Was our first time there and probably our last. My husband ordered a white wine , received a red wine. The waitress did correct it. My sister n law received the wrong pasta with her meal. This restaurant came highly recommended but we were sadly very disappointed. Ordered takeout for the first time. Husband ordered the seafood fra diavolo and I ordered the chicken French. For some reason, the pasta for my chicken French came with red sauce, not sure if that's normal for this restaurant but I've never had that any restaurant I've been to. My husband said the seafood was "okay" which I think was generous. Th chicken French was unfortunately the worst chicken French I've ever had. It was wildly sweet, but also had alllst no flavor to it. The linguine was not cooked enough & quite tough. A bit of a blast from the past restaurant, the type of place you would've gone with your parents when you were a kid, but I still enjoyed the old-school charm. They have a salad bar that was typical of places like this back in the day and I have to admit I have a soft spot for a nice old-fashioned salad bar with soup. Service was excellent. Always love the food and the. The price is not so much but fair. But I would advise you all for catering to be aware. For the last few weeks, they have allowed a homeless bum to sleep in the van. I DO NOT CARE IF HE WORKS AT NICKS OR NOT! I don't think the management knows just one person who probably allows. I would NOT order catering from them. We've been meaning to go back to Nick's for a while and finally made it. I'm glad we did. First, the hospitality from staff and the owner is welcoming even for occasional guests though it's easy to see there's many regulars. The food was great. Salads were fresh. Complimentary bread was warm and refilled on request. Entrees of scallops and chicken Florentine were plentiful and tasty. Our young server was polite and efficient. We'll be back! read more

We thought we tried this place years ago, but upon entering, we thought probably not. We've been hearing good things about it on social media so had to give it a try. We were very glad we did. First, a young man served us that couldn't have been any nicer and well trained. He informed us he just came off of two weeks of training and was eager to do well. He did! To start, as part of the experience we get a small cutting board with fresh bread, garlic butter and two small slices of homemade pizza! All very good and the pizza was a pleasant surprise and we were offered more if we'd like. For an appetizer we had to try their meatballs and red sauce. No Italian restaurant is worth that title without a good red sauce and a well cooked and flavorful meatball. Both were very good! The meatball was tender and the sauce actually reminded my wife of her own sauce. Crazy, as it's a recipe handed down from grandma Posato! For dinner my wife got the broiled haddock. A simple dish but it had something special. Maybe a light sprinkling of cheese? It was very good! I chose the veal parm. To be honest it wasn't great but was good. The batter was uneven and too thick in some places as was the veal. I wouldn't abandon trying it again and I wouldn't guess this is the normal offering. No dessert this time but again the service was too notch, the atmosphere was old school Italian, just like I would want and we will be back. Lastly I'll mention they had a salad bar that was "All you can eat" we were told, not common these days and the bar looked very nice. A place I'd love to come back to and enjoy a drink. After a long day at Seabreeze, me and a couple of my friends decided to stop in to Nick's Sea Breeze Inn to get a late dinner. This was our first time trying this place out and we were pleasantly surprised by it's unique ambiance. The decor had an old-fashioned feel and the waitstaff were very friendly. Even though it was later in the evening, we never felt rushed. As a starter, our table received fresh bread that was very delicious! We were each given the option to start with a soup or salad and I ordered the homemade minestrone soup, which was great! For my main entrée I ordered the chicken parmesan with linguine pasta and the chicken was crispy and delicious! My friends were also pleased with their meals. This review is after giving this place a second try. I really wanted to like the place and our waitress was great. The food however... not so great. If I had to guess, nothing was made in house. The red sauce was watery, pasta was overcooked and I could've purchased this meatball at the store In the frozen section. The chicken French was over tenderized and again the sauce tasted canned or jarred. The add-on salad bar was a choice of two lettuce mixes and other various pickled type items such as roasted red peppers full of oil and giardiniera. The soup of the day was greatly under seasoned. After being disappointed for a second time I can't see going back again. The almost $30 per entree for the quality is insane. I felt like I should've been on an episode of restaurant rescue. I know this place would be considered a Rochester staple or neighborhood type of eatery but they need to update their food quality and, I feel also their atmosphere, to compete the the vast number of quality restaurants in the Rochester area with similar prices ranges. read more

Walk in to Nick's and you will be greeted by the friendliest waitress holding a plate of complementary pepperoni pizza and garlic bread with garlic butter. First walk over to the salad bar, and it's one of the nicest salad bars I've ever seen They even have pepperoni sardines, and chocolate mousse, tapioca pudding and a fresh soup of the day. An old fashioned experience for the entire family. The waitress was nice enough to make me fresh brewed iced tea and my Cajun tuna steak was excellent We had no room for dessert but because one of our party was having a birthday they brought over a slice of multicolored Neapolitan ice cream cake for us to share. Sea Breeze institution has still got it! We were able to be seated right away and the food was delicious. Fun, eclectic decor. Perfect summer meal of haddock and zucchini medley. We loved this place! Excellent Italian dinner, wonderful staff, reasonable prices. We came on a whim somewhat late, and they were so kind. Our 3 year old was not in the best mood but the waitress got her out of her chair and toured her around the restaurant. Our food was delicious. I visited for a retirement party and took over the place. All of the staff from greeter to bar to dining area were friendly and professional. I really liked the beans and greans. It was confusing that there was salad on the buffet table and then also their salad bar buffet so I just didn't eat salad. Also the beef at the table was not a great idea, it cooled and dried out too quickly, it would have been better in the buffet. read more

We have been going to Nicks Seabreeze Inn for years. The food is good and the service is great.

The meal was tasty and well presented. We requested a box for the leftovers and the waitress was snippy saying I have to do it we asked her again for a box she huffed away bringing a box and tossing it on the table a few minutes later. I think it is very unsanitary taking the dishes to another area to box up especially after handling other plates and even more so with the recent epidemic we have experienced. The so called handicap entrance was difficult to manage for one person and impossible for someone alone using a walker or wheelchair. read more

I love the idea of Nick's... I love a time honored neighborhood restaurant cooking up dishes that they've had the recipe for for 50 some years... A place where everyone knows the menu and the server is recognize you from the last time you were there... A place where the food tastes like home and you leave with a smile on your face... And I really wish this was Nick's... But it's not. I am inconsistently disappointed every time I visit this restaurant. Last time I tried the best lasagna in town which it is definitely not. The salad is always small and underwhelming although the olives and garbanzo beans are a nice touch. The best thing I can say about the salad is that it was good blue cheese dressing. The garlic bread was dry and they didn't give you anywhere near enough butter. For some reason deep slices only cut halfway through the loaf so then you have to tear and rip through the loaf to get the bread out that makes no sense. I tried the chicken parm tonight with no sauce on the pasta. The chicken was over tenderized and just fell apart. I can't understand how you going to charge me $25 for a chicken parm and give me a 3 oz portion of pasta. It's the cheapest thing to possibly serve ! Just blows my mind lol. Has ever started the night I'm great but we had to flag her down for refills and then towards the end of the meal she disappeared for half an hour and we couldn't leave cuz we didn't even have a check to pay! Maybe they just needs a little refreshing to revitalize it I don't know. I truly wish this was as great of a restaurant as it could be. read more

We usually get good food here but tonight we were disappointed for several reasons. I ordered the chicken florentine, which was supposed to come with "**lemon wine sauce". The entire dish was sitting a huge pool of heavy butter/ oil sauce, which was very unappealing. I could have just drained the sauce and lived with it except for the matter of the sauce. The " lemon wine sauce" tasted like Marsala wine, which i absolutely dislike. I would have never ordered it if I knew marsala wine was used instead of a white wine. My husband ordered the salmon special which was good but the potatoes were cold. Our waitress said she would bring out a new hot order- which she never did. Worst server I've had ever out to eat. Family has been to Nicks no less than 20 times. Food, drinks, atmosphere etc. has always been good, no problem there. Older woman server was the worst! Overly pushy to get us to order, get us to pay & get us out. It was an absolute SNL skit the way she was. Shoveling take home food into trays as I was still eating. Actually embarrassing. I was greatly disappointed on our first (and our last) visit. Several in our party ordered Artichoke French and Chicken French. It was not a "typical" preparation... no lemon nor grated parm. cheese flavors. It tasted like an orange sweet & sour sauce!... not good! The greens & beans were watery and tasteless with too many hot pepper flakes. The mushrooms on the salad bar tasted like they were emptied from a can. Even the "house" wine had an unpleasant taste. For a second review, this is the place to go for a fish fry on Friday night. Fresh, flaky, delicious, haddock, deep fried or broiled, and the very best piece of fish in town. I like mine breaded, with fries, and cole slaw. I also like to take advantage of the salad bar and the Manhattan clam chowder soup. It is by far, the very best Manhattan clam chowder between Sea Breeze and Boston. I don't even like Manhattan clam chowder, unless it comes from Nick's Sea breeze Inn. I have tried everybody else on the northeast side of town and Nick's trumps them all for a fish fry. It's a five star Yelp meal when you add the salad bar. Stopped at Nicks Seabreeze in for takeout dinner. Dad ordered lasagna and I ordered gnocchi. Was ok too much cheese on both orders and sauce was a little watery. I was disappointed in the serving sizes. They were not that busy from what I saw while I picked up To go food. I will think twice the next time I go.
