Very thankful that old school diners like this still exist. No frills, no bs, good food, coffee, and friendly service, all at great prices!

I love this joint. The food was very tasty and the prices are affordable. Excellent bang for your buck! Menu is on the wall, so no paper wasted or germs shared ^^. Service was great as well. Friendly lady took our orders and was attentive throughout. I will be back for the other breakfast specials for sure!

Great little mom and pop diner. The staff is so friendly ! It's my understanding these are new owners but they're caring and kind to every customer. The food quality is great and comes out hot and quick. Loved supporting this restaurant! I ordered two orders of pancakes, a western omelette, home fries, corned beef hash, orange juice, and a hot chocolate. Total was $30 and we brought our leftovers home. Great portions. There were tons of locals and long time customers in the restaurant.

Nicks is a old school jersey city legendary diner. It's located on communipaw. It draws a local crowd every single day. I've been here many times. It's very affordable and get a good amount of food. Family owners, mom and pops diner. Nothing fancy just good food

This is a great small little diner for anyone who wants to grab a quick breakfast that tastes great and for a great price. The owners here are a cute older couple who are very sweet and service is always fast and great with them. I always order my usual Bkfast sandwich: Egg whites with peppers, onions, turkey bacon and cheese on a roll with a side of French toast. Very simple but delicious. And good coffee (chock full o'nuts brand). They have all your basic breakfast foods (grits, bacon, turkey bacon, turkey sausage , and they do lunch). Check it out if your in the neighborhood.

Amazing restaurant/Diner in the heart of Jersey City. I've only eaten breakfast a few times and the pancakes are excellent. Small and cozy. Throw back restaurant. Owners (likely original) are there every day. Cash only. Limited (very limited) street parking. Love this place and stop in whenever I'm in the area.

The food was delicious there was a wait because it was packed the waitress was nice and overall it was great food and service

Is this place good? Worth the trip?

It is lunch counter/diner food. The people there are very sweet, the food is decent and the prices are great. (Note, I have only had omlets, home fries and toast, I have not tried the other food). Is it worth the trip depends on where you are and…

Five stars and totally worth the wait! I have traveled this world from Asia, Europe, North America,…read moreand South America, and let me tell y'all, I have never ever had pancakes like this before. It's clearly evident why the pancakes at the Gold Diner are famous, viral, and most talked about. My husband and I were obsessed with the lemon zest on the butter. I have never tasted a syrup like theirs before. It was fluffy and was giving a bit of mochi consistency (which I'm obsessed with mochi lol). Although the pancakes are the star of the show, the fried chicken is out of this world amazing too bursting with the greatest flavors. Enough about the food, service is straight up top notch! Everyone who works there is passionate about being a member of the Golden Diner. They work as fast and efficiently as possible to get everyone in their doors. Thank you so much for welcoming us with arms wide open and for the best service. You guys are awesome!

I gave away the bananas. The guac was very flavorful - a tad too sour but still very good. The side of broccoli was done perfectly with a bit of flavor and some crunch. The spinach however was maybe the best I've had. Not sure how they made it so good but wasn't simply with garlic. I had a piece of the branzino and thought it was also tasty with a nice fried crunch. The iced tea was perfectly caffeinated but maybe a tad small. It is supposedly unlimited but I didn't take advantage of that. The restrooms were also clean. I just wish they had some lounge chairs in there. Service was fast and diner style. Get what you need and get out of there. No one was rude, but no one was overly friendly. They all did their job and a 20% tip was automatically included. No concerns but thought it would be worth highlighting.

I also liked that they offered bottomless mimosas, but just a heads-up...everyone at the table has to participate!!! I ordered the Veggie Omelette, which was loaded with fresh vegetables, and it came with wheat toast, hash browns, and a side salad. The portions were so generous that I couldn't even finish my meal! Overall, I would definitely recommend this spot if you're looking for a hearty yet healthy breakfast with excellent service, a welcoming atmosphere, and great value. I'd absolutely come back the next time I'm in the area.
