Very spacious open new york style Cafe in downtown area of jersey city. It's clean and open inside with plenty of seating. The prices are decent given the area and the staff is pleasant . There's wife and bathrooms and handicap accessible I ordered the iced pumpkin spice latte and it was 5/5 very delicious and tasty. For food I got the breakfast burrito and meh wasn't to impressed. The ratio of potato to guac, sour cream and eggs is completely off with little to no flavor. There was so much potato in it every bite was potato lol would not recommend if you don't love potatoes like that. I would go back to try their other menu items just to see if there's something I like that suits my taste buds still I recommend it if you're in the area

We absolutely love this spot. Everyone who works here is always friendly and helpful. So far our menu favorites are the veggie omelette, veggie burger, parfait, and original bibimbap bowl. The cafe itself is a great space to work, read, or catch up. The lighting is bright and natural with many live plants. It's not too loud, dark, or cramped like some other coffee shops.

The California sandwich (grilled chicken, roasted red peppers, avocado on fresh bread) + House Salad only $13.95. Very tasty!

Excellent prices, portions, menu selection, and quality of ingredients. Clean, natural lit space with a relaxing vibe. Friendly service, daily specials, and A+ coffee (I had cold brew). Street parking down the street if lucky.

This was our first stop when we moved back to the area. We were sent here on a recommendation and it did not disappoint. The eggs and bulgogi dish was incredible!! It's reasonably priced for the amount of food you get. The space is really nice and relaxing and clean. We love it here. Their menu is extensive too and lattes are so good!

Chicken Teriyaki Bao Bun

Friendly and helpful team. Great food for a reasonable price. Spacious cafe that's great for studying, working or hanging out with friends. I've been to this place several times during my short stay in the neighborhood. The only constructive feedback I have would be to pay more attention to how takeouts are packed, especially if there's sauce involved because the sauce in my bao leaked through the cracks of the container and got all over my paper bag. This wouldn't have happened if the container was packed vertically instead of horizontally in the bag. Overall the food and service are great and I'd visit again when I'm in the neighborhood.

Every neighborhood needs a friendly coffee/brekky spot and this new cafe definitely fits the bill. My boyfriend and I have been anxiously waiting for the opening of Cafe Lafayette and every time I stay over we would walk past to see when the brown paper in the windows would be gone. So I'm happy to say that they just had their soft opening this past week and so far it's delicious with really friendly staff. Right now for soft opening they're open 8-4 but I'm guessing that will change. The menu boasts handcrafted signature coffee blend, Cafe Lafayette, with a variety of milk choices to fit different diets. The food options are heavy on breakfasts with a large selection of egg sandwiches, open face toasts, fresh smoothies, pastries, and omelets. But they also have sandwiches, salads, and some signature items with rice bowls and tacos. There is definitely a nod to Korean/Asian fare with bulgogi tacos, Asian noodle soups, fried dumplings, and even bibimbap! We had the chicken teriyaki rice bowl and the bulgogi beef bowl. Both were bursting with flavor and large portioned. I also had an oat milk latte which was was great. One minor issue was they came with white rice when it said brown but it was so tasty we didn't care. There's also a small selection of to go snacks like chips and bottled tea/juice. Overall I was surprised st the large and diverse menu. Go support local JC and check them out. Welcome to the neighborhood, CL. We're so glad you're finally here :]

Brand new cafe - nice interior with space to sit, eat and work. Currently in soft open, but beyond your regular coffee and pastries the menu looks REAL promising with specialty Rice Bowls, chicken & waffles, Bulgogi Cheesesteak sandwiches, etc... can't wait to work my way through this menu.

Monticello Ave has turned into a ghost town in regard to food choices. Customers are buying one coffee here & taking up a table for four using their laptops for hours on end working. I love their whitefish salad & have had to walk out several times before ordering because there is literally not one seat available on 2 floors!! I spend an average of $30 every time I go in, & someone who purchased a tea 3 hours ago is taking up 4 seats. What caused me to write this review today was the actual "Cuddle Puddle" that was taking place on the couch this afternoon right in front of the register. Three people with no food or drinks were snuggling & playing on their phones without one crumb of food or even an empty drink cup in front of them. There was also a woman holding up a table for 4 while going outside to take business calls on her phone. Is this WeWork or a coffeeshop? Put a time limit on the tables, & no one should be treating this place like their parents living room to take a nap in the free air conditioning. Oh & to the staff member that called me "Sir" today- I am a woman. This whole experience was so uncomfortable I will get my whitefish from Wonder Bagel moving forward.

One of the most marvelous aspects of this establishment is the open invitation to converse directly with the culinary team. I ordered a hot latte to warm up, and had the absolute pleasure of chatting with the chef, Tory. He was incredibly warm, welcoming, and professional. As a devoted lover of fine seafood, I paired my latte with the Shrimp Shakshuka, and it was a complete and utter triumph.
