Great burgers and tasty fries at Buddy's. I think most people may come here for their breakfast food, but their burgers are really, really good!

We wanted to have a quick brunch somewhere I made a reservation at this place , upon arrival we were seated right the way even tho the place was pretty packed . The vibe is awesome and it feels like a cozy home atmosphere. The food was served quickly and it was absolutely spectacular., our server Luisa was a bit too slow and at one point I had to ask someone to find her in order to get another drink . She was nice but nit necessarily efficient:( Parking around this place is crazy so good luck finding a spot . That's definitely a downside. Would consider going back for the food and the atmosphere. Servers certainly need some training .

My friends and I came for brunch on a Sunday morning after a race. Although the place was packed, we got our table right away, and our server was incredibly attentive. There are many amazing breakfast options. The cocktails are ok, but most of the guys on my table were drinking beer, so I can only give my opinion on the Bellinis. The atmosphere is great, it does get a little loud and because there are a lot of families with kids and big groups, but overall a cozy, lively, fun environment! I can't emphasize on how nice the server and host were- we celebrated a birthday and I completely forgot about adding it to my reservation, but didn't remember and they surprised us with a lovely cake. I can't wait to come back and try different things on the menu next time I'm in the area.

Shame on you Buddy's! The food quality has gone wayyyyy down and the prices have gone up. Just went for Mother's Day brunch and it was DISGUSTING. They served my baby girl rotten fruit. And the blueberries were clearly unwashed. The "Jersey Benedict" was gross. The Taylor ham tasted gamey and weird like funky. Not fresh at all. I asked for the home fries to be well done they were basically raw. One waffle for $12 ?! With the fakest lowest grade syrup on the market! Insane .. The cappuccino is the worst. I can't believe you guys serve that warm coffee water and call it cappuccino. I went to buddy's a few times in the past and it was pretty good.. no longer! I'll never be back. Mother's Day ruined!!! :(

Got a table pretty quickly, the service was quick and their outdoor seating is cute. However, I didn't like the food here. I got Buddy's breakfast with eggs and bacon and french toast. The scrambled eggs were cold as soon as they arrived, dry and lacked flavour. It only got colder due to the outdoor seating. The French toast was pretty disappointing as well and had too much cinnamon in the toast and on top of it, it overpowered the taste of the bread and the chocolate. I did try some of the sweet potato fries and liked those.

Came here on a early Saturday afternoon for some brunch. I was able to find parking on the street, not metered, right down the street from the venue. I was promptly seated to a table upon entering the restaurant. I placed an order for a cappuccino, a buddy breakfast and a cocktail called the Bae. My cappuccino was good, my food was amazing. I order the eggs over medium and french toast. The french toast was sweet and a good deal of cinnamon...just the way I like it. My drink "the bae" was very good, just strong enough. My only compliant was that the floral in the drink was very overpowering, too overpowering. But besides that, a really good meal. Service was good, Ambiance was nice and cozy. Would definitely go again.

Buddy's Jc is one of my favs in downtown Jersey City. We went on a Saturday morning around 9am, which was perfect. No wait It's a cute brunch spot that always decorates for all seasons and holidays. Love the details representing JC. The staff were welcoming and kind. The food came out in good timing. I had the Veggie Hash dish. The veggies were seasoned which made eating veggies delightful with over easy eggs. Wish they had Rye toast but I went with the wheat. My husband had the short rib hash. The meat could have been more seasoned but overall it was a delicious breakfast combo. My daughter had a classic breakfast, and she was happy with a side of chocolate milk. The iced vanilla latte was lightly sweetened which I prefer. I've had the chicken and waffles before, and so far that's my fav. If you're thinking about having that, go for it. Enjoy

My only critique: BUTTER. Yes, had they slathered that toast in melty, luscious butta, it would've elevated this sandwich to the next level! So, I wanted a simple scrambled egg sandwich with cheese. No bacon, no bells, no whistles. I just wanted a simple egg sandwich, mmK? I opened up the app and noticed that I was near my buddy Buddy's. I had been for brunch before and it was just fine, but I wanted to give them another chance. I ordered my scrambled egg sandwich with cheese on white toast. I arrive to pick it up, bite into it and it was RIGHT! You understand? It was RIGHT. The eggs were nicely scrambled and cheesy, served on the perfect texture of toast. The ONLY thing this sandwich was missing was butter on that toast! Next time, I just need them to take that toast, and slather that ho in BUTTER! That would've taken this sandwich from 4.5/5 stars, to 5/5 stars! Thank you, Buddy. You did dat!

Great diner to get brunch at! It hits everything you want when you think of a classic brunch. We ordered the chicken and waffles, and the Paulus hook burger. The burger had a great kick to it and I love a potato bun. The fries are a classic medium cut that has a good potato ratio. The chicken and waffles were delicious. They give you five pieces of chicken, which is very generous.

Food came out very fast, good quality and good service. The room was decorated for the holidays which was a nice touch. Good options on the brunch menu.

    ¿French Onion soup?
    Frances W.

Ok experience. Service was good enough, but the French onion was pretty mediocre, actually it was a bit weird. It tasted like it had American cheese on it. I wasn't given a napkin or anything either. So I used the one that was under the bowl. I regret not getting the wings, they looked good! Alas, I'll go back. But not for that French onion sitch. But Christmas decorations were on point. I love jersey city and New York around Christmas time!

One of the best Malibu Bay Breezes, I've ever had!! And it looks so pretty :)

Amazing little place but with such a great big Vibe! Amazing and very friendly staff and amazing food! I had a Malibu Baybreeze drink and it must have been one of the best I've ever had! My husband had a Captain Morgan drink, which, he said was also Very good! Nice atmosphere with great music. We tried the bacon cheeseburger, empanadas and one of our friends, tried the pancakes with whipped cream, in which, all were delicious!! I did see some high chairs for babies, which is good to know , for the morning breakfast/brunches for families with small babies/kids! Very welcoming environment and staff! I know kids also love the Shirley Temples, in which, they also have and serve. That's another great thing to know especially, for parents with children! At night, I felt it to be more of a bar and lounge scene with a much older crowd, which is a great place for a date night and even a friends gathering to have a nice drink and chill! Prices are Very Reasonable which is always a plus! lol! I definitely recommend!

    Pomme frites and falafel burgers
    Kristine L.

Went for Tuesday all-day happy hour! Wines and apps are only $7 each. We enjoyed pomme frites with different aiolis (gotta ask for them) and the falafel sliders. Food wasn't bad and the wine was a generous pour. There were only a few people inside but we probably stayed for 2 hours yapping and eating and just had a good time. The place is open until 11 so we really enjoyed ourselves. Fun for a chill evening with friends.

Tucked into the Financial District, this spot blends old New York history with some of the best cocktails in the city--and it's easy to see why it's been named "World's Best Bar" more than once. The name itself has a wild backstory, inspired by a notorious 19th-century Irish-American gang from Five Points. It adds a layer of character to the place, but what really keeps people coming back is the atmosphere and the drinks. The space is split into two levels: a two lively, sawdust-floored Taprooms downstairs and a more refined Parlor upstairs if you're in the mood for a quieter, cocktail-focused experience. Drinks are the real highlight here. The Irish Coffee is widely considered one of the best in the world--rich, smooth, and perfectly balanced with whiskey, coffee, and fresh cream. They also get creative with variations like a frozen version and even an Irish Coffee martini. If you want something different, the "Act Naturally" is a standout, mixing Irish whiskey with Guinness and fig in a way that works. Food is just as impressive for a bar. The lobster deviled eggs (topped with caviar) are a must-try, and the menu leans into elevated comfort food. Overall, The Dead Rabbit nails the balance between historic charm and modern cocktail excellence. The D.R. is one of those places that is never boring and consistently delivers.

After walking back & forth a few times, we saw another group walking towards the door & they confirmed the place. Our friends raved about this place and we of course were excited (and a bit skeptical at first) to try it. The concept: no menu + no lights + a few questions = the ultimate cocktail experience. The speakeasy vibe and the dark ambiance really makes this place feel even more exclusive. With just a few tables and the bar setting, you're in for an experience you won't forget (unless you answer the wrong questions and really end up with a drink you don't like HA). This wasn't my case. Of course I described my two favorite things: Negroni + mezcal. The obvious answer would be a mezcal Negroni, but that's not why one comes to a place like Attaboy. Our amazing curator came by to ask us all a few questions, write down a few words in the napkins, and mix up the perfect drink that our master bartender crafts, curates and creates. My drink came as I couldn't possibly imagine. It looked like a Negroni smelled like Oaxaca, with all the smoke simmering up and preparing my sensory experience, leading to the best first sip. Ladies and gentleman, I introduce you to The Devil's Backbone. A perfectly balanced drink I'll never forget, one that is sipped slowly and enjoyed thoroughly. It's sexy, it's smoky it's sipped. Attaboy gave the best mixology experience and we can't wait to be back. Pro tip: be sure to be as vocal as possible, even with ice, so you don't end up with a tiki drink if that's not your vibe.

He called us to let us know our table was ready but we missed the call (our fault). We returned the call immediately and got there within a couple minutes anyway. So I arrived at the Press Room and saw that there was a bar with a couple of tables surrounding it. I had to approach the bartender to find out where exactly this party was and he instructed me to look beyond the large curtain to the side just as if I were searching for the Wizard of Oz. As I tugged myself behind the curtain, I walked into a decent-sized room and with balloons and the words, "Welcome to Emerald City" in the front of the room with a DJ playing today's hits and of course, songs from the Wizard Broadway show. At first, I thought this was going to be a dance party but soon realized that it was going to be a craft party instead. There was a station for making your own broom, one to make a friendship bracelet, and another one for letter writing along with sealed wax to use on the envelope with different stamps. I sipped away an Old-Fashioned in my souvenir Wicked cup while singing along to the Wicked soundtrack and making a friendship bracelet for my daughter. This experience was relaxing and joyful so now I know my type of party consists of a craft night. Close to the end of the night, I participated in a Wicked costume contest. I lost but nevertheless, I had a good time. Ended the night with an order of burger before heading home to show off my creations. I can't wait to check out their other events and come here again!
