. The chicken fingers were super chewy and stringy. The pizza was pretty good. Unfortunately this time around, we paid 72 dollars and were VERY disappointed =( Got a kids meal that was missing the side order, everything was soggy, cold and sad to look at. First time trying Nick's. People all were very friendly, even given a piece of cheesy. We ordered a shrimp basket and a scallops basket. Shrimp weren't great but they were alright. Lacked seasoning and there was any cocktail sauce in the to go bag . The scallops again were ok, they lacked seasoning and were all different sized, from a marble to a small golf ball. Both baskets were a bit greasy, more than we enjoy. We will try Nick's again, but we will order something other than scallops 6/24/20 - Back at Nick's. I really want to like this place because it is a local establishment. I got the chicken parm with ziti which was pretty good. Wife got the four (4) piece fried chicken dinner. She didn't care for the mashed potatoes because there was no seasoning; pretty bland. Here is where it gets funny. Usually a four piece chicken dinner is a half a chicken ( breast, thigh, wing and leg). She got three thighs and a leg. Come on, really? Now the sad and disturbing part. All the young ladies (3) at the counter and numerous people in the kitchen were not wearing any face coverings. There was no way on God's green earth these people were social distancing. It's not local for us but will definitely be worth the ride. Everyone there was so friendly and our food was cooked quick but still so fresh. This place was great when it first opened. Portion sizes were generous and the food was good. Their mac and cheese used to be my go-to, and their onion rings were great. Unfortunately nicks changed almost everything. The onion rings are totally garbage now, the breading shatters off and mostly arrives as a pile of soggy mush. Their once excellent mac and cheese is bland with a soggy excuse for a crumb top. The OG mac had a cheese-it topping that was crunchy and gave the texture and crunch of baked mac and cheese (even though it's not baked to crisp the top) The new topping is just not good.Delivery always arrives cold and it takes an hour even though I'm a mile down the road. The quality reduction applies to pretty much every item. Also their online ordering menu is a total nightmare. The same items listed multiple times with different prices, typos galore. On mobile it's a total joke, it's difficult to navigate the needlessly long list of categories that is longer than the size of the phone screen. read more
