I ordered scallops with homemade pasta, sweet peas, and prosciutto. The pasta was very greasy. It tasted like the scallops and peas were fried in bacon grease and poured over the pasta. There were 3 very small, flat scallops in my dish. The meal was very salty with crunchy pieces of bacon bits. As my meal started to cool off there were small chunks of grease forming on my peas. My friend's pasta dish was blah. As far as ambiance, the music was too loud, and the lighting was poor. it was difficult to read the bill. Very pricey meal for what we got. Not going back. Lemon forward, buttery, hearts were large. I wish the bread came before so I could wipe my entire face with the lemon butter soaked slices like a psychopath. For entrees, my brother got the seafood provincial, my SIL got the Pasta platter, my niece got the seafood Alfredo, and I got the pesto fettuccini. I opted for the clam chowder side, someone got the chicken soup, and my bro got the salad with the homemade poppyseed dressing. All dishes looked and tasted phenomenal. Probably should not have opted for another warm bread basket but my pasta had so much sauce it was helpful to the dishwasher since my plate was so clean. Passed on coffee and dessert. Competition is fierce, carbs are plentiful, and expectations are high. I lived near East Ave for years and somehow never wandered into Amore... a personal flaw, clearly. First impressions? Fantastic. The ambience is classy and warm, with a real effort to evoke parts of Italy without feeling cheesy. From the moment you arrive, there's valet service, someone opening the door, a friendly greeting at reception, and then you're guided inside. We headed straight to the bar, which is always my preference. Better people-watching, better odds of snagging seats, and an overall more fun vibe. Pro tip: go during happy hour, which runs from 5-6 pm on M-F. The bar was lively but not chaotic, and we had no trouble finding two seats. The happy hour menu is genuinely one of the best parts. Appetizers and select pizzas are discounted, and it's a great way to sample the menu without fully committing to an entrée. I've now been three times, and the pepperoni pizza from the happy hour menu has made repeat appearances. Wood-fired, generous cheese, delicious pepperoni, and I always ask for a side of chili peppers to really seal the deal. Other happy hour standouts include the meatballs. Two massive, juicy meatballs smothered in marinara that clearly knows what it's doing. When you order food, you also get complimentary bread with creamy butter, which never fails to win my heart. Plenty of shrimp (a personal pet peeve when restaurants skimp), well seasoned, and so good I cleaned my plate, which is rare for me. Most recently, I tried the beef short rib with roasted carrots, broccolini, and parsnip purée. The meat was tender and moist, not dry in the slightest, and felt like a cozy, elevated comfort dish. As an Italian restaurant, dessert matters, so we ordered the tiramisu to share with coffee. It tasted genuinely homemade, not overly sweet, and was the perfect ending to the meal. Overall, I have no idea why it took me so long to try Amore, but it has officially become a regular spot for us. Not sure where to start here. The whole experience was disappointing and frustrating. We had a…read morereservation for two, there was no one in front of us when we got to the restaurant. There was plenty of empty tables (inside and out), the restaurant wasn't too busy, and not short on staff. It took about 15 minutes just for someone to get us seated. more than 45 minutes for the waitress to take our order, and total of one hour and 48 minutes to get our food. The waitress didn't even fill up our glasses with water except for once (20 minutes after we sat) and another time when we got our food (one hour and 48 minutes later). I couldn't understand what's been taking so long especially when the restaurant wasn't too busy. There were only 2 other tables (of 2) out side and 2 other tables inside (one of 4 and one of 2). Several entrees on the menu were NOT available, and will no longer be served again (according to our waitress) so we were disappointed that both of the meals which we wanted to have are no longer served. I believe that the restaurant should update their online and in restaurant menus to reflect these changes. We had to rush eating our food since we had a show to attend after dinner, I couldn't even eat half of my food. After we paid, we realized that there were an extra charges and here's the breakdown: both meals were over charged from what they actually are on the menu, and there was another extra charge of 4% credit card fee. Neither of these two extra charges were deloused anywhere before we paid. Here's the most interesting part, we called the restaurant to express how we felt about our experience. The surprise was that the owner and chef in the same time, was unapologetic, defensive and rude. He said and I quote: "Well, we don't serve fast food here, at least was the food good?". When we mentioned that we missed the show, he said: "You guys are cutting it pretty close". We got to the restaurant 2 hours before the show. The show venue is only 4 minutes away from the restaurant. When we complained about the two extra charges for each plate, we got no comment rather than another question about the second extra charge. The owner/chef only explained the second extra charge and said "The credit card fee charge is standard, if you go to a car dealership, or a mechanic they will add it without letting you know". The food was alright, it was not bad but nothing spectacular either. My recommendation is if you'd like to have an Italian food, do yourself a favor and go to Limoncello, Lucano or Polizzi's. I'm sure there are more good ones that I haven't tried or forgot about.

The portions were HUGE, and yet we all finished every bit of our meals - no leftovers to take home. The food was amazing. Homemade, tasty, wonderful red sauce, everything was so good we just couldn't stop eating. They had to roll us out of there, and we all went home and took a nap. It's the best Italian food I've had in a really long time - just so GOOD! We'll be back to visit my cousin again soon, and make sure we definitely eat at Rosey's again!
